  1. At the start of your journey, you have the ability to choose your own starter, instead of the three predetermined starters of Water, Fire, and Grass. There are some restrictions that would not break the gameplay but none that truly limit the experience. A major feature Gracidea has over the official games and text-based Roleplays is that players are able to battle other players in real time where fights are not staged towards one specific RP character. Another great feature is that all players are also able to choose their own path they wish to follow instead of following a predetermined path. For example, players are able to choose 1 of 3 gyms in a certain area instead of going in a set order.
  2.
  3. Let us look into how the game is played for a bit. Whenever you are in a city, you can visit a variety of centers designed to aid your needs in your overall progress of the game. For example, there are Trade Centers, Battle Centers, Storage Areas, and a different variety of shops to buy items and TMs. Trade Centers allow you and another player to either trade Pokémon or items to one another. Battle Centers allow you to battle against other players who may be in the city you are in. Storage Areas allow you to deposit Pokémon you may not wish to train or in case you catch a Pokémon when you have more than 6 Pokémon in your main party. Some cities also have gyms in them, so be sure to check to see if the gym is open before challenging it.
  4.
  5. In addition to cities, there are several routes players will travel through to go from city to city. Here, a player will encounter 3 or 5 different Pokémon, depending on the route, and possibly an item. Let us look into one of the routes as an example, such as Gracecreek Meadow. Gracecreek Meadow is located in between Mysidia City and Kusa City. Here players can catch a variety of different Pokémon that are inhabitants of a Meadow-like region. For example, here is a sample encounter list of Gracecreek Meadow:
  6.
  7. Caterpie Level 6
  8. Electrike Level 9
  9. Burmy-G Level 9
  10. Meowth Level 10
  11. Ralts Level 5
  12.
  13. Players would then go down this list one-by-one and decide whether or not they should catch the Pokémon or “clobber” it. First up is Caterpie at Level 6. If I were to catch it, it would be added to my team at Level 6, with a certain amount of experience, and all level up moves Caterpie learns up to level 6. If I chose to “clobber” it, then I could divide the amount of experience amongst my team equal to the “clobbered” Pokémon’s level. For example, if I had a Growlithe and a Corphish on my team, I could decide to give all 6 experience points to either Growlithe or Corphish, or split the 6 experience points amongst them. The same would apply to all other Pokémon on this list.
  14.
  15. Once a player has decided on whether they should catch or clobber all Pokémon on their list, they may move to the next city or area. This can only happen though if an RPG staff member approves that a player has met the conditions to move onto the next city or area. You can find more information on how to play the game in this thread: A Guide to Gracidea
  16.
  17. To add to the overall experience for the players, we have decided to add various and widely ranging types of events. These can be any number of the following:
  18. Tournaments
  19. Pokemon or Item Giveaways
  20. Special
  21. Trades
  22. And many others
  23.
  24. One example of a daily event is the Traveling Battle Tent. At the tent you can challenge the daily battle in hopes of winning a prize and a good boost of EXP for your Pokemon.

So if you think you have what it takes, go to the Gracidea RP section, find the Staff List thread and read down to where it says to sign-up for a position. If we think you have what it takes you'll become a part of our staff team. Currently we are in search of a good mapper or landscape designer.
  47.
  48. NEW! We have an event ongoing in the Gracidea RP. You can check it out here: http://www.pokemonmysidia.com/forum/events/9443-first-legendary-pokemon-event.html

  50. Well, that is essentially Gracidea in a nutshell. I hope you decide to join the fun.
