FoE PNP Destiny Group Session 24

[15:24] <Wavey> *** PnP Destiny Group: Session 24 Start ***
[15:24] <Wavey>  When we last left our heroes, things did not seem to be going well. Still hurtling towards a star, they found themselves unable to make headway with either the terrorist leader or the princesses, and attempting to reach the bridge through the ventilation system yielded no fruit either.
[15:24] <Wavey>  Just as it seems there might actally be progress, an exposion rocks the halls of Destiny.
[15:25] * Chameleon groans "What now?"
[15:25] * High_Hopes falls right off of Astera's back, regaining consciousness at the right moment to feel the full pain of her tumble. "Oof!"
[15:26] * Astera 's ears lay flat as she looks around, she steadies herself. "Oh.. That can't be good. Kaifa! What is going on?!" She calls into the pipbuck.
[15:28] <Wavey> You can hear a blast door opening over the com channel, a pair of them in fact, "As I said, Countess... I'm afraid I cannot trust you and your friends not to interfere with my journey, so I have arranged a distraction for you."
[15:29] * Swoop looks at Swept... or as much of him that ISN'T his flanks... mighty fine flanks too... GAH! BAD BRAIN! STOP IT! "Uhm... what was that?":
[15:29] * High_Hopes blinks a few times, lying flat on her back. "Wha... wha..."
[15:29] <Chameleon> "How about I arrage a 'go fuck yourself' for you?"
[15:29] <Chameleon> arrange*
[15:30] <Astera> "What did you do?"
[15:31] <Swept> "No idea!"
[15:33] * Clara does not like the sound of what's going on. She crouches down to help High_Hopes up. "Are you alright?"
[15:34] <Wavey> "Now, dear pony, you might not want to do anything of that nature... who knows how many more bombs there could be onboard. As for what I did, Countess, is destroy the main power relay for the engines. There was a pony unfortunately injured in planting the device, but otherwise there should be no casualties."
[15:34] * High_Hopes looks bleary eyed up at Clara. "Did... the facehugger get me?" She asks quietly.
[15:35] <Swoop> "Well crawl faster, it might want to kill us!"
[15:35] * Swept ([email protected]) Quit ( Ping timeout: 121 seconds )
[15:35] <Chameleon> "I hope to Celestia they resurrect the most archaic and savage punishment for a pony as sick as you, Kaifa."
[15:36] * Clara gives High_Hopes a confused look. "You... watch too many movies. She smiles slightly.
[15:37] * High_Hopes returns Clara's slight smile, looking around a little. "Are there... any wounded?"

[15:41] * Clara frowns slightly. I don't... know... none of us at least!
[15:43] * High_Hopes climbs slowly to her hooves. "Oh... well... that's good... I think. What are we to do now?"

[15:47] <Swoop> "Weren't you the one who was against going upward? But whatever, just get moving... I'm feeling clostrophobic..."
[15:49] <Swept> "Well up or out?"

[15:51] <Swoop> "Just pick a direction!"
[15:52] * Clara doesn't know how to answer that. She glances up toward Astera. Maybe she has an idea?
[15:53] * Astera blinks. "So.. you stopped the ship. You have nothing to threaten us with anymore?"
[15:56] <Swept_Wing> "Out, and if we can't get the door, then up."
[15:56] <Swoop> "Fine. Dandy. Move it."
[15:57] * Swept starts looking for a grate out.
[15:57] <Wavey> You can hear Kaifa's smile, "Dear Countess... I thought we were making progress in our negotiations to the point where a gesture like not throwing the ship into a star would be appreciated..."
[15:58] * High_Hopes looks at Astera too, and trots slowly over to her side. "What... what does she want from us... exactly?"
[15:59] <Wavey> There is a vent out just a short distance back to the right.
[16:00] * Swept_Wing indicates it to Swoop. "There, back up a little, it's on the right."
[16:01] * Swoop does, quickly. She punches the grate until it opens... or her hoof breaks.
[16:01] * Astera sighs and clicks off the broadcaster. "Well, she just stopped the ship and is going to go to the communications room to talk with the princessess... So I guess we just.. Wait?"
[16:02] * High_Hopes leans in towards the Pipbuck and asks timidly, "Did... did you hurt any other crew members? I... I'm a doctor... Please... nopony else needs to die..."
[16:04] <Wavey> The vent cover comes off on the first buck. Boom, vent-shot.
[16:05] * Swoop quickly climbs out and glides to the floor. "Oh thanks Celestia..."
[16:06] * Swept_Wing follows her out. "Alright, now, let's get to the bridge."
[16:06] * Swoop looks at her pipbuck map. "Hmm... we're here, so..."
[16:08] <Wavey> Swept and Swoop find themselves in a hallway on the 4th level, right outside the main stairs up to the Command Tower. That passage however seems to be blocked by a blast door as well.
[16:08] * Clara glances around. "Should we... do something about that explosion?"
[16:08] <Swoop> "...it's right up there. Convenient."
[16:09] * Swept_Wing nods. "Let's move then." He moves over to the door.
[16:09] * High_Hopes slumps a little, slowly trotting to the back of the pack.
[16:10] * Swoop pulls her pistol and follows. "Doors. Our one weakness..."
[16:10] <Astera> "Do what exactly.. I doubt any of us could repair the damage thats been dealt, and even if we could why should we. The ship has stopped, Kaifa pretty much stopped herself."
[16:11] * High_Hopes murmurs, "We can't just wait... we have to find others... they might be hurt..."
[16:15] <Wavey> Examining the door, Swept actually finds it to be much more complicated of a lock than any others they'd seen so far. As it seems he might not be able to open it at all, the lockout suddenly goes away, leaving Swept with a simple button to push to open it.
[16:16] * Clara agrees with High_Hopes. "We need to at least do something!"
[16:17] <Astera> "Very well, lead on then."
[16:19] * Swept_Wing hits the button, blinking. "Huh, let's move."
[16:19] * High_Hopes blinks a little. "Wait... where are we going, then?"
[16:19] * Swept_Wing gallops up the stairs, pulling out his PPC
[16:20] * Swoop follows. "Figures you get the one door that just opens its legs for you..."
[16:20] * Swept_Wing grunts, and gallops up towards th bridge.

[16:25] * Astera eyerolls and starts to head for wherever the power relay might be..
[16:26] * High_Hopes follows Astera, taking this opportunity to hang a few spells in her Spell Closet!
[16:29] * Clara sticks close behind. This whole 'waiting' thing makes her nervous, she's glad to be moving somewhere!

[16:39] <Wavey> The main power relay happens to be in Engineering, which is in the first deck below the main deck, so it's going to take a little to get there. Fortunately, all the blast doors seem to have opened, so the party is able to make good time.
[16:40] <Wavey> The stairs up the command tower are likewise long, though much more comfortable than running through the main decks, as its covered with a nice plush carpet.
[16:44] * High_Hopes sticks close to Astera, shaking just a little. She's looking around for signs of a struggle, or any injured pony.
[16:44] <Swoop> "Leave it to command to skimp on conforts in the shuttles, yet spend millions on a shag carpet for the bridge hallway..."
[16:45] * Swept_Wing chuckles, and keeps galloping. "Yup."
[16:45] <Swoop> "Remind me to get a piece of this as a rug for my room."
[16:46] * Astera inspects the damage, could she perhaps repair it..?
[16:47] <Swept_Wing> "Roger that sis."
[16:48] <Wavey> After the long trip up, Swept and Swoop find the door to the Bridge still sealed. Down in engineering, Astera and her companions find clear signs of the bomb that went off, scorch marks and shattered crystals littering the ground.
[16:49] <Swoop> "Doors... Always the doors..."
[16:49] * Swept_Wing trots up to the door, and hits the button.
[16:49] * Clara helps High_Hopes look around for anypony that might still be around.
[16:55] * Astera sighs as she sees the mess thats left of the explosion. "Heh.. Can't fix that up now can I.."
[16:55] * Swept_Wing ([email protected]) Quit ( Ping timeout: 121 seconds )
[16:55] <Wavey> The door doesn't open at the push of the button, but the pair can hear a chime inside. A few moments later, it opens, revealing the quiet commotion of the Bridge, with Commander Daylight at the door control. She turns to look at the two of you, "Get inside, quick."
[16:57] * Swoop quickly enters. "Nice to see you, boss."
[16:57] * Swept gallops into the bridge. "Commander."
[16:58] <Wavey> The damage that Astera can see definitely looks like more than she could manage, on her own at least. Clara and Hopes don't see any ponies in the main area, but the door to one of the sub-sections of the room was dented off its track by shrapnel, and the pair can spot a puddle of blood glistening in flickering light inside.
[16:59] * Clara glances over toward High_Hopes to see if she's notices the door too.
[16:59] * High_Hopes goes wide-eyed, and gallops over quickly. She peers slowly inside the room. "Blood..." She murmurs.
[17:02] <Wavey> Inside, they see a yellow stallion with a white and brown mane lying on the floor, blood spattered from several wounds on his back.
[17:03] * Clara follows Hopes over to the door. She gasps when she sees the stallion. "Oh no..."
[17:04] * High_Hopes gasps too, dropping to the floor next to him. "S-Sir... S-sir c-can you hear me?" She asks, frantically assessing the damage and readying her heal spell.
[17:08] <Wavey> The pony doesn't respond. From a closer examination, he is still alive, but the wounds on his back look fairly serious, caused by a high rate of fire weapon at close range.
[17:09] * High_Hopes casts heal! She was going to save somepony's life today! "J-Just hold still, sir... I-I'll... help..."
[17:10] * Clara prepares a healing potion should Hopes need to administer it. She stands nearby, ready to help.
[17:12] <Wavey> His wounds begin to close as Hopes' healing magic infuses the pony. It seems to have done the trick, though the pony hasn't stirred yet.
[17:14] <Wavey> Closing the door behind both of you, Daylight takes a deep breath, "Is the rest of your team okay?"
[17:14] * High_Hopes relaxes on a little, rolling the stallion over on to his freshly healed back. "S-Sir?"
[17:14] * Clara breathes a sigh of relief and puts the potion away. "He is going to be okay...?"
[17:15] <Swoop> "They were when we left them."
[17:16] * Swept nods. "Yes sir."
[17:16] <Wavey> The stallion groans softly, clenching his eyes a little, "Wh... what..."

[17:16] * High_Hopes exhales and gives a slight nod to Clara. "S-sir, we need your help. D-Do you think you can stabd?

[17:18] <Wavey> Daylight lets out her breath in a relieved sigh, "That's good... We were worried that your team might be targets... The Bridge was completely cut off from the rest of the ship once this all started..."

[17:20] <Wavey> He shakes his head a little but tries to stand anyways, getting halfway to his hooved before stumbling slightly and just barely catching himself, "What happened?"
[17:20] <Swept> "They were actually ma'am. Also, Captain Apollo is injured."
[17:21] * High_Hopes supports him, as much as the tiny filly can. "Well... I don't know for certain... but something blew up, and the ship's stopped moving! C-Can yo fix it?"
[17:22] * Astera trots up next to the stallion. "What  is the last thing you remember? These wounds.. How did you get them?"
[17:23] * Clara goes to the stallion's other side to help support him a little better.
[17:25] <Wavey> A flash of concern crosses the Commander's eyes, but she shakes her head quickly, "I hope she's alright... A-anyways... the lockdown on the ship ended just a few minutes ago, we've been scrambling trying to secure the ship as much as possible, now that we have some idea what we're up against."
[17:27] <Swoop> "There was an explosion a few minutes ago. Any idea what that was?"
[17:28] <Wavey> The stallion looks up to Astera, shaking his head a little again, "I was down here... j-just doing some routine maintenance. Then the pain of being shot... th-that's all I can remember, I'm afraid..."
[17:29] * High_Hopes nods slowly. "I'm s-scared to... d-do you think you can help us, Sir?"
[17:31] * Clara gives a worried look to Astera and High_Hopes. "Does that mean... whoever shot you is still in here?"
[17:33] <Wavey> Daylight points the two of you up to one of the display screens, the aft section of the lower decks are blinking red, "There. It severed the main connection between the core and the engines. Good news is, we're stopped, but the bad news is, we're bleeding power now... Just a little, but still..."
[17:35] * Astera 's ears perk up and she quickly looks around. "I dont think they would.. The explosion would have taken them out in that case.."
[17:35] <Wavey> He shakes his head slowly again, "Y-yeah... maybe... they could be here still... or... or anywhere on the ship... H-how can I help?"
[17:35] <Swoop> "So what's the plan then?"
[17:35] <Swept> "That's not good... What do we need to do?"
[17:37] * High_Hopes instantly tenses. S-Still in here? Oh no...
[17:39] <Wavey> Daylight nods towards the bank of three consoles at the front of the Bridge, each occupied by a pony rapidly clicking, "We'll have to repair it, otherwise we'll be stranded here until the core loses too much power to dial back to Equestria. They're looking for any viable planets nearby where we could pick up materials."
[17:40] <Swoop> "Great for later, but what about dealing with terrorists? There a plan for that?"
[17:43] * Swept nods. "how many ponies are on the terrorists side?"
[17:46] <Wavey> Daylight shakes her head, "Unfortunately there's no way to know, so we can't really plan for it... I assume some kind of headway has to have been made, or we'd still be locked down..."

[17:50] * Swoop puts her pistol away and sits down. "So, the plan is sit tight? Boooring."
[17:51] * High_Hopes looks around, finally turning to the stallion. "D-Do you know if anypony else is hurt?"
[17:53] * Astera ([email protected]) Quit ( Quit: Light travels faster then sound, which is why some people appear bright, until you hear them speak )

[17:56] * Astera probebly do not find anything.. She moves up to the broken peive of machinery, sighs and shrugs slightly. "So.. Kaifa is at communication, she blew these up.. And.. There is that. We could either go and take down Kaifa right now, or wait and see what hapens.."
[18:00] * Clara glances between Astera, High_Hopes, and the stallion. "Maybe we should find the others... Maybe they will know what to do better than we do."
[18:01] <Astera> "Mm, perhaps.. Where are Swept and Soop anyway?"
[18:02] <Wavey> The stallion shakes his head a little to Hopes' question, "I was alone down here, so I don't know... Thank you for healing me, doctor."
[18:03] * High_Hopes lowers her head slightly. "I... don't remember... I... just don't know what to do..." She says, slumping a little more.
[18:03] * Swept paces around the bridge.
[18:06] <Astera> "Neither do I... I can't fix this, and even if I could, I dont think Id want too, not untill Kaifa is taken down."
[18:06] * High_Hopes looks drained and tired. "C-Can... we even t-take her down? She must h-have... a lot of bodyguards..."
[18:08] <Astera> "Im not sure.. Perhaps we can find a way to lock the room she is in."
[18:08] * Swept ([email protected]) Quit ( Ping timeout: 121 seconds )
[18:11] * Clara frowns. "Maybe... I'm not sure how we would be able to do that, though."
[18:11] * High_Hopes throws her back against the wall, sliding down to the floor. "Do we even know where she is? It sounded like she was moving... she could be anywhere... this whole thing... is so... s-so..." She sniffs a little.

[18:14] * Clara sits next to High_Hopes. "I am sure nothing bad will happen." She smiles a little. "She's going to go see the Princesses. Remember? They will be able to do something, I am sure."
[18:14] * High_Hopes looks at the remnants of the explosion. "Something already bad -has- happened..."

[18:19] * Clara gives High_Hopes a comforting hug. "Yes, but in the end, it will all turn out okay. You will see!"
[18:19] * High_Hopes sniffs again, looking up at Clara with just a little hope in her eyes. "It will?"
[18:21] * Clara nods. "It will! There is nothing to be worried about!"
[18:22] * High_Hopes doesn't buy that... at all... "If y-you say so..."

[18:37] * Clara gives High_Hopes a smile anyway. "Will you be okay?"
[18:38] * High_Hopes shakes her head slightly. "N-not... not until this is all over... and I go home..."
[18:39] * Clara gives another hug. "When this is all over, would you like to have some coffee together? You can show me how to use the cards I bought."
[18:39] * High_Hopes lowers her gaze to the floor. "I want to go home..."

[18:56] * High_Hopes just shakes her head. "I... just... can't help the feeling that this is all pointless..."

[19:05] * Swoop stands up and trots around the bridge. "Ok so we need a plan to deal with that Keifa bitch. Vents would be a good way but kind of obvious. Is there any way... we can get outside and cut thru the hull into where she is?"

[19:07] * Clara gives High_Hopes a nudge. "Come on, let's go. We can't stop now..."
[19:07] * High_Hopes gets to her hooves, never taking her eyes off the debris scattered around the floor.
[19:09] * Clara searches for Swept_Wing and Swoop's tags on her Pipbuck. Once she figures out where they are, she starts to head in that direction. "This way..."

[19:13] * Swept_Wing nods in agreement with Swoop.
[19:13] <Swoop> "Maybe decompress that section of the ship, or get an assault team in there."
[19:14] <Wavey>  After a long, tense hour, a message comes over the ship's intercom, Kaifa's voice ringing through the halls, "Destiny crew... We Children of Equestria's Dawn have reached an... understanding... with the Princesses. I will be returning through the gate, and no more harm shall come to this ship... I'm sorry."
[19:14] <Wavey>  With this announcement, things remained hectic for some time. New components had to be brought in through the gate, others had to be obtained from alien worlds, but in time, things did move on. Advance Team One was afforded the option to remain aboard, but in light of the trials they had faced, no one was surprised when they turned it down.
[19:14] <Wavey>  Back on Equestria, the space program did end up dialing back its activity a bit, taking an easier pace toward the future. In all though, things got better, and Destiny continued its trek between the stars, finding wonders and dangers beyond imagine.
