  3. Avara has connected.
  4. DNA: Oh good, I'm actually in.
  5. Narrator: Was there concern you wouldn't be able to?
  6. DNA: Only a tiny bit, given the debacle with Mike on Sunday
  7. DNA: though, most likely, that had to do with where he was at the time.
  8. DNA: (I was getting odd error messages.)
  9. Avara: problem was mike's hamachi
  10. Narrator: ^
  11. DNA: Had a feeling.
  12. Actinidia has connected.
  13. Narrator: Nothing from Grace still?
  14. Avara: correct
  15. Narrator: Giving six minutes and then we'll begin.

  38. July 26th, Monday.
  39. 72 degrees F and it feels nice.
  40. Wind speeds have increased to 12 mph and it is sunny.
  41. It is 2:40 pm
  42. Actinidia, Etna, Grace and Pierce had recently underwent dramatic change and became Pokémon. Actinidia, the Grass-Type Snivy. Etna, the Ice and Rock-Type Amaura. Grace, the Fighting-Type Riolu. Pierce, the Steel and Rock-Type Aron. They have acquired a once Wolf-Spider companion by the name of Uraruren, currently a Bug and Poison-Type Spinarak.
  43. After reaching the Home Depot, the party encounters a group of Eevee fleeing the building for their lives. Inside they found one of the dead parents of these Eevee, killed in cold blood by a Pheromosa. Ordered to do so by her son she attacked the party and was killed soon after. Her son was knocked unconscious.
  44. Actinidia: "So. What will you do with the child?" Actinidia said to her allies.
  45. Pierce Mars Oswell: "The little fox or the little human?"
  46. Etna: "You say that like you have no involvement in the matter."
  47. Narrator whispers: You can hear quiet footsteps echoing through the area.
  48. Actinidia: "The human one. And you're correct Etna. What should we do with the child?" Actinidia amended her statement.
  49. Uraruren: Uraruren looks up for a moment and then looks at the ground.
  50. * Etna is mildly frustrated that Ura keeps doing that.
  51. * Pierce Mars Oswell looks around. "...did you hear that?"
  52. Narrator whispers: The footsteps grow quieter but you can feel a gentle vibration through the floor with each one.
  53. Pierce Mars Oswell: smelling test
  54. Pierce Mars Oswell: 5+4+6+5=20
  55. Uraruren: "I as going to ask...do you feel>b> that?"
  56. Uraruren: "I as going to ask...do you feel that?"
  57. DNA: must resist urge to make DBZA joke
  58. Etna: 2+2+1+0=5
  59. Etna: ((perception))
  60. Actinidia: Actinidia perked up and looked about, listening for movement.
  61. Narrator whispers: The smell of rust. Blood? Something new. Musky. Leathery.
  62. Actinidia: 1+5+1+3=10
  63. Etna: "Druddigon sighted to the north."
  64. Narrator whispers: You can begin to hear the footsteps more clearly. And feel them more readily through the floor.
  65. Uraruren: "Oh. Maybe that's what I was hearing."
  66. Pierce Mars Oswell: "And what I'm feeling."
  67. DNA: (Where's Etna's token? I don't see it)
  68. Druddigon: Druddigon pauses as he see's Etna, "Oh my. How unusual. Another around my size."
  69. Avara: etna is in bottom right corner
  70. Actinidia: ((She's around the corner))
  71. DNA: oh. That'd explain why I don't see her.
  72. Etna: Etna looks at Druddigon cautiously. "Hello."
  73. Druddigon: Druddigon gives a flourish low bow and holds it for a long moment.
  74. "...I say. Shall we compare heights?"
  75. Etna: "You can come closer. Why are you here?"
  76. Druddigon: "Why thank you. Hostilities can be rather unwanting, don't you say? I like to be rather cautious."
  77. Druddigon: Druddigon huffs a bit, "I've been avoiding my tyke of a child and his braindead mother. The two are safe enough, what with her 'power' and all."
  78. Druddigon: Druddigon shakes his head, "Oh, and do take care if you meet them. The child thinks this world a game. It'd be best to run. She's a rather elegant looking cockroach. White in color and rather tall."
  79. Etna: "You don't sound like you really like either of them. Didnt have time to get a divorce?"
  80. Grace has connected.
  81. Actinidia: Actinidia moved closer, at least until she could see Etna.
  82. Druddigon: "On the contrary, I love them both. It's just impossible to speak with the tyke after the transformation and he's coping with things in his own way."
  83. * Pierce Mars Oswell steps a little closer so he's behind Act.
  84. Druddigon: "I abhor violence so I'm on hand when I think I'm needed. But he's been beefing up the wife, so to speak, so I've been taking longer stays away from the two. Much to his dismay, but what can you do?"
  85. Etna: "Ah. Well. Whether or not hostilities begin is up to you, then. They attacked us, and... well, the last shot of the fight carried more power than intended."
  86. * Etna steps back and aside to let him through.
  87. Druddigon: Druddigon pauses and tilts head head, "...I'm sorry. I think I may have misheard you."
  88. Etna: "Your wife and son tried to murder us. Your wife died in the fight."
  89. Uraruren: "Incoming denial! Run for your lives!"
  90. Uraruren: Uraruren flee's the scene!
  91. ....to behind Mars.
  92. * Pierce Mars Oswell notices the spider, and...stands there, not moving.
  93. Druddigon: Druddigon moves closer to Etna, "That's...not possible." Druddigon says with a shaky voice.
  94. * Etna tilts her head to the side, indicating the direction.
  95. Etna: "We tried to keep her from dying, but we failed."
  96. Druddigon: Druddigon turns the corner and moves past Etna.
  97. Druddigon: Druddigon pauses when he see's Pheromosa and visibly shakes, "...Caroline..."
  98. Actinidia: "I tried to save what lives I could, but the flareon and Caroline couldn't be saved. The grass growing here should be helping your child."
  99. Druddigon: Druddigon runs to Caroline's side and kneels to her, "...No. No, no, no, no."
  100. Narrator: It heals 1d6 + 2, btw. The log had you list it as 1d6. Just wanted to clear that up in case of confusion.
  101. Actinidia: "...I'm sorry. We tried to talk our way out of the battle. Etna can even speak human, and traded words with your son."
  102. Druddigon: Druddigon scoops the Pheromosa up into his arms and cradles her, "Caroline! Caroline please tell me this is some sick joke! Caroline!"
  103. DNA: okay, the sheet also says 1D6+2 HP, so at least I didn't make a mistake.
  104. Pierce Mars Oswell: Upon hearing the Druddigon's words, Mars looks down at the ground and closes his eyes, overcome.
  105. Druddigon: Druddigon glanced up to see his son unconscious but his wounds knitting and then returns to squeezing the Pheromosa's dead body tightly against his chest.
  106. Druddigon: "...Leave me." Druddigon says lowly, "I don't know what I'll do if you stay. Leave me, please."
  107. Ben has connected.
  108. * Etna nods. "We can get the supplies we need without being near you."
  109. * Etna will walk away now.
  110. Uraruren: "Yay, Etna's back to my side!" Uraruren says as she climbs aboard the Amaura Express.
  111. Actinidia: "I understand..." Actinidia said. She took her leave of the Drudigon.
  112. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...Let's just go. Get what we need and go."
  113. * Pierce Mars Oswell started marching off with the others.
  114. Eevee: "U-uh. Uhm, so...?"
  115. Actinidia: "What is it, little one?"
  116. Grace Leonhardt: "So, it's time for us to go lil' one. I'll get your father." She'll say as she walks over and tries to lift him enough to get moving.
  117. Actinidia: Actinidia crouched to speak with the Eevee.
  118. Vaporeon 1: Vaporeon 1 weighs 127.8 lbs.
  119. Eevee: "O-Oh. Okay."
  120. Grace: My carry weights good, it's at 200lbs
  121. Narrator: Aww Yeah~
  122. DNA: Grace swole
  123. Narrator: Alright so, am I to assume everyone'll just gather up supplies and stuff until they're at max weight?
  124. Grace Leonhardt: She'll struggle for a little bit, but she'll get him onto her back, and skedaddle. She still tries to keep an eye out for any signs of the other eevees.
  125. Actinidia: yes
  126. DNA: Mm, indeed. Should we report how much spare capacity we have?
  127. Actinidia: Actinidia currently has 77.9 lbs of gear. Carry Weight is 125 and max weight is 250
  128. Narrator: That'll help total how much you guys actually have.
  129. DNA: Current: 63, carry weight: 175, max carry weight: 350
  130. Avara: Etna is currently carrying 71.5lbs and one Uraruren. Capacity is 200/400.
  131. Grace Leonhardt: Current 29.9+127.8 of vaporeon+lil' vee if it wants a ride with it's dad. Carry 200 Max 400
  132. Uraruren: Uraruren weighs 9.3 lbs and is carrying 0 lbs with a max weight of 160 lbs.
  133. Avara: do we have enough food at base to keep everyone comfortably fed?
  134. Grace: Considering the fruits, vegies, and preserved things we're good for a bit. Though it never hurts to be well stocked.
  135. Avara: asking because we WERE going to hit up a grocery store
  136. Narrator: That'll leave 1189.9 weight among the party.
  137. DNA: That's enough for almost...three shovels!
  138. Narrator: That's pounds. Soz!
  139. Avara: ... damnit DNA
  140. Avara: shovel knight music
  141. DNA: Not my intent, but hey, whatever works.
  142. Ben whispers: what level are you guys? If I might inquire
  143. Grace: personally the DLC campiegns were the best, not that the vanilla one is close to bad.
  144. Narrator: If you want to leave room for food, let me know. You can, of course, grab stuff and move on to the supermarket.
  145. Ben: (( >_> Can't say I agree with that, but I enjoyed the DLCs ))
  146. You whisper to Ben: Level 3
  147. Narrator: Just bear in mind what it means to be above Carry Weight.
  148. Avara: and what does it mean?
  149. DNA: I think it'd be smarter to grab food here where possible. That way it saves us a trip and avoids risk later on.
  150. DNA: ...I think it means something like halved speed
  151. Actinidia: Lets save at least 200-300 pounds for food.
  152. Narrator: A character can carry up to the weight based on their encumbrance value. Going over that weight causes their Speed to be temporarily reduced to 5 and for their Dexterity and Resistance to no longer factor into their Defense and Special Defense. Reducing their carried weight underneath this threshold removes the penalties.
  153. Ben whispers: what background / class did you guys get/have
  154. Narrator: Should a character end up with more weight than twice as much as the weight based on their encumbrance value (represented by the Max Carry Weight), their Defense and Special Defense temporarily becomes reduced to 7 and they cannot use move actions.
  155. Avara: is there any food in this building?
  156. Grace: meaning we can't be attacked until we unload.
  157. Actinidia: Reduced to 5 isn't as bad as being reduced by 5.
  158. Narrator: There are snack goods by the register.
  159. You whisper to Ben: Act is a healer, Grace is a sweeper, I'm a wall, and I don't remember what Etna is
  160. Narrator: And snack goods in the vending machines.
  161. Avara: so not really anything of substance.
  162. Actinidia: nuts and trail mixes could work
  163. Actinidia: but not in bulk volume
  164. DNA: yeah, if that's the case, we may have to hit up a grocery store to get actual food for long periods of time. Meal bricks are just for daily excursions and such.
  165. Narrator: Snack foods include chocolates, candies, sodas, salted sunflower seeds, trail mix, beef jerky, gum (by the register).
  166. Actinidia: salted sunflower seeds, trail mix and beef jerky. All of it.
  167. Avara: trail mix and jerky might be good to grab anyway.
  168. Narrator: The vending machines have: Twinkies, chocolates, ramen cups, sodas.
  169. Avara: so those will take up some of our supply weight.
  170. Grace: To be fair, we aren't entirely pressured for packaged food collection. Just like the white house base, the non-once humans don't entirely know foood packaging contains food just yet.
  171. Actinidia: I wonder what the effects of Soda and Chocolate is.
  172. Actinidia: If things like Coffee have effects.
  173. Narrator: Pretty sure some people in the party HAVE soda.
  174. Actinidia: Actinidia tries some chocolate to see if she feels an effect on herself..
  175. Grace: Though the food Grace is gonna nab is totally the chocolate, and twinkes because chocolate's that good sh*t, and she's seen enough apocolypse comedies to appreciate twinkies.
  176. Actinidia: You have the choice between hershey and godiva chocolate.
  177. DNA: Mars will prioritise the bulk foods like the jerky, sunflower seeds, and trail mix - the stuff that will last a lot longer.
  178. Actinidia: Godiva
  179. Actinidia: Actinidia gains 1 Aura for 1 hour.
  180. Actinidia: "This is really good..." Actinidia takes what the vending machine has.
  181. Narrator: Okay so: How much stuff are folks taking here? In terms of supplies and foods?
  182. Narrator: ...And how much of it is being kept in your inventories?
  183. Grace: Grace will grab whatever chocolate she can, she's not entirely picky.
  184. Avara: etna will carry up to her max in supplies for building, letting the others decide whether or not to bother with the food here.
  185. Actinidia: Priority: All the Godiva Chocolate. All the trail mix and jerky. All the building materials.
  186. Narrator: Hershey Chocolate is .2 lbs. Godiva is 0.4 lbs. There are 30 bars of Hershey and 14 bars of Godiva. Just to be up front (because you and Rob both wanted it).
  187. Actinidia: You know, I'll take all of both.
  188. DNA: I'll take whatever is necessary up to building supplies for weight. Ideally I want to remain under basic carry, but otherwise, I'll nab what's left of the trail mix/jerky that Act doesn't grab
  189. Narrator: Okay, so...
  190. Grace and Actinidia bump into each other as they both reach for the chocolate.
  191. Narrator: (( Because you BOTH are grabbing it. You'll need to figure out who has what. ))
  192. Actinidia: Half and half
  193. Grace: Grace will give a determined look, and holds out her hand for rock paper sissors, but splitting half and half is fine too.
  194. Avara: grace is a chocolate addict
  195. Narrator whispers: The seeds are 0.1 lbs. - there are 60. Trail mix is 0.5 lbs. - there are 30. Beef Jerky is 1.2 lbs. - there are 45.
  196. Actinidia: do they both have the same effect?
  197. Grace Leonhardt: dood, I don't care if I let my chocoholic slip into this character, but it'd be fun to do so.
  198. Narrator: Hershey is +1. Godiva is +1d3.
  199. DNA: 6.0+15.0+54.0 for some planning
  200. Actinidia: Okay, so with half I have an additional 4.4 pounds of chocolate.
  201. DNA: that totals to 75, I can easy take all of that
  202. Grace Leonhardt: Ditto!
  203. DNA: Now I need to figure out how to record this in my sheet, because the inventory is lookup-based
  204. Narrator: Prepare for custom items, bruh. There'll be plenty.
  205. DNA: fffuuu.
  206. Narrator: Alright, so you guys have your stuff.
  207. Uraruren: Uraruren is carrying 160 lbs. of supplies. Fuck food.
  208. Grace Leonhardt: She murders it fresh!
  209. Narrator: And just to make sure I have your next destination in mind: The Supermarket, right?
  210. Actinidia: ((she finds food all the time! It's so abundant she just left some in the arms of a grieving husband))
  211. Narrator: Speaking of...
  212. As you all collect supplies and chocolates (also snack foods on DNA's part), you do so to the song of the Druddigon's sobs. It echoes eerily throughout the entire home depot.
  213. Narrator: Which, y'know, for human children who can't speak Pokémon, that probably sounds terrifying rather than sad.
  214. Avara: yay we're horrible!
  215. Actinidia: So how full is everyone's inventories?
  216. * Pierce Mars Oswell tries his best to tune out the song before it starts affecting him more.
  217. Pierce Mars Oswell: 136.5/170 (or 350)
  218. Avara: etna's inventory is at max.
  219. Pierce Mars Oswell: I have the trail mix/seeds/jerky, but nothing else
  220. Actinidia: okay, then supermarket.
  221. Uraruren: Totes max, bruh.
  222. Avara: she loses all of 1 speed and has her defense and special defense lowered
  223. Narrator: To 10!
  224. Narrator: Unless you have the thing. Who has the thing anyways? Grace?
  225. Avara: last i heard it was in act's mitts
  226. Actinidia: Actinidia is holding Eviolite.
  227. Grace Leonhardt: Das right, Grace don't have the shiny rock.
  228. Narrator: Awesome. Have folks been factoring in the bonus health
  229. Actinidia: yes
  230. Actinidia: +20 is hooge
  231. Narrator: Also, are you guys dropping the Eevee and unconscious Vaporeon at the Grove before moving to Safeway?
  232. Pierce Mars Oswell: Ah! Yeah, we are definitely doing that.
  233. Actinidia: That was a good diea.
  234. Pierce Mars Oswell: I do recall that being part of the arrangement.
  235. Grace Leonhardt: Grace is gonna try and look for the other vees if there not there at the grove, though they did run that way.
  236. Avara: if they'll accept them, that sounds neat.
  237. Narrator: Alright. That'll take all of like, 15 minutes.
  238. Grace Leonhardt: Worth it.
  239. Arriving at the Grove, you can see there's been commotion and many of the Eevee's you saw fleeing the Home Depot are there. However, before you enter in the Grove proper, an Abra appears before you. Literally, from nowhere. Some of you may even imagine a pop sound to credit his appearance.
  240. DNA: Like Goku!
  241. Abra 2: "Ah, the monsters return." Abra 2 says as he sniffs the air, "You smell of death. To what may I owe your return to our protected home?"
  242. Uraruren: "You know, you guys aren't very nice." Uraruren says with a hiss, "But, you're protective of the clutch. I can respect that." Uraruren nods.
  243. Actinidia: "We found a human commanding a pokemon to attack everything across their path. And we found this eevee and injured vaporeon. Since they were not monsters, we thought that they might find a welcome, safer home here."
  244. Actinidia: "We have no intention to travel closer than your borders."
  245. Grace Leonhardt: "We were looking for the eevees that ran this way in a panic. Mainly to make sure that they were safe. We wanted to deliver their father and sibling that stayed to them... Sadly the mother isn't coming..."
  246. Abra 2: Abra 2 turns to the Eevee briefly and huffs, "They've been welcomed considering their recent experiences. They've explained as much."
  247. Grace Leonhardt: "Is it possible that you can take the father and the remaning little one?"
  248. Abra 2: "We intend to raise them despite them being monsters themselves. Hopefully in time, that'll change." Abra 2 turns back to the group, "You may leave the parent monster and mini monster here as well. We'll do what we can for them."
  249. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...you're a lot more talkative than you were last time."
  250. Abra 2: "We never spoke." Abra 2 says bluntly.
  251. Actinidia: "Thank you for your aid."
  252. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Fair."
  253. Actinidia: Actinidia steps back, signalling her intention to leave.
  254. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will set the Father down, and motion for the lil' vee to come over.
  255. Abra 2: Abra 2 nods and will lift both the Eevee and Vaporeon into the air with some sort of psychic technique, "They will be safe here." Abra 2 begins to walk deeper into the grove, the Eevee and Vaporeon floating behind him.
  256. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will let out a relieved sigh, and gives a small wave goodbye, before joining Act, and steping back as well.
  257. Eevee: "Hwuh!? Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh!" Eevee kicks his feet into the air from the sudden disposition.
  258. Avara: abra is 100% the rood.
  259. Narrator: Alright! Onward to...the Supermarket!
  260. Actinidia: After leaving, Actinidia spoke up to her allies. "I was the one who landed the killing blow, who didn't hold back. Don't feel guilty for what you part in the battle. You all defended yourselves. I killed a fleeing woman." Actinidia's voice was calm, artificially so. Whatever her emotional state was, she wasn't sharing it with the group.
  261. Narrator: Alright, there's no encounters between the Grove and Safeway. So, feel free to get in some roleplay if you want. Develop those characters!
  262. Pierce Mars Oswell: "If you didn't, I would have."
  263. Narrator: When you guys are satisifed, say when and I'll describe the Safeway environment.
  264. Pierce Mars Oswell: "It's like I said before. If I were in her position I would have done the same thing."
  265. Avara: does anyone have carry room for safeway food?
  266. Grace Leonhardt: Grace was a bit calmer after the fight, and with the vees safe as they can be now. She'll be a bit hesitant, but she'll walk over and pat Act on the shoulder. "You didn't mean any true malice with it. We're still learning how to... well BE. this was just the wrong place an wrong time."
  267. Actinidia: "You don't know that. You weren't standing where I was, where I could see her. Don't take the blame for something you didn't do."
  268. DNA: I have a little!
  269. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Who said anything about blame?"
  270. Grace: I'm now 127lbs lighter!
  271. DNA: ayy
  272. Avara: 127 lbs sounds like a lot of food.
  273. Actinidia: Actinidia then turned to Grace. "And you don't know that either. I forgot to hold back, in part because I didn't care all that much. I was attacked for no reason, furious that my life was put on the line by an idiot child and a mother too passive to do anything about it. At the time, that was all I could think about. If there was anything else there, I might have stopped myself. I could have held back, or let them run away."
  274. Actinidia: "I said "blame" Mars. And I accept it. And I wont have any of you feeling sorry about something I did."
  275. Pierce Mars Oswell: "I don't feel sorry for you. Why would I? You'd kill somebody to protect your children, wouldn't you?" he asked, though his voice wasn't cold and unfeeling as he said that.
  276. MER: In one of the nearby cars, the radio still plays. Who's keeping the radio network going now?
  277. MER: "I wasn't ready when my name was called. Always thought that the line was long."
  278. MER: "It doesn't really matter cuz life rolls on. When we're here and when we're finally gone."
  279. MER: "All I know is the timings right. We're not alone when the sirens fire."
  280. Actinidia: "Thats..." Actinidia rubbed her head. "That's not what I meant. You were near crying in that warehouse, you were sorry for something."
  281. Pierce Mars Oswell: "It had nothing to do with that insect. But, right now, I don't want to talk about it. Ask me later."
  282. Grace Leonhardt: "We were sorry that it happened, not that you did it, or we were involved with the fight. We've fought many times already."
  283. Actinidia: Actinidia was quiet after that.
  284. Grace Leonhardt: "My advice Act? Remember what happened, and try to prevent it from happening to you. Both ways might I ad. You have two young ones of your own, and everyone has friends or family of their own. As long as you keep that in mind, you'll be good. That and you regret what's happened hun. That's good too. When there's not regret, that's when you need to let us know."
  285. MER: "Daylights falling on the waves I've been calling. May your days find where fortune lives."
  286. MER: "May you leave with nothing left to give. I wasn't ready when my name was called..."
  287. MER: The music ends and surprisingly, a voice cuts onto the air, "Alright folks. That was Daylight by Foxworth Hall. Beautiful song, that. Good thing I can still understand it, amiright?"
  288. Actinidia: "Interesting. Live radio."
  289. MER: "Hopefully those of you out there can still understand it too. I'm not sure if those still human would bother with music nowadays. But we all need a little something to keep us steady. So! I'll keep this baby going for as long as I breathe. So, how about a little more Foxworth Hall? Up next, Waiting."
  290. Actinidia: "We should find a portable radio. If there is going to be communication like this."
  291. Etna: "Maybe we should try and find the radio station some time."
  292. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...where's that radio even coming from?"
  293. Actinidia: "That car over there."
  294. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...oh."
  295. Grace Leonhardt: "...Do we have our own three dog?"
  296. Actinidia points to a beat up red car in the parking lot of the Safeway supermarket.
  297. Actinidia: "Sounds like it."
  298. MER: "From a house made of cards on a cliff, I'm praying there won't be wind."
  299. Grace Leonhardt: "Does... this mean we should ad a radio to our looking list?" She'll say as she wanders over, to check what station is playing.
  300. Actinidia: "The supermarket might have a portable radio. You never know what small gadgets they have."
  301. Actinidia: "Lets get what we came for and head out."
  302. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Sure. And it couldn't hurt to have a radio if we can get it hooked up. There might be more than just music stations."
  303. You stand before the Safeway supermarket. It's barely recognizable with the sign reading S A _ _ _ A Y. Before long, people won't even know the name of this building.
  304. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Hopefully there won't be few things available left to grab."
  305. Grace Leonhardt: "It's... just simply MER as the station. Fair enough." She'll say as she wanders back over. "We... might be able to get a radio ad for what we're trying to set up for peopl- uh... pokemon that want to join the white house movment we got going on?"
  306. Etna: "When we're actually set up enough to support that sort of thing."
  307. Actinidia: "We shouldn't grow faster than we can handle. But in the future, yes."
  308. Grace Leonhardt: She'll nod her head simply in response.
  309. Actinidia: Actinidia listened for any noise inside the Safeway.
  310. Actinidia: 6+4+3+3=16
  311. Actinidia: Perception Hearing.
  312. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will try to keep an eye out for anything as well.
  313. The metal shopping carts normally lined up before the automatic door entrance have all been ripped apart of crush, literally, into the pavement. Not even shattered pavement. It's IN the pavement, almost fused into it. The automatic doors have several countertop stations stacked against it to prevent entry and all the windows into the building have been boarded up so you can't even see inside. From its obvious entrance, there seems to be no entry.
  314. Pierce Mars Oswell: Smelling!
  315. Pierce Mars Oswell: 6+3+5+5=19
  316. Grace Leonhardt: 1+6+5+0=12
  317. Grace Leonhardt: Sight noice
  318. Actinidia: "Yep, it's been claimed, by the looks of the outside. I hear talking in the inside. Can't understand it, probably human."
  319. Narrator whispers: You can smell Pokemon and Human here. From within the building.
  320. * Etna listens.
  321. Etna: 4+3+2+0=9
  322. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Yeah, there's groups of both inside. Someone's claimed this as a safe haven already."
  323. Actinidia: "I'm not willing to fight others for supplies."
  324. Actinidia: Actinidia tapped her chin, "Perhaps I could offer some of my healing techniques, if any are injured."
  325. Etna: "Not unless it becomes absolutely necessary. But maybe they'll be willing to part with some plant seeds or something?"
  326. Etna: "I can't hear anything they might be saying, though."
  327. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Maybe, yeah. But we'll basically be on their terms. And we aren't looking for any fights."
  328. Actinidia: "I don't know the language, so it might be human. Do you want to greet them Etna?"
  329. Etna: "Don't know where we'd do the greeting at."
  330. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will be scanning around, though she can't help but stare at the Holllywood video across the street. She was kinda zoned out thought when staring at it.
  331. Uraruren: "So, as I've been instructed, I'm going to speak up."
  332. Uraruren: "We're at someone elses clutch, so to speak. One that they felt to protect. They likely have a separate location for entry that isn't obvious."
  333. Uraruren: "And while we could probably offer services for trade, may we also factor in the possibility that we'd be placing ourselves as targets by an entire clutch? We did come here with supplies from another place that they may need. Need enough to the point they may feel they can take if they have the numbers."
  334. Uraruren: "At least, in my mind, I wouldn't take risk of trade or services of strangers who just strolled up to my clutch. But if they had what I wanted, I'd just take it."
  335. Etna: "Yeah. Let's just go home."
  336. * Pierce Mars Oswell nods in assent.
  337. Actinidia: "That works."
  338. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will zone back in. "Wait wot? Uh... Maybe bursting in, or even saying hello is a bad idea then... Though mind if we go over to that video rental place over there guys? We might be able to snag some movie foods there."
  339. Actinidia: "If it's right there no reason not to look. But we can't be delayed too much."
  340. Uraruren: Uraruren turns to the place Grace is pointing out and blinks, "A...what? What sort of building is that?" Uraruren asks, "I can't read that ancient writing you know."
  341. Grace Leonhardt: "Oh uh... well it's kinda a building that would let you borrow movies and apparently videogames, and... wait. Wait. Wait wait wait... I can read that sign... Why can I read that?"
  342. Etna: "Used to be people could make long moving pictures with sound that showed stories for entertainment. Usually. It required a lot of equipment most pokemon can't use, actors, and other stuff."
  343. Etna: "Theaters like that showed movies like that. Other theaters are dedicated to showing stories by acting them out live."
  344. Etna: "They tend to have food that isn't very nutritious, but has a sweet taste to it. And popcorn, which I don't even know how to describe the taste."
  345. Grace Leonhardt: "And uh, games are version that you could play. Etna? Can you read that too? You know the difference between human and pokemon right? What is that written in?"
  346. Grace Leonhardt: She'll say pointing at the store's sign.
  347. Narrator whispers: You can't read either of the signs at al.
  348. Etna: ".. Oh, no. Not a theater. That's a store for bringing home discs that have movies on them. And a game store off to the side."
  349. * Pierce Mars Oswell cannot read the signs.
  350. Narrator: Alright guys, gonna take a 5-minute break. Emi just woke up and I want to get her set up so she won't be distracting me.
  351. Actinidia: Actinidia is willing to follow people in, if they are interested.
  352. Avara: break sounds good.
  353. Ben is disconnected.
  354. Ben is disconnected.
  355. DNA: aiiiiiight. I don't mind investigating the video store.
  356. Grace Leonhardt: -w-7
  357. Narrator: That was more like a 15 minute break. Sorry.
  358. Actinidia: is kay
  359. Grace Leonhardt: tis good
  360. Avara: hakuna matata
  361. DNA: aight
  362. Narrator: Running is noisier than walking, but who has time for walking?! You've got places to be, people to meet!
  363. Narrator: Sorry, loading screen for Emi's Fallout 4. Got her set up to play it.
  364. Narrator: So! People are going into the Hollywood Video, right?
  365. Actinidia: sounds like it
  366. Grace Leonhardt: Grace is gonna be rather sceptical of the place due to her sudden ability to read english, but ye.
  367. DNA: Correct
  368. Avara: is very suspicious.
  369. Avara: but we could also read the SA___AY of the supermarket
  370. Avara: but yeah investimagating
  371. Narrator whispers: You can smell kind of sort of Weedle in the area. You've encountered a Weedle before. You smell something very similar to it. But distinctly not Weedle.
  372. When you stand before the door leading into the Hollywood Video you realize it's an automatic door. That slowly whirrs to life and slides open on its own.
  373. Pierce Mars Oswell: "I think there's some kind of...insect here?"
  374. Grace Leonhardt: "It... still has power?"
  375. Actinidia: "Seems so."
  376. Etna: "Not familiar with how power plants work, but maybe there's enough function still going on that places will have power until it all runs out, or someone wrecks the wires."
  377. Etna: "Act, if we've got possible bug types, make sure to stay safe."
  378. Actinidia: Actinidia nodded.
  379. Narrator: So, safe to assume you guys are going inside?
  380. Grace Leonhardt: "That or there might be a generator. So if there's bugs, there might be that small electric tic one if there's power here? I don't remember what it's called."
  381. Grace Leonhardt: Ye
  382. Actinidia: Actinidia is still following, since this was not her location of choice. She'll enter after Grace does.
  383. Stepping into the Hollywood Video you see many of the old VHS and newer DVDs are scattered all over the floor from the racks and stands. The concession stands still hold the snack foods.
  384. Narrator whispers: Stepping inside you're nearly smacked in the face by that kind of sort of Weedle scent. The scent seems to be coming from above...
  385. * Pierce Mars Oswell looks up.
  386. Narrator: Looking up, you see 9 Kakuna latched onto the ceiling, motionlessly.
  387. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...what are those?"
  388. Avara: initially misread kakuna as kahuna. Wait what, why's Hala here to make us hollar?
  389. Narrator: All except one are Small size. The one is Tiny.
  390. Actinidia: "Bug types. Kakuna."
  391. DNA: hau you doin'
  392. Etna: "Bug/Poison, specifically."
  393. Grace Leonhardt: "Uh... Don't disturb them. Their adult versions are a bit like wasps so pissing them off would be a bad idea... then again maybe they're a bit calmer than what they're known for?"
  394. Etna: "Not much reason to pick a fight either way."
  395. Actinidia: "Leaving seems like a good idea."
  396. Grace Leonhardt: "... but I kinda wanna see if we can tell what's going on with the sign. I can't read english anymore... I think."
  397. Etna: "Maybe they remade the signs?"
  398. Pierce Mars Oswell: "I couldn't read the signs, though."
  399. Etna: "Hm. Weird."
  400. Etna: "We can come back when they're feeling more talkative, though?"
  401. Etna: "Either they're asleep or they're cautious of us."
  402. Actinidia: Does it look like they're watching us?
  403. Grace Leonhardt: "Wait, you can't read it Pierce? Can you read it Etna?"
  404. Narrator: You can only see their backs as they're clinging to the ceiling.
  405. Actinidia: "What signs?"
  406. Etna: "Hollywood Video and Hollywood Games, if I remember right."
  407. Grace Leonhardt: "Oh uh, the ones out front. I could tell that this was a Hollywood Video with a Hollywood Game attached just by the signs and stuff. Yeah! Uh, exactly. Well, without walking out etna, do you remember what it was written in?"
  408. * Etna attempts to Rememberificatize.
  409. Avara: we haven't had a non-specialization talent yet, so nobodys been able to pick up Read Human. if this was an oops, we can retcon etna's specialization (Which hasn't actually gotten any use yet) to be a Linguistics talent.
  410. Actinidia: Actinidia goes to look. Can she read it?
  411. Narrator: Are my messages just lagging in?
  412. Actinidia: "I can't read it."
  413. Pierce Mars Oswell: Maaaaaaaybe? I haven't seen one from you in a while. Unless you're whispering.
  414. Narrator: Just wanted to make sure the delays aren't because of that.
  415. Avara: we got a message from you about only seeing the kakunas' backs
  416. Avara: then a message asking about lag
  417. Avara: nothing in between
  418. Narrator: 'kay. We're good then.
  419. Avara is disconnected.
  420. Actinidia: "Are we going to head back then?"
  421. Avara has connected.
  422. Pierce Mars Oswell: "hmmm...probably. Just to be safe."
  423. Avara: had to move lappy out of stable wifi range. sorry.
  424. Grace Leonhardt: "I'm... still kinda spooked by suddenly being able to read. I kinda like... wanna see the roof or something? And yeah, there's probably some kind of roof access outside right?"
  425. Actinidia: "Grace, Etna? Want to head out?"
  426. Etna: "I'm good with getting out. And maybe coming back later. But mainly getting out."
  427. Grace Leonhardt: "Yeah, yeah. Leaving is probably for the best."
  428. Actinidia: Actinidia leaves for the White House
  429. Narrator: Alrighty then. Oh, wait, ALL the way back? Oh, okay then.
  430. Actinidia: As far as I know, unless anyone else has any stops
  431. Grace Leonhardt: Grace kinda wants to get onto the roof of that place to see what's up with the signs if anything obvious is happening.
  432. Avara: Etna, lacking grabby things for climbing, will have to sit out any rooftop shenanigans.
  433. Narrator: There's no fire escape or anything leading to the top of the building. Any roof access would be from inside. Unless you're good at scaling buildings. Or flying.
  434. Narrator: Or rope.
  435. Avara: or spiderclimbing.
  436. Avara: but we don't want to make ura in danger again.
  437. Grace Leonhardt: rip, no rope, and she's definitely not gonna send her up just to make sure she's not tripping balls.
  438. Narrator: How much does Grace weigh?
  439. Grace Leonhardt: grace is 44.5lbs.
  440. Narrator: Uraruren, if she puts down her 160 lbs of supplies, can just drag Grace up there.
  441. Narrator: She can comfortably carry up to 80 lbs.
  442. Grace: Oh my god, that's helarious.
  443. Uraruren: "All aboard the ME TRAIN!"
  444. DNA: Make it so.
  445. Uraruren: Uraruren puts down her supplies and will grab Grace by her hand and proceed to walk up the wall of the building until she reaches the top, taking Grace with her.
  446. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will look over rather confused. "What do you mean UraaaAAA!" She'll say completely caught off guard leaving her own suplies behind. Though she'll calm down just as quickly when she realizes what she was doing. Though the stunned silence just settles in at that point as she rides the spooder train.
  447. Narrator: Standing on top of the building you get a good look of the area. You can barely make out the Chipotle place where you found the Rice family and even further down see the White House. However, you immediately notice that all the signs you can see are in a language you can't understand. But the Hollywood Video sign you still can read fine. Though, somehow, Actinidia and Mars can't.
  448. Narrator: I'm gonna cut the game short tonight. In like, 15 minutes. I want to meet Kayla by the bus stop. Don't want her coming home alone this time of night.
  449. DNA: Gotcha.
  450. Avara: *hugs!*
  451. Avara: i'm fine with an early end.
  452. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will now be completely thrown through a loop She'll mumble to herself that she isn't actually crazy. "Ura, can you read that?" SHe'll say as she approaches to poke at the sign.
  453. Narrator: Also, I told Emi you're a Pokemon Professor, DNA. I regret nothing.
  454. Grace: Fair enough! I'm fine with that
  455. Narrator: She's super excited to meet you.
  456. Grace: Dawwww
  457. Avara: DNA, get your coat!
  458. Narrator: DNA owns a pokemon professor labcoat.
  459. Avara: that's awesome
  460. Grace: ... I should get a doctor coat.
  461. Uraruren: "Huh? No. That's ancient language, girl." Uraruren shrugs, "I'm still weirded out you can."
  462. DNA: I was instructed to bring said coat. I'll probably regret it, but hey. Also I don't know what weekend you're in town.
  463. Grace Leonhardt: "The thing is, it's just this sign??? I can see other ones just fine, and I can't read them!" She'll take the moment, to get up close and poke at the sign, her agrivatied confusion starting to show.
  464. Avara: brb
  465. DNA: aggravated
  466. Actinidia: Does the sign seem to use the same alphabet as the other signs?
  467. Grace: rip my english
  468. Actinidia: "looks the same to me."
  469. Narrator: Also, DNA: We'll be leaving July 20th. That's a Thursday. So we'll be in town that weekend.
  470. Narrator: When Grace pokes the sign the power in it flickers out.
  471. DNA: That weekend, I see. I'll have to make arrangements. Which is better, Sunday, Saturday, or some other day?
  472. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will blink a few times, and rub them. After a few moments of hesitation, she'll step back, and forth tyring to get a decent angle on them. "I... can't read it anymore...?"
  473. Narrator: Not sure, honestly. We should probably wing it. As I'm not sure exactly what we'll be doing in Cali until we get there. Kayla sort of has the reigns on events as its her hometown.
  474. DNA: Gotcha. I ask because I'm going to be at a wedding that Saturday, so that will eat up most (if not all) of my afternoon.
  475. Narrator: We'll avoid that day then. :P
  476. DNA: eyy
  477. Uraruren: "You can't?" Uraruren looks at it for a long moment, "Did something change? Looks the same to me."
  478. Actinidia: "Maybe you can read energy? I don't see why the power being on would make it possible to read, but that's the only difference."
  479. Avara: back
  480. Etna: "Huh. Can't read it anymore."
  481. Grace Leonhardt: "I... Yeah, that's why I'm confused? Litterally everything else I couldn't read but this now it joins the rest." She'll scratch at her head. "I guess that's the end of that mystery? Wait, you can't read it Etna? I thought you could read english?"
  482. Etna: "I can SPEAK human."
  483. Etna: "I can't read it."
  484. Avara: wait is grace still on the roof?
  485. Narrator: Her and Uraruren are.
  486. Avara: etna weighs over 100 lbs. not hauled up by ura.
  487. Avara: so neither should be hearing the other.
  488. Avara: or act, if she didn't go up.
  489. Grace Leonhardt: oops
  490. Narrator: You could if you're yelling.
  491. Avara: which seems like a bad idea to me, so i'm not.
  492. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will ask to be carried back down once it returns to what it normally should be, and hse reports what's going on to the others.
  493. Actinidia: "Maybe you can read energy? I don't see why the power being on would make it possible to read, but that's the only difference."
  494. Etna: "So it stopped working when you poked it, and we can't read it anymore. But why could you and I read it?"
  495. Uraruren: "Alrighty, let's getta going." Uraruren will hold Grace over the edge of the building before descending along the side of the wall, "Going dooooooown."
  496. Etna: "And not anyone else?"
  497. Etna: "... Maybe it has something to do with people being able to see in the dark?"
  498. Actinidia: "I can see in the dark."
  499. Grace Leonhardt: "Maybe...? But it doesn't make much sense if it was just me... right?"
  500. Etna: "It wasn't just you."
  501. Etna: "But if Act can see in the dark, then that's not it either."
  502. DNA: Excuse me, but 15 minutes have passed, so do you wish to wrap this up speedily?
  503. Avara: beep beep vrroooooom
  504. Narrator: Next week I'll have it start with some minor roleplay and then the encounter you'll inevitably have for the super long trip back to the White House.
  505. Actinidia: okay
  506. Narrator: Experience gain:
  507. 350 EXP.
  508. Grace: Noice
  509. Actinidia: Actinidia gains 350 experience points.
  510. Uraruren: Uraruren gains 350 experience points.
  511. Etna: Etna gains 350 experience points.
  512. DNA: 5750 exp, which means 1750 to next level. Sweet.
  513. Grace is disconnected.
  514. Avara is disconnected.
  515. Narrator: saving campaign and log~
  516. Actinidia is disconnected.
  517. Narrator is disconnected.
  518. You have disconnected.
