- Check out this great interview by Michael Uzick, ND of Dr. Thomas Seyfried in the Townsend Letter on the topic of metabolic dysfunction and ketosis as a therapeutic strategy.

- And be sure to register for the 2014 OncANP conference, where Dr. Seyfried will be one of our presenters. Speaking of which, the conference lineup looks great this year - this is one of the most advanced and mind stimulating conferences that I have attended. Plus, the Phoenix venue is awesome and the it is all around a great time! You can learn more here: www.oncanp.org

- Our clinic has done the largest and longest human study, an ongoing case series, that I can find on diet in cancer patients that addresses ketogenic diets and carbohydrate restriction diets. Of the 317 cancer patients that came in to our clinic prior to July 2013 with a cancer diagnosis, these two strategies have been enormously beneficial for our patients, and have been in many ways a major determinant of survival and remission. Calorie restriction was not found to be statistically significant in that same population.
- Of the three papers we are writing on this topic, the first and longest is here. One of the upcoming papers in the works is more specifically focused on details of diet in those same patients.

- I've reread your line a few times, and still find that I am confused:
- "Of the 317 cancer patients that came in to our clinic prior to July 2013 with a cancer diagnosis, these two strategies have been enormously beneficial for our
- patients, and have been in many ways a major determinant of survival and
- remission. "
- Could you clarify what you mean? I'm trying to equate enormously beneficial and detriment of survival without success.

- Alas I see, I read this too early in the morning. Sorry, my eyes weren't quite open at the time.
- These dietary interventions may indeed prove to be among the more effective therapies at anyone's disposal. I think this is why we are devoting so much of the oncanp conference to hearing both Valter Longo talk about fasting and chemo and Thomas Seyfried do his pitch for ketosis.
- Joe Pizzorno's Journal, Integrative Medicine: a Clinician's Journal just did an interview with Valter Longo. I'll see if I can talk them into posting the full text online for free.
