- Rain
- Looking at you on that day
- with the rain pouring down
- made all my worries fade away
- as we sat there in my room
- sipping our hot coffee
- and we sit watching netflix, looking for the moon
- and I remember vaguel how your hair smelled like toffee
- I remember how your muscles clench when you were scared
- or how your body vibrates when you laugh yourself to tears
- and how that night, we had no fears.
- I remember the warmth of your body as you came closer to me
- and how that heater shut down at 6:43,
- and we cuddle together for warmth.
- I remember how you told me that my breath smelled like mint
- and I smiled, but you gave me such a confused look
- and you asked me why i had such a big grin.
- I didn’t explain it to you, perhaps it was because i thought it was too wordy
- or i just didn’t know how to extract that idea, without it sounding dirty.
- but at that moment, we proved everyone wrong .
- how every single poem, article and song
- wanted to prove that our generation was fucked up and wanted us to sing along
- but in all reality we were just different,
- and how right now, in this moment.
- we were like any couple, from any age.
- watching it rain.
- I remember your hair smelled like toffee.
- and it was a wonderful thing.
- Just like that day when it rained.
