  2. MetalVolt - Today at 10:52 PM
  3. Regarding the ordeal that occurred earlier in the Red Scarves Hideout (starting approx. 2:55 p.m. Eastern time in #general-discussion). I am concerned about the fact that there seems to be significant bias among higher levels of the moderation toward other members of the server. I feel that any and all criticism, even when done constructively, toward certain members of the moderating staff are immediately met with hostile and rashly judged punishment. This has, and continues, to create an unwelcoming atmosphere for the server. I am very well aware that this server is not democratic; however, the fact that members of the moderation see it fit to warrant severe action against members with differing opinions on a questionable matter to begin with are appalling. While order is necessary to maintain a clean, productive, and fun server; trust in the moderation to do as they are appointed and to be an example of how users should act is equally important. How can one expect people to be willing to post civil, meaningful conversation when the possibility exists that their words can be used against them, again even when such words are of a non-hostile nature. This is a very serious problem. The fact that the events of today even occurred is utterly terrifying, and may reflect negatively (as a fan-run server with official blessing) on the staff at GalaxyTrail.
  4. To prevent further issues, and to help facilitate a more trustworthy environment. It is suggested that a concrete, detailed set of procedures for appealing moderation cases to the (moderation) staff as a whole be made. This increases the likelihood that any actions made by the moderation are well thought-out, justified, and fair to all; and, will promote a safer and happier community for series fans to converse and share fan-works without the fear of retaliation from the likes of dog-piling, mobbing, and/or general unwarranted hostility.

  6. This concern is being submitted to you, as an unbiased party on the subject matter. It is my hope that this matter can be logically and civilly discussed for the better of the server and the community as a whole.
  7. (appologies, the original text document was too many words for a single post)
