Belzok Backstory

Belzok was once a city watchman of a small town in the nation of Elturel. He was primarily concerned with dealing with many of the small-time criminals infesting the streets but he did also bring down the occasional smuggling ring. One night he stepped into an evil far worse than the small-time criminals he usually dealt with. He does not remember much. There are memories of him holding a dying priestess covered in blood, she gives him a reliquary, and then there is him chasing down a hooded sorcerer who managed to escape via a powerful spell that left him confused and dazed. The street began to shake and houses began to topple. A monster bigger than a castle emerged from over the walls. He remembers dozens of red glowing eyes and rows of razor sharp teeth the size of a man. There is nothing but dust, smoke, and fire after. That night, Belzok barely escaped with his life. He woke up next to a river, having washed downstream. The reliquary given to him by the priestess was still tied to his neck and he held it as he took an Oath of Vengeance against the sorcerer, the monster, and the evil that spawned them. The red sun had risen on that bloody morning and bathed him in crimson radiance. After reaching another city he later formally joined the church of Bahamut and was trained as a Paladin warrior of good. HIs vow is to rage against the dying of the light. Since that time he has answered the call across the land to bring righteous vengeance upon the wicked all the while still searching for the evil sorcerer and his monstrous pet.
