  1. [23:27:11] <Cranium> erm, i've just been informed by a user on my server, that Atomic Science is now part of Resonant Induction...what does this mean for my server? I still use atomic science
  2. [23:27:57] <Stygander> Cranium: download Resonant induction AtomicAGe
  3. [23:27:59] <mallrat208> If you aren't going to update? Nothing. Otherwise you'll need to update to the RI-Atomic module
  4. [23:28:06] <Cranium> oh, okay
  5. [23:28:22] <Cranium> so since i don't yet plan on updating, what files/versions should I need?
  6. [23:28:42] <Cranium> i have AS 1.2.0.115
  7. [23:29:10] <Cranium> i should clarify:
  8. [23:29:19] <Cranium> what files would newcomers to my server need?
  9. [23:29:28] <+dmod_> Cranium: AS is in RI now
  10. [23:29:30] <mallrat208> The ones you would need to provide ;/
  11. [23:29:37] <LazerusKI> i should sleep now, cya later
  12. [23:29:40] LazerusKI [[email protected]] has quit IRC: Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.90.1 [Firefox 29.0.1/20140506152807]
  13. [23:29:48] <Cranium> oh, so you guys are fine with me hosting just those files myself?
  14. [23:30:12] <mallrat208> I'm not sure anyone here can answer that
  15. [23:30:57] <Cranium> yeah, up until now, i've just provided them with a link to the AS download page, and told them the versions
  16. [23:30:59] <mallrat208> See if the CalCore you have is still here ;http://calclavia.com/calclavia-core/
  17. [23:31:46] <mallrat208> There are no links for previous versions of AS
  18. [23:31:47] <Cranium> yes, i do see the version i am using there
  19. [23:34:45] <Cranium> sounds like i'm just going to have to distribute the necessary files myself, since nobody thought about legacy support
  20. [23:34:53] Cranium sighs
  21. [23:35:06] <Cranium> that's something I really wanted to avoid
  22. [23:41:08] <Cranium> oh wait. I have to ask permission from Calclavia...
  23. [23:41:51] <Cranium> because, if I read the license right, nobody can redistribute the mod at all, without permission
  24. [23:42:56] <mallrat208> the suggestion you'll probably get is to update and use the RI module of Atomic Science
  25. [23:43:33] <Cranium> well, that's the absolute least user-friendly suggestion, one I'd hope to not recieve
  26. [23:44:12] <+dmod_> Cranium: is the pack going to be open to the public or private for a small nit community?
  27. [23:44:13] <@Maxwolf> Cranium, just stick with the old versions you had then.
  28. [23:44:32] <Cranium> I don't even have it in a pack
  29. [23:44:53] <Cranium> I had several mods, where I took the time to link every individual mod download page
  30. [23:45:18] <@Maxwolf> Well then update your links...
  31. [23:45:39] <Cranium> well...there IS no link for atomic science anymore
  32. [23:45:57] <+dmod_> Cranium: as i said before its in RI now
  33. [23:46:12] <+dmod_> http://calclavia.com/resonant-induction/
  34. [23:46:31] <@Maxwolf> Cranium, http://calclavia.com/
  35. [23:46:35] <Cranium> dmod_: yeah, i get that much, and I totally understand. I just never got an answer, as to what I'd need new players who come to my server
  36. [23:46:36] <@Maxwolf> Just read the blog post there
  37. [23:47:04] williewillus [[email protected]] has quit IRC: Remote host closed the connection
  38. [23:47:11] <Cranium> I did read the blog post, Maxwolf
  39. [23:47:23] <Cranium> it doesn't tell me which versions are compatible with what
  40. [23:47:44] <@Maxwolf> What are you asking me?
  41. [23:48:09] <Cranium> well, I'd rather not install another mod, when I just want to keep using the mod I was using
  42. [23:48:18] <Cranium> so since I don't want to have to update the server
  43. [23:48:26] <@Maxwolf> Oh so you just came in here to just complain then
  44. [23:48:30] <Cranium> what files should I tell new players to install for compatibility
  45. [23:48:31] <@Maxwolf> Well keep using the version you have
  46. [23:48:34] <@Maxwolf> We have moved on
  47. [23:48:45] <Cranium> i'm not here to complain...
  48. [23:48:54] <@Maxwolf> Well what can I do to help you?
  49. [23:49:01] <+dmod_> 12:27 AM <Stygander> Cranium: download Resonant induction AtomicAGe
  50. [23:49:22] <Cranium> is it possible, to not update the server, and just point new players to the new RI downloads?
  51. [23:49:46] <Cranium> i'm not trying to cause trouble, complain, or anything of the sort
  52. [23:49:55] <Cranium> I just don't yet wanna update the server
  53. [23:50:03] <@Maxwolf> Not sure what you are asking there. If you want to use the latest atomic science you will have to download atomic module for RI since it was merged into it.
  54. [23:50:07] <Stygander> Cranium: it depends are you gonna keep using the one you have?
  55. [23:50:26] <Cranium> I do plan on continuing to use the version I have. Not changing.
  56. [23:50:40] <Cranium> but since there is no longer a download for the version we are using,
  57. [23:51:02] <Cranium> I was asking permission to host the files myself, or if using the new RI files would be compatible
  58. [23:51:07] <@Maxwolf> You can redistribute the version you have then
  59. [23:51:09] <@Maxwolf> That is fine
  60. [23:51:21] <Cranium> okay, thanks, sorry if my question wasn't clear enough
  61. [23:51:28] <@Maxwolf> I understand now
  62. [23:51:34] <@Maxwolf> It's all good
  63. [23:51:49] <@Maxwolf> By all means have fun and use the files you have and update when you are ready
  64. [23:52:24] <@Maxwolf> Yuo can update server to and lose nothing from Atomic Science and update to the new RI atomic module
  65. [23:52:30] <@Maxwolf> That is what we did on the dev server we run.
