  1. A clone of https://pastebin.com/8nPQnFgF which was pasted anonymously by an unknown player earlier this year:
  2.
  3. Mortal Online used to be a game that I looked forward to playing. But the incessant bugs, corruption, cheating, and downright horrible changes that constantly always happened has pretty much crippled any chance of me wanting to play the game for extended periods of time.
  4.
  5. I would say the only enjoyment I garner from the game at this point, that is if I ever play it, is to log in and yell at people through their VOIP servers. Because literally anything else is dull, grey, and lifeless. Combat is abysmal with players from Australia, China, Japan, etc. playing against Western Europeans and Americans. (If this soars over your head - there is an immense lag and latency issue.)
  6.
  7. Crafting is not fun nor' creative. There is no mini-game involved. Crafting revolves around the mind numbing processes of forging thousands of an object or item that uses as little of a certain resource to level both the skill of the item you're making - and the lore of the resources you are using. Free to play crafting is hilariously awful, terrible, and not even viable or worth it.
  8.
  9. Free to play in this game is utter shit. Playing this game as a free to play is possibly the worst free to play experience someone can experience. I wouldn't say it is 'pay to win', but rather 'pay to experience a shit game a little less shitty'. Enjoy running slower than everyone, having your crafting be laughable compared to a pay-to-play crafter, not being able to even wear decent armor, etc.
  10.
  11. Magic in the game has always been unbalanced. It is either extremely overpowered, or under powered. Mortal Online's magic system is not rock, paper, or scissors. It is not 'Magic School' < 'Counter'. No, they just release schools of magic / spells that are either utterly useless or completely overpowered. More often then not the overpowered schools of magic and or spells are argued by PvE players are players in general who are coddled by this imbalance are 'fair' due to the time sink and sheer cost of their creations. Time sink and gold cost should NOT equate for long-term advantages and shrinking the skill.
  12.
  13. By this logic, which is CURRENTLY in place for Mortal Online, having access to the highest tier materials, with tons of playtime, and just mind numbingly skilling your crafting up to use these materials - will give you such an advantage that it is downright silly.
  14.
  15. This logic is also applied to most magic in the game.
  16.
  17. Balance is terrible. The game in the past was more balanced and progressively has gotten worse.
  18.
  19. Instead of focusing on balancing, or fixing current bugs in the game; they continued to push out new content to try and attract more players rather than satisfying the already dedicated and current players.
  20.
  21. Game Masters are corrupt, or just downright ignorant. They continually will cite that they adhere to a 'rule book' when most of them either make up rules, say that something isn't allowed (But another GM would do immediately and or allow), etc. Game Masters and Star Vault in general claim the game doesn't advocate hackers or takes measures against them. What they end up doing, is a very 'soft ban' which they label as 'permanent'. Which is easily by passed, there are also players who are KNOWINGLY banned players who are ACTIVE on the forums. YET, Star Vault does NOTHING to these players.
  22.
  23. My theory is Star Vault puts out these soft bans so that players always have a way to weasel back in to player. Because THEORETICALLY, a player who returns to only just hack - usually would just get banned again. But more often the not players return with the intention of just playing - That means subbing, buying character slots, maybe even doing it for multiple accounts. Which in turn dishes out more revenue for Star Vault. They can deny this all they like but even if this wasn't their intention - they passively benefit from this type of banning.
  24.
  25. Meta's in the game lead to useless armors, weapons, and builds. Which means wasted efforts in creating those specific races, weapons, or armors (i.e. Star Vault developing a certain weapon type, is now wasted because it has no place.)
  26.
  27. Mounts have become brainless go-karts that no longer have aesthetic, strengths or weaknesses, etc. The biggest differences in mounts is the actual mount-type (Horses, Lykiators, and Molvas) from there. You have the 'super breeds' of each type that is superior to all other races, breeds, and or type within these animals. There are no multiple types of horses with strengths or weaknesses, same with Lykiators. I would say Molvas are the only true 'mounts' in the game thus far as they still retain their strengths and weaknesses.
  28.
  29. There needs to be different servers. Sorry, but being a U.S. player and fighting an Australian when we're both above 100 ping (While my ping is 140 and there is about 600 ranging upward to 900) is not an efficient method of creating PvP between players. It's terrible, and downright unfair. Creating hilariously funny terms such as 'predicition' and having to play and learn around lag because of the lack of effort on the developers side.
  30.
  31. Building in the game has essentially devolved into blocking off content, or just forcing immense safe zones which can't be touched unless you sink money into sieging them (Which doesn't even result in a profitable turnout, like WHAT SIEGING IS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR. TAKE A LOOK A REAL HISTORY.)
  32.
  33. Some skills in the game just don't work. Or are just so completely useless that they are dead abilities slash skills that literally no one uses because of how obscure, broken, or shit they are.
  34.
  35. Tutorials and new player introductions are garbage.
  36.
  37. Community is filled with people so split and hostile that the games community struggles to come to agreements, or to have civil discussions on what might be better. It rather turns into discussions and topics of what benefits the original poster. PvE'rs want less griefers, more ways to farm in safety. While PvP'ers want to destroy a PvE'rs way of life by destroying certain farming methods, wanting to siege their things for profit (Which is ACTUALLY logical), and killing anyone they like.
  38.
  39. The flagging system is intricate and interesting, but downright outdated and broken. It needs to be removed or completely reworked. A group of blue players out in the wilds approach you and kill you. The worst thing you can do to them is CHECK A BOX TO GIVE THEM A MURDER COUNT. OH WOW! Due note, this does nothing but serve as a minor annoyance to an already terrible system. The only people that are truly affected by murder counts, are usually players who are FIGHTING against ACTUAL 'bad players' (i.e. bandits, pillagers, thieves)
  40.
  41. Not to mention. 'Burning off murder counts' (the process of waiting for a murder count to vanish, which takes 8 in-game hours + not gaining another murder count during the time) is the dumbest system of 'retribution' ever. This system requires a player to STAY LOGGED IN TO THE GAME, ON THAT CHARACTER, to EVER be able to venture back into blue towns. So to do the quick math. That's three murder counts in one day, but you can't continually stay logged in because the server restarts daily (Because the game has terrible optimization and can't handle the load of more than one day.)
  42.
  43. So to break it down even more. After gaining your fifth murder count, and beyond that. You are a 'Murderer' or a 'Red Player'. Anyone and anything can attack you without penalty, and anyone can loot your things without penalty. But lets think. If you're blue, and the players about you attack you are blue. All you can do is check a box off to get them closer to being red. But what if they don't need access to towns? How does that punish them? Oh, I'll tell you. Stat loss. Stat loss happens when you build up murder counts, die, and don't respawn at a priest which doesn't look at this stat loss.
  44.
  45. Essentially stat loss lowers your attributes down (So you have to re-skill them back up) after dying, and respawning at a priest that incurs the stat loss penalty. Which just means more in-game time, doing mind numbing tasks of lowering and raising numbers.
  46.
  47. THAT'S THE FLAGGING SYSTEM GUYS. THE SYSTEM OF LOWERING AND RAISING NUMBERS i.e. 'Wasting your time'.
  48.
  49. World is ugly, AI is retarded and not smart, shit floats every where, you get stuck on nothing, randomly can fall through the world.
  50.
  51. Towns don't really have many strengths anymore besides a resource that is local or within it. The worst players typically live inside towns and grief you, burn murder counts off, and just continue this process over and over (i.e. They literally force themselves and their computer to sink so much time into a game because flagging is broken and fucking dumb.)
  52.
  53. Some armors have texture bugs that display other races skins and models when you have them on. As well as making some parts of your body invisible and or see through.
  54.
  55. To summarize everything in one go:
  56.
  57. The game is not a game, it's a job. A job you hate. A job that instead of rewarding or paying you, you have to reward 'it' and pay 'it'. For the money and rewards you pay in - you are given a pile of shit on your face.
