  1. Mike Lynch
  2. Chief Human Potential Officer
  3. DAQRI
  4.
  5. Dear Mr. Lynch,
  6.
  7. I am writing to apply for the Legal Intellectual Property Internship with DAQRI for this coming summer.
  8.
  9. I want to work with DAQRI and its legal department to gain legal experience in the corporate, intellectual property, and technology setting, as I plan on pursuing a career in intellectual property law in the tech sector after law school. The opportunity to attend speaker events, receive training in intellectual property, work with a mentor, and utilize DAQRI’s intellectual property portfolio would be both intriguing and highly beneficial to me as I begin to learn more about the practice. I hope to learn more about corporate law and, more specifically, what it is like to work in the intellectual property field, as a means of both fostering and testing my passion for and interest in intellectual property and technology.

  11. I am a junior history and political science double major and computer science minor at Loyola Marymount University. I have conducted extensive research in both the history and the political science fields, and one of my works was published last year when I was awarded the grand prize for LMU’s Undergraduate Library Research Awards. I am the current Vice President of LMU’s Mock Trial team, and I worked with my fellow e-board members over the summer to critically assess the problems that we experienced last year, allowing us to reform and restructure the program to be more efficient and effective. I am responsible for organizing the team structure and leading the weekly meetings. I also serve as a plaintiff attorney for the Mock Trial team, allowing me to exercise my critical, analytical, and rhetorical skills while playing a lead role in developing our case theory and strategy. I have worked as a Classroom Support Field Technician for LMU’s ITS department since February 2015. As a field technician, I can exercise my passion for technology by diagnosing and resolving complex issues involving computers, projectors, and other AV equipment. I get to share this passion with others by assisting in training new hires in classroom technology, and I get to contribute to my University by ensuring that important events run smoothly. I have also worked the past three summers as a Community Services Leader for the City of Irvine, which I had done as a volunteer for four years before being hired. As a Community Services Leader, I have planned and led multiple weeks of summer camp, allowing me to better the community by influencing the lives of hundreds of children. The need to constantly create new games, keep children engaged, and create a flexible timeline that I could adapt to whatever surprises may occur has taught me a lot about the importance of a good work ethic. My experience as a Community Service Leader has also taught me the importance of perseverance, leadership, and organization, and it has helped me become the person I am today. Thus, because of my strong work ethic, my passion for technology, and my exceptional analytical, technological, and leadership skills, I feel I would be able to contribute to the amazing work that DAQRI does.
  12.
  13. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.
  14.
  15. Sincerely,
  16.
