- [21:21] Ulhan Blackflame: Okay so first age Dwarves rise and then tunnel to obscurity right?
- [21:21] Ulhan Blackflame: Eventually creating a large ring under the earth that funnels mana from the core and sending it to the surface
- [21:22] Veilcov: Why?
- [21:22] Ulhan Blackflame: Also we'll need bands of monsters and stuff
- [21:22] Ulhan Blackflame: Why send mana to the surface? It was an accident
- [21:22] Ulhan Blackflame: Byproduct of making the ring to pull mana from the core in the first place?
- [21:23] Ulhan Blackflame: Also Monsters and stuff would have people not working on plot plot plot all the tie
- [21:23] Ulhan Blackflame: Time
- [21:23] Ulhan Blackflame: FOrcing them to interact with neighbors and the like.
- [21:23] Veilcov: Like robing goblin hordes and beast clans?
- [21:23] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes
- [21:24] Ulhan Blackflame: Or Dwarven MACHINES LIKE MORROWIND CAUSE I WANTS THEM PLEASE OH PLEASE OF PLEASE!(I'm fine without them. It would just be cool and a total ripoff)
- [21:25] Veilcov: No automatons, even for lore and events.
- [21:25] Veilcov: They do not exist.
- [21:26] Ulhan Blackflame: Damn
- [21:26] Ulhan Blackflame: Muh Dwemer rolly death balls
- [21:26] System: Note from Cerebrus: re:GoB Lore
- [21:26] Ulhan Blackflame: (I called them that when I was little.)
- [21:26] Veilcov: Awww, adorable.
- [21:27] Ulhan Blackflame: I am fine with no automations
- [21:27] Ulhan Blackflame: Magic or otherwise
- [21:27] Ulhan Blackflame: Maybe elementals though, strong and powerful as we go on?
- [21:28] Ulhan Blackflame: A reason to also just reign in people instead of extinguish them.
- [21:28] Ulhan Blackflame: So you can have a buffer.
- [21:28] Veilcov: I don't get why it needs to be magic or a machine though. You can't reason with such things.
- [21:29] Ulhan Blackflame: True
- [21:29] Ulhan Blackflame: Maybe the world just wants to remove bread?
- [21:29] Ulhan Blackflame: Instead of Kebab
- [21:30] Ulhan Blackflame: [Fire elemental playing accordion intensifies]
- [21:30] Veilcov: I could understand if it was a result of something, like if peopple were purposefully ruining the land for something the world would just wreck them.
- [21:30] Ulhan Blackflame: Goblins, Orcs, Monster clans will work just fine though.
- [21:31] Ulhan Blackflame: Then I can keep da elementals in my head for when people decide to plunder the land too much or pollute it enough.
- [21:31] Ulhan Blackflame: But if you don't want them they will never join
- [21:31] Ulhan Blackflame: I just like talking about them
- [21:32] Ulhan Blackflame: Cause I am sillt
- [21:32] Ulhan Blackflame: Silly*
- [21:32] Veilcov: Suddenly the land scorching warlord regrets burning so many fields.
- [21:32] Veilcov: And it's not that you're silly, which you are a silly, silly person, it's more that we have a bit different views of building y'know?
- [21:33] Ulhan Blackflame: Of course
- [21:33] Ulhan Blackflame: Thats why we can work TOGETHER!
- [21:33] Veilcov: It seems more like you have a lot of ideas that you connect together and I have more of an idea that starts at bottom and works up.
- [21:33] Veilcov: Together? Like near each other!?
- [21:33] Ulhan Blackflame: Maybe
- [21:33] Veilcov: G-God stop flirting with your GM.
- [21:34] Ulhan Blackflame: Well I am a helper
- [21:34] Ulhan Blackflame: So I can do what I want.
- [21:34] Veilcov: REGARDLESS! Have you been building the lore?
- [21:34] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes with people
- [21:34] Ulhan Blackflame: Went with the basic dark ages things
- [21:35] Ulhan Blackflame: The World is about 89000 years old since its creation being all magic like.
- [21:40] Ulhan Blackflame: Within that time six dark ages happened, with the first being the founding of the First empire of man that went all Warhammer silly on people, the second being when a crazed pyromancer burnt the world down, the third when the land was shattered tpo pieces and resembles what it looks like today, the forth when Catgirls arrived, fifth when a wizard rose to power in a land where magic was forgotten about from a large world spread unlearning(Basically Spanish inquisition for mages) And the sixth being the unnamed house rising to be an empire and fractioning into a large global war.
- [21:40] Ulhan Blackflame: If its shit feel free to say so.
- [21:42] Veilcov: I don't like the fifth age, but the rest is good.
- [21:43] Ulhan Blackflame: You never like my fifth ages
- [21:43] Ulhan Blackflame: Wahhh!
- [21:43] Ulhan Blackflame: What would be good though for a fifth age?
- [21:43] Ulhan Blackflame: Monster uprising?
- [21:43] Veilcov: Last time the fifth was a serpent wasn't it?
- [21:43] Ulhan Blackflame: No that was the third
- [21:44] Ulhan Blackflame: Maybe a long winter?
- [21:44] Ulhan Blackflame: Deadly and devastating?
- [21:44] Veilcov: Ohhh, but yeah, something like that, an isolation of races into their collective groups.
- [21:45] Veilcov: Then they reassembled under the large empire in age six.
- [21:45] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes
- [21:46] Ulhan Blackflame: And then there was a huge succession war and those that are around now broke free of that empires control to reform their houses once more, or establish new ones.
- [21:48] Veilcov: A new emperor rose after the old one died and was incompetent as all hell?
- [21:49] Ulhan Blackflame: I was thinking multiple children, like hundreds all claiming some land
- [21:49] Ulhan Blackflame: And then they all went Ottoman on each other
- [21:49] Veilcov: Hundreds? Was Veil the emperor?
- [21:49] Ulhan Blackflame: Allows for it to be a long, blood struggle
- [21:49] Ulhan Blackflame: No...Maybe
- [21:51] Veilcov: So is the latest age a long time after that or all the noble houses descended from this guy?
- [21:52] Ulhan Blackflame: Some houses could be, others claim they are descended from long dead heroes or ancient noble families that went into hiding.
- [21:52] Ulhan Blackflame: Others are Dragons that have been around for a long time
- [21:53] Ulhan Blackflame: With elven houses that were founded before the end watching the events play out while acting as vassals.
- [21:55] Veilcov: Was it accepted that this emperor was human?
- [21:56] Ulhan Blackflame: The Emperor was Dwarven, an exiled master mage seeking his own glory., but many will claim he was of their race, or even actually a woman.
- [21:56] Ulhan Blackflame: He still fucked everything though
- [21:57] Ulhan Blackflame: And had lots of sons and daughters that would be related to most of the rulers that served under those kingdoms.
- [21:57] Veilcov: How many human generations ago?
- [21:58] Ulhan Blackflame: Lets say this near constant warfare lasted about...Two hundred years, maybe one hundred and fifty?
- [22:02] Veilcov: So what brings us into the current era?
- [22:04] Ulhan Blackflame: The war has been over for a dozen or so years and people and the land begin to rebuild.
- [22:04] Ulhan Blackflame: That or lets say Fifty
- [22:04] Ulhan Blackflame: Fifty is a much longer time to rebuild and start over.
- [22:08] Veilcov: Hey I'm going to take a shower real quick, so I'll brb.
- [22:08] Ulhan Blackflame: Okay
- [22:39] Veilcov: Back!
- [22:40] Ulhan Blackflame: Yay
- [22:41] Veilcov: Okay, so we've got the outline for the lore pretty much?
- [22:42] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes
- [22:42] Ulhan Blackflame: The Last Wars left everyone weak but with their own goals now.
- [22:42] Ulhan Blackflame: Some want to conquer the world and form Harems.
- [22:42] Ulhan Blackflame: Others to amass welth
- [22:42] Ulhan Blackflame: Wealth*
- [22:43] Ulhan Blackflame: A few want glory
- [22:43] Ulhan Blackflame: With some looking only to survive
- [22:43] Veilcov: And those are our players, yes?
- [22:44] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes
- [22:45] Veilcov: Grand, it seems that we are coming along nicely, but there is still the issue of how we're going to handle the idea of republics and city states.
- [22:45] Veilcov: More so, should they really be a thing?
- [22:48] Ulhan Blackflame: City states are small states that don't grow, they are hubs of trade and other forms of commerce. Their leaders aren't royal like kings are, they lack the prestige to rule large tracts of land.
- [22:48] Ulhan Blackflame: Republics are city states that band together, forming a nation together
- [22:49] Ulhan Blackflame: Yet this nation together has enough power of a normal nation with all its noble families.
- [22:49] Ulhan Blackflame: The only difference is the level of their nobility and class
- [22:50] Veilcov: City states banding together?.... You do not know how much I love that idea.
- [22:51] Ulhan Blackflame: Lots
- [22:51] Veilcov: Stop knowing!
- [22:51] Ulhan Blackflame: Also pretty sure thats what happened as well
- [22:51] Veilcov: Well it's what was supposed to happen at least.
- [22:51] Veilcov: It's how it works really.
- [22:52] Ulhan Blackflame: We should institute time it takes to trade
- [22:52] Ulhan Blackflame: Making things like Alex trading with everyone instantly more like armies
- [22:52] Ulhan Blackflame: And depending upon the distance it becomes unreasonable to do them with certain people.
- [22:53] Veilcov: Oh, but a republic does need to be real in game republics joining, right?
- [22:53] Ulhan Blackflame: What?
- [22:54] Ulhan Blackflame: My mind is reading that wrong.
- [22:54] Veilcov: I mean city states joining together.
- [22:54] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes
- [22:54] Veilcov: I said republics twice, hah.
- [22:54] Veilcov: Regardless! I just don't want one ruler republics.
- [22:54] Veilcov: Or they turn into noble claims.
- [22:55] Ulhan Blackflame: Well thats one of the things keeping them weak
- [22:55] Ulhan Blackflame: People will try and gain leadership of a republic
- [22:55] Ulhan Blackflame: To make it their nation
- [22:56] Ulhan Blackflame: Like the Prince of Venice fighting the prince of...Some other place over there.
- [22:56] Ulhan Blackflame: Republics will be a hotbead of trade and hiring of Mercs
- [22:56] Ulhan Blackflame: Hot bed
- [22:56] Ulhan Blackflame: Also Pirates and bandits
- [22:57] Veilcov: well of course, I'm sure the republics will be chaos.
- [22:57] Veilcov: Unless they're ran by a leader and his sheep.
- [22:58] Veilcov: Oh, but I think expansion should really just be adding more states to their domain, or starting new states for their members to rule.
- [22:59] Veilcov: Thus creating a new canidate and vote.
- [22:59] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes
- [22:59] Ulhan Blackflame: I also think Provinces need to either have inhabited warlords and the like in them, to prevent claim this, claim that.
- [23:00] Ulhan Blackflame: So the Map has some grey for a while instead of turn three hey its modern day Europe.
- [23:01] Veilcov: Just like, all provinces?
- [23:01] Veilcov: That are unclaimed that is.
- [23:03] Ulhan Blackflame: Not all, some.
- [23:04] Ulhan Blackflame: Others will already have villages and the like maybe
- [23:04] Ulhan Blackflame: With people having to either buy the land from them or taking it by force.
- [23:04] Veilcov: Oh yeah, the new map will be land heavy.
- [23:04] Veilcov: Also, I like the idea of natives.
- [23:05] Veilcov: I think it would be cool to have a list of little native tribes that people could discover or bits of lore or mythology people could discover when they meet a tribe.
- [23:06] Ulhan Blackflame: I'd like that too.
- [23:06] Veilcov: Not that this would be a huge thing or anything like that, I mean writing a lore for every little village would be hard.
- [23:06] Veilcov: But you know, cultures they could come crossed and such.
- [23:07] Ulhan Blackflame: Not that hard really
- [23:09] Ulhan Blackflame: "The people of this land are common humans that worship a horse with a horn upon its head. The last of these said beast was a mount for a long forgotten hero. These people exclusively live off of horse meat."
- It will make people double check it like wat?
- [23:09] Veilcov: "Wh-Wha... One genocide please!"
- [23:13] Ulhan Blackflame: "This Bandit lord claims direct lineage to the first Hero and human king, several successor kings, and even the last grand emperor, but instead of rising into a great power with his royal blood he instead enjoys robbing the poor and giving to himself. The Irony of acting just like a noble by doing so is lost on him."
- [23:16] Veilcov: I'm sure the players would love these little things. Or not care about them... Regardless it's history and has a lore built into it so they'll appreciate it more.
- [23:28] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes, it could also factor into different bonuses each province gives.
- [23:29] Ulhan Blackflame: "This lands crops never fail, the people are able to grow no matter the condition or season, ensuring a wonderful harvest for all" This land always provides food as trade points to whoever controls it, plundering does not remove this
- [23:30] Ulhan Blackflame: "The Hills and swamps of this land are a strange quagmire of disease and death for the uninitiated. The locals however thrive and excel at defending their lands." Units station in defense here do not receive the penalty for fighting in swamps.
- [23:30] Ulhan Blackflame: Little things like that
- [23:33] Veilcov: Seems like good little things for them to care about. Makes the world feel more important than just a few tiles you know. I like the ideas we have here, this is a good little bundle of reforms.
- [23:33] Ulhan Blackflame: Yes
- [23:43] Ulhan Blackflame: Lets make a room to share this.
- [23:44] Veilcov: Right now or are you talking about Saturday?
- [23:47] Ulhan Blackflame: Whenever
- [23:48] Veilcov: Let's collect all our stuff tomorrow and have the status update on Saturday.
- [23:49] Ulhan Blackflame: Okay
