  1. My name is Gerald, the janitor. I've worked 16 years in the biggest law firm in the country. That is, before the big market crash of '64. I remember it like it was yesterday.
  2.
  3. It all started when I was cleaning the top floor, where Mr Matthews, the CEO was striding about yelling the top of his lungs. Just mopping up after those arrogant private schooled lawyers who couldn't care less about anyone else.
  4.
  5. "Mary, what in the world is this?! " the boss shouted.
  6. "Why that's our stock report sir." she replied.
  7. "Our stock report? It's absurd! It looks like the price listing of a street side rickshaw hotdog vendor, " he said screaming, "We are a Million dollar corporation. At least we were."
  8.
  9. That's when things took a turn for the worse, in seconds, all the computers in the room showed numbers that were in negatives. Chaos ripped through the building. People screaming. Bodies in free fall from the roof zipping last the office windows.
  10.
  11. I was in the midst of the hellish scene. Mary and another colleague were screaming at each other. She threw her mug to the floor as a threatening move.
  12.
  13. What did I tell you about these spoiled brats, who's got to clean up after all of them? Me.
  14.
  15. I walked towards the two ladies. And split them before we have two more bodies.
  16.
  17. "Mary. Calm down. No amount of shouting is going to change the past. " I reasoned.
  18.
  19. It did not matter anyway, just then, the cops broke into the building and started to evacuate everyone outside.
  20.
  21. We did as we were told and that was the last day I worked for that company.
