- Xanth: The hero of our story. You stand at an impressive but not dominating 6 feet tall with short, thick black hair and your face is covered in a relatively thick black beard. Your right eye is cybernetic, though it looks more like someone welded a camera lens to your face than a proper eye, however it is functional and allows you to both zoom your vision to see at a distance and has a night vision function. There is also a 'receiver' of sorts that has been attached to your spine which allows for rather easy installment of cybernetics. It itches frequently. Your build is athletic but not bulky, years of hard labor in a hostile environment have honed you physically and maintained your naturally tan complexion. Your face is gaunt but defined, with a prominent nose and strong cheek bones that make you seem as if you are constantly looking down upon others. Above your right eye there is a brand that has been seared into your skin identifying you as a former slave which displays your serial number: 93744926. You are currently twenty years of age.
- Nivah: A mousy young woman who is the one person Xanth is closest to. She is short and lithe, with short brown hair cut into a bob. She is impressionable but has amazing determination and seems to see Xanth as her main source of inspiration and companionship. After a rather intense conversation you have discovered that Nivah's father was a Jedi and her parents were killed by his Master after discovering he had broken the Jedi Code by taking a wife and child. You two have become close, and in time your relationship has become public after a truly awesome of her force prowess at the tournament and a declaration of your love. Nivah is incredibly and fiercely protective of you and her inhibitions toward violence drop dramatically when you or your name are threatened. Since you have left the academy she has taken up apprenticeship under Darth Vyse in order to become a diplomat and ambassador to the Empire.
- Cael'la: The Chiss woman who you and Nivah grown to be good friends with. She stands at approximately 5'8", her hair is long and falls to her lower back however it is commonly tied into an intricate pony tail that keeps it from affecting her in training. From what you were able to discover by reading her journal and a letter in her trunk she is the member of a prominent Chiss house, however your lack of information on the Chiss social structure means that this information is for the most part useless to you. You had previously stolen her journal in which she has been keeping records and notes concerning her peers with most of the notes being about you which has now been destroyed. After a meeting with Cael'la the two of you had entered a makeshift alliance and are currently working to ensure the survival of the other which in time would bloom into your current flirtatious friendship. After a recent conversation with her you have discovered that after Nivah's display of furiosity and martial prowess in the desert, she has become secretly infatuated with her. You parted ways without goodbye after your time at the Academy came to an end and she is currently an apprentice under Darth Sombra of the Sphere of Imperial Intelligence.
- Taral: A tuk'ata that you spared in the Hunting Grounds who has sworn fealty to you as a member of your 'pack'. With Loric's help you have learned the Sith language and are now able to communicate with your canine companion. He is a pessimist, usually pointing out every possible downside to a course of action or complication that could occur. Despite this he has a good sense of humor, though it is rather black and dour. You never knew tuk'ata were capable of using sarcasm until you began to understand Taral's tongue.
- Darth Incarnus: A tall and serious looking middle aged human Sith, with dangerous hawk-like features who you have come to name your Master. You know very little about him aside from that he is the head of a secret organization within the Empire known as the Shadow Wardens, who eliminate the most dangerous and sensitive threats to the Empire and the Sith in the galaxy.
- Rodrik: Your first introduction to Rodrik was him insulting you, quickly followed by your fist having a lovely chat with his face. This is a good summary of your relationship during it's infancy. All you know about him is that he is the son of someone named Lord Kambran. He stands a mite shorter than yourself and lacks your bulk, however in the Academy he was the most agile and cunning of your peers. His features are sharp and you could have sworn he was born with a smirk on his face. Coupled with his short 'I went to private school' brown hair he is the poster child for silver spoon daddy's boy. After a short lived but volatile mutual hostility the two of you came to hold a respect for one another, which changed from begrudging to sincere after you defeated him in the tournament. He is currently an apprentice under Darth Nagus of the Sphere of Military Strategy.

- Minor Characters
- Loric: An intelligent apprentice shrouded in mystery who was your ally until you discovered he had been deceiving you for the better part of two months. He stood at 5'6" and was incredibly slim with shaggy red hair and freckles dusting his nose. After 'sparing' his life Loric helped you communicate with a tuk'ata and you had chosen to take him on as an ally, offering to protect him in exchange for being taught Sith and otherwise working for and reporting to you. After discovering his duplicitous intents you killed him in what was at the time the most difficult fight of your life. You have discovered little about him since his death, only that his mother is a member of the Dark Council named Darth Languish, and that Tharon was apparently working with or under him.
- Master Jorrak: Your primary instructor at the Academy, he is a short, haggard looking Zabrak. His defining feature is a massive scar leading from the bridge of his nose down through his lips to his chin. When he smiles it looks as if the old wound is going to split open. He seems to favor you, however he does not give you any special treatment. After a discussion after your sparing match with him you have learned that he was once a powerful Darth known as Darth Sever and was disgraced after being defeated by a member of the Jedi Council known as Master Rash'an.
- Master Vessa: A frigid and cruel Twi'lek woman who serves as one of the Masters in your cell, she has grown to despise you for making her look the part of a fool by using her particular brand of rules lawyering against her to allow Cael'la to pass the Hunting Grounds.
- Master Xalia: You know very little about Master Xalia, she speaks little but when she does her voice seems to cut through the voices of others like a blade. From what you've heard about her she is kind but tough on her apprentices and refuses to accept slacking or self-defeating attitudes.
- Master Yval: Your advanced trainer, Master Yval has seen fit to give you lessons beyond that of the common apprentice after your impressive show of talent in your force push training. She seems a bit loony however one look into her ancient eyes and you know that she is a very sharp and intelligent woman. She is knowledgeable in the force and prefers the 'trial by fire' training method. The is a wisp of a woman, commonly hunched over with wild white hair and it is thanks to her that you have begun to harness the power of Force Rage.
- Master Korr: The effective headmaster of the Academy, Master Korr is the final judge toward your worth as potential Sith. He is a massive pureblood man with broad shoulders and eyes that make you feel as if you are a gazelle gazing into the maw of a lion.
- Darth Languish: Loric's mother, member of the Dark Council and head of the Sphere of Biotic Science, Darth Languish is the most powerful person you have ever met and possibly ever will meet. Her face is hidden behind a high tech mask that appears as the face of a porcelain doll. Even her voice is hidden behind the program that makes it seem as if seven voices are speaking in unison. She seems to have taken a keen interest in Xanth since Loric's death, however she has information that could prove that you murdered her son. Should you disappoint her she may choose to cut your time as a Sith dramatically short.
- Allandra Worldbreaker: A young girl who spent some time stalking you during your time at the academy and whom claims to be your younger half-sister. After your trial you discover her hiding Taral in an attempt to protect you. Through her you discovered much about your biological origins. She is sweet and timid yet you know she has surprising mastery of the force for one so young.
- Lady Lilus: Your rumored older half-sister and a Lady of the Sith, Lilus is an up and coming Sith within the Sphere of Military Offense who sought to take you as her apprentice. While you did not accept her offer, she appears to bear you no ill will. She seems to share your forward and direct nature, though she lacks your brashness. She stands at 5'4" with a clean shaven head and thick well maintained black eyeliner that gives her an intimidating appearance.
- Darth Pharos: Xanth's biological father according to Allandra. Little is known about him other then he loved Xanth's mother as opposed to his wife and that he apparently still grieves for his forgotten son. After your fight at the tournament he has apparently come to realize that you are alive and well, however you do not believe he is aware that you know your familial ties.
- Darth Vayne: Darth Pharos' wife and the woman responsible for Xanth's life as a slave. While this is all Xanth knows about this woman it alone has made her a very dangerous potential enemy. To your knowledge she has not realized you are alive and no longer a slave, and if she has she has not revealed as much.
