Kage's Trial of Faith with Ser Erik

[18:27]Erik Mynhier: Kage.
[18:28]Kage Kiryuu approaches from the aetheryte and gives a bow. "Ser."
[18:28]Erik Mynhier: Are you ready?
[18:28]Kage Kiryuu: "I'm here to face my trial of faith with you."
[18:29]Erik Mynhier: Have others told you what to expect?
[18:29]Kage Kiryuu shakes his head, "No Ser, no one has told me anything."
[18:29]Erik Mynhier: Good. Then let us be on our way.
[18:30]Erik Mynhier: Allow me to change.
[18:30]Erik Mynhier: By my oath....
[18:30]Erik Mynhier: ... I will protect Her Majesty with all my courage and fury!
[18:30]Erik Mynhier: Tell me Kiryuu, what is faith?
[18:31]Kage Kiryuu: "Faith... is conviction. Conviction in something that in which you cannot see touch or feel."
[18:31]Erik Mynhier: No. But do not fear, you will know the answer when we are done.
[18:32]Kage Kiryuu frowns a little but nods.
[18:32]Erik Mynhier: Let us ride.
[18:32]Erik Mynhier raises his ring into the air and chants "Steed of Halone, stallion of light, come forth and carry me toward the Fury of War. FORTEMPS!"
[18:33]Erik Mynhier: We shall be riding far out into the sands.
[18:36]Erik Mynhier: How are we able to do what we do?
[18:36]Kage Kiryuu: "Ser? What do you mean?"
[18:37]Erik Mynhier: Where does our power come from?
[18:37]Kage Kiryuu: "Souls of Paladins past have given us their memories."
[18:38]Erik Mynhier: Yes.
[18:38]Erik Mynhier: But that is only the top of it.
[18:39]Erik Mynhier: We are fueled by faith.
[18:39]Erik Mynhier: We believe that power is there and so it is.
[18:40]Erik Mynhier: Faith is more then a thought held dear, it is the power of creation.
[18:40]Erik Mynhier: What do you believe in Paladin?
[18:40]Kage Kiryuu nods slowly.
[18:41]Kage Kiryuu: "I believe that I can do good for Ul'dah and the Sultana and protect it."
[18:41]Erik Mynhier: No child. That is a false faith.
[18:42]Kage Kiryuu: "False?"
[18:44]Erik Mynhier: Those are false faith. Faith is something that is not obvious. You will serve and follow as we all do, but what sets the mighty apart from all others is true faith.
[18:44]Erik Mynhier: It is more of a lesson then a trial is it not?
[18:45]Kage Kiryuu bites his lip and nods.
[18:45]Kage Kiryuu: "Whether a trial or a lesson, I appreciate it all. One can never stop learning."
[18:45]Erik Mynhier: Can you stop a flooding river?
[18:45]Kage Kiryuu: "Not I, nor would I want to."
[18:46]Erik Mynhier: Can you stand before an army 100 strong and win?
[18:47]Kage Kiryuu: "I would stand if necessary but win I can not guarantee."
[18:49]Erik Mynhier: You must have faith, not in Ul'dah, or Halone, or gods. You must believe that there is nothing that can harm another life so long as you live. You must have faith not even in yourself, but faith in the fact that you can save the world. And then nothing will be impossible.
[18:49]Erik Mynhier: Do you understand?
[18:49]Kage Kiryuu clenches a fist and nods.
[18:49]Kage Kiryuu: "Yes Ser."
[18:49]Erik Mynhier: Good, now your trial.
[18:50]Erik Mynhier: As I stated faith itself is the power of creation...
[18:51]Erik Mynhier: Nothing flies in the face of that creation like the undead...
[18:52]Erik Mynhier: Unnatural creatures, damned or cursed, they defile creation. We, as holders of faith, have the power to put such creatures down.
[18:52]Erik Mynhier: This unholy place holds a great number of undead.
[18:52]Kage Kiryuu looks around and nods that he sees them.
[18:54]Erik Mynhier: Use the faith that you can save these poor souls, and banish 10 of them. Then return here, though note I cannot help you without failing you in this trial. I shall not let you die or turn, but you must have faith to be victorious. Before you begin I shal pray for you and recite the Oath of the Sultansworn.
[18:55]Erik Mynhier: Halone, Goddess of Fury, guide me in my actions.
[18:55]Kage Kiryuu: "Shall I go now then?"
[18:55]Erik Mynhier: You must know the oath, so remember it.
[18:55]Erik Mynhier: We are the Sultansworn, wheresoever our duty leads us we go...
[18:55]Erik Mynhier: To abide one's own sense of justice is to embrace the Paladin's creed...
[18:55]Erik Mynhier: Now come and let us stand together shoulder to shoulder....
