  1. Beegar held a huge wooden strut in place as another Wolfkin hammered it into place. The two took a rest.
  2. "Secund, I hear you have new pet?"
  3. "Yes, Beegar, she's a pretty one, but I have nothing for her to wear."
  4. Beegar wiped sweat his forehead and ears. "Then we shall fix that brother! I was going to take fluffy for a walk, bring yours, she will love the company."
  5. Secund grimaced, "but that doesnt fix the problem."
  6. Beegar put a hand on his brother's shoulder, "Fear not. We walk them to tailors. Buy dresses. Fluffy loves dresses."
  7. ---
  8. Beegar and Secund walked down the bustling street, each of them 7 foot tall muscled wolfmen. Behind them a centaur woman in an extravagent dress walked beside a petite human woman in plain, dull clothes. They both wore collars. Neither had spoken a word yet.
  9.
  10. "I am Aquamarine." The centaur woman said meekly, noticing the annoyed expression on the human woman's face.
  11.
  12. "I am Ciri, but this oaf calls me Crystal."
  13.
  14. Aquamarine giggled, "Be nice. I know they are odd...and they dont seem to hear us when we tell them our names, but he will pamper you. Its a hard world out their." The centaur blushed, "He calls me Fluffy. and you know what? I like it, Ive never been treated like this before."
  15.
  16. Ciri pouted, "Suit yourself."
  17.
  18. "Crystal is a feisty one!" Beegar said with a laugh, "You picked a fine pet."
  19.
  20. The two Wolfkin ducked into a doorway that was obviously not built for them. A very nervous looking centaur woman behind a counter looked up at the two of them. To her, seeing two scarred, warrior-wolfmen made her very concerned about getting robbed. The bigger wolfkin leaned down, his shadow bathing the woman in darkness, and he said in a low voice,
  21.
  22. "We wish to buy dresses."
  23.
  24. "I-Iam sorry- S-sir, but I dont think I have anything in your size."
  25.
  26. "No. Not for me." Beegar said flatly.
  27.
  28. The seamstress's eyes darted to the other wolfman, "I am-sorry sir, we dont have anything in your-"
  29. "No, dresses not for us! For pets." The two stepped aside to show the human and centaur pets.
  30.
  31. The seamstress seemed both confused and relieved. "Oh. I have their sizes."
  32.
  33. "Show us your dresses." Beegar said, still towering over her.
  34.
  35. She led them past centaur and human manikins. Beegar took particular interest in one centaur dress and ordered it without even getting Aquamarine to try it on. As his purchase was being packaged, Beegar saw Secund staring intently at a centaur manikin.
  36. "Secund. Tell me your thoughts."
  37. "I like this. I like this alot, but my pet isnt horse woman."
  38. "Then fix it. Make it non-horse woman dress."
  39. "I dont know how."
  40. Beegar looked shocked. He walked over to the seamstress, "Noble shopkeep of cloth and fine clothes, I wish to speak to my battle brother in private, please look over our pets while we talk." Beegar pulled the other Wolfkin out of the shop, leaving the seamstress alone with the two other women.
  41.
  42. "Secund, of the Behgust Clan. You are my brother in battle! We fought back to back against all odds, and you DONT KNOW HOW TO SEW!?"
  43. "Its hard. The needle is tiny, the thread tinier, my hands exist for lumber and heavy loads, not clothwork."
  44. Beegar put both claws on Secund's shoulders, his face very serious,
  45. "When the All-Wolf gave us these hands they were to be used. You cannot refuse work that requires these. If the All-Wolf comes one day he will take the hands of those who dont use them. These were this gift to our savage people. So I ask this: Do you like your pet?"
  46. "Yes."
  47. "Do you want to give her the finest things?"
  48. "Of course!"
  49. "The finest things are things made from your own sweat and hands. Come back inside and I will teach you, the art every Wolf must know, for it is the art that beautifies their pets."
  50. The two marched back inside, Beegar placed a bag of pearls on the counter. " Noble shopkeep. I request that dress their, and the use of your fabrics and sewing equipment."
  51. "Go-go right ahead." The seamstess stammered, more at the large pile of money than at the outlandish nature of it all.
  52.
  53. The two sat at a tiny table, with the centaur dress Secund liked, and Beegar took out a tiny needle and thread as he instructed Secund to pick up a pair of shears. "You, Secund, are lucky. horsewomen dress has much fabric, we must cut and sew. Take this..."
  54. "and this..."
  55. "and sew here..."
  56. "...oh, fear not brother, needles are violent adversaries, dont let a prick stop you in your conquest..."
  57.
  58. After two hours of frustration and needlework, Ciri, Aka Crystal was forced into a dress suited for a queen. As one Wolfkin appraised her look, the other was brushing her hair. She had to admit, she was starting to like this.
  59.
  60. Beegar frowned. "Its missing something."
  61. "Missing what?"
  62. The wolfman thought hard, getting low on his knees so he could look up at the woman instead of down.
  63.
  64. "She needs a hat."
