  1. You bunch up your hind legs and prepare yourself for a hop to the north.
  2.
  3. You hop out of the room.
  4. The Champions' Bridge.
  5. The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth.
  6. [There are guards and stuff here]
  7. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn
  8. is here. He wields a Shield of Absorption bearing the city arms of Targossas in his left hand and a
  9. vorpal broadsword in his right.
  10.
  11. look aodfionn
  12. He is a powerful troll. He stands at around three metres in height with a heavy set, barrel-chested
  13. build. A rathers bulky fellow, his gray, rough hide is covered in a mosaic of tribal tattoos. On his
  14. right hand, a crude design of three undulating horizontal lines has been carved. Big, round yellow
  15. eyes peer out from beneath a sloped brow. He is unshaven, and much of his face is covered by a long,
  16. graying beard that has been knotted in the middle. Heavy bags are under his eyes, and wrinkles have
  17. begun to form around his eyes and mouth. On his forehead rests a large tattoo of a Golden Lotus.
  18. He is wearing:
  19. a brooch depicting a black dragon in flight,
  20. a canvas backpack,
  21. a shimmering suit of full plate armour,
  22. an indigo leather backstrap,
  23. a weathered ring of whale bone,
  24. a stained glass pendulum,
  25. a green and blue woven bracelet, and
  26. vivid sky blue leather sandals
  27.
  28. The gullet of Tahquil expands as she gives a hearty croak at Aodfionn as she hops on Aodfionn's sandals.
  29.
  30. Aodfionn inclines his head politely.
  31.
  32. Aodfionn peers at you unscrupulously.
  33.
  34. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn frowns and says, "Hrm."
  35.
  36. Your race is now that of Mhun.
  37. With a sigh of relief you find that you are no longer a slimy toad.
  38. <<OH WHAT? NOOOOOOO IT WORE OFF ALL TO SOON! TECTON HALP!>>
  39.
  40. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn frowns and says, "I can only imagine which
  41. divine you managed to piss off. Regardless, come, come in to the city. You'll likely get hit by a
  42. carriage or something, out here."
  43.
  44. Aodfionn makes a beckoning motion.
  45.
  46. Aodfionn blinks.
  47.
  48. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Well. Or that."
  49.
  50. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Clearly I am good luck."
  51.
  52. You blink.
  53.
  54. You say, "How did I get here?"
  55.
  56. You peer about yourself unscrupulously.
  57.
  58. Aodfionn blinks.
  59.
  60. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn frowns and says, "I nearly stepped on you.
  61. Something had transformed you into a toad."
  62.
  63. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Did you piss off a Divine recently,
  64. perhaps, or some form of wizard?"
  65.
  66. You say frowning, "No I.. I was tending the garden and then I was here."
  67.
  68. Aodfionn blinks.
  69.
  70. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Well. I imagine you're the good luck
  71. charm, considering a hawk didn't eat you."
  72.
  73. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says to you, "Regardless - it is pleasant
  74. to see you here. Moreso, now, that you're not a small amphibian."
  75.
  76. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says to you, "If you care for tea, we have
  77. some - if you need a drink after all that, though, we have that too."
  78.
  79. You have emoted: Tahquil's brow stays wrinkled as she glances to a dusky lily in her hands.
  80.
  81. You say, "I'm not sure about either?"
  82.
  83. Aodfionn creases his brow in a frown.
  84.
  85. Aodfionn makes a beckoning motion.
  86.
  87. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Either follow or not, being seeing a
  88. toad turn into a mhun is sufficiently unsettling enough to warrant a lemonade for myself."
  89.
  90. Tahquil peers at the close proximity she stands to Aodfionn and takes a distinct
  91. step backwards.
  92.
  93. You say, "Only lemonade?"
  94.
  95. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says to you, "Ahh, my thanks, I had worried
  96. you were simply going to hold on to my leg, the whole way."
  97.
  98. [MOVEMENT]
  99.
  100. The Ivory Empyre (indoors).
  101. Cloaked behind a veiled secrecy of luxurious, gold and ebon velvet drapes, this small alcove offers
  102. a quiet retreat for those seeking a more refined atmosphere. Dimly lit by a solitary chandelier, its
  103. wrought iron prongs twisting and turning in graceful curves, the room serves as a cocktail lounge
  104. for the most discerning of clientele. A polished mahogany bar in the far corner heaves with a
  105. plethora of glasses and drinking utensils, the smell of liqueur melding perfectly with an underlying
  106. tone of beeswax. Private booths, tucked away around the edges of the chamber, offer a sanctuary for
  107. relaxation and fine drinking. A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. A small, gold plaque
  108. is set into a nearby stone wall. Holding a glass up to the light, Galdwin inspects the fruits of his
  109. labour. A mahogany counter with a covering of black leather is here. There are 4 stools with a
  110. covering of black leather here. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn is here. He
  111. wields a Shield of Absorption bearing the city arms of Targossas in his left hand and a vorpal
  112. broadsword in his right.
  113.
  114. Galdwin, an elderly bartender bows respectfully to Aodfionn.
  115. Galdwin, an elderly bartender says, "Most esteemed guest, make yourself at home and take a look at
  116. my wares."
  117.
  118. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "There's booze if you want it. I
  119. don't drink unless I've excommunicated someone."
  120.
  121. You clear your throat.
  122.
  123. You say, "Yes well, the intimacy was not intended, I assure you."
  124.
  125. Aodfionn nods his head emphatically.
  126.
  127. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "So, what'll it be for you - booze,
  128. lemonade?"
  129.
  130. Aodfionn buys a glass of Citrus Frost.
  131. Aodfionn buys a glass of Citrus Frost.
  132. Aodfionn buys a glass of Citrus Frost.
  133. Aodfionn buys a glass of Citrus Frost.
  134.
  135. Aodfionn gives a glass of Citrus Frost to Galdwin, an elderly bartender.
  136. Galdwin, an elderly bartender shakes his head at Aodfionn.
  137. Galdwin, an elderly bartender exclaims, "I really do not want this. Thank you, though!"
  138. Aodfionn gives a glass of Citrus Frost to Galdwin, an elderly bartender.
  139. Galdwin, an elderly bartender shakes his head at Aodfionn.
  140. Galdwin, an elderly bartender exclaims, "I really do not want this. Thank you, though!"
  141. <<Aodfionn you doofus, wrong person>>
  142.
  143. The ice cubes within an orange-tinted glass clink as Aodfionn takes a small sip.
  144.
  145. Aodfionn's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
  146.
  147. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Ahh, this one is a mix... how
  148. strange."
  149.
  150. You have emoted: Tahquil gives a light chuckle as she bobs her head.
  151.
  152. Poof! You have been turned into a Toad!
  153. Your race is now that of Toad.
  154. You feel your tongue lengthen and your body simultaneously shorten and widen, and warts pop into
  155. place across your skin. A deep desire to devour a fly overwhelms you.
  156. <<<THANK YOU TECTON!! <3 >>>
  157.
  158. You croak, "With the multitude of glasses you brought I thought ma-."
  159.
  160. She is a toad. That's right, a toad. Huge, bulbous warts protrude from slimy greenish-grey skin, and
  161. thick hairs grow out of each wart. She squats on webbed feet and hands, each finger and toe ending
  162. in a round knob. A wide mouth opens in a permanent grin, her long, sticky tongue hanging from one
  163. corner. Big, round eyes rest atop her head like two pasty balls with long black slits for pupils,
  164. staring about in confused interest.
  165.
  166. Aodfionn peers about himself unscrupulously.
  167.
  168. Tahquil's words are interrupted as she suddenly shrinks again, before she finished
  169. her sentence with a small "ribbet".
  170.
  171. Aodfionn grunts and sighs deeply, watching helplessly as the glasses fall to the floor.
  172.
  173. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says to you, "We're going to put you
  174. somewhere where you will hopefully be less freaked out, when you come to."
  175.
  176. Aodfionn ponders the situation.
  177.
  178. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Hell. You won't remember this anyway.
  179. Why am I talking to a toad."
  180.
  181. Aodfionn grunts quietly as he kneels down and gingerly scoops you up in one large, grey hand,
  182. cupping his palms around you as he takes off to the west.
  183.
  184. [MOVEMENT]
  185.
  186. River near Jaru
  187. Tahquil croaks softly at Aodfionn before her wide mouth opens. Tilting her whole
  188. body she begins to try and bite the meaty Troll fingers carrying her.
  189.
  190. Frowning slightly, Aodfionn leans down and gently places you upon a small, flattened stone near the
  191. grassline of the river's edge.
  192.
  193. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says quietly, "A somewhat poor view, but it
  194. will make for a better place to wake up than in the city."
  195.
  196. Aodfionn blinks.
  197.
  198. Aodfionn cringes and drops his face into his palms with a shake of his head.
  199.
  200. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "You can't hear me. Bah. I could be
  201. speaking nonsense, and all you'd have is 'ribbit.'"
  202.
  203. Aodfionn peers at you unscrupulously.
  204.
  205. Tahquil's tongue shoots out at the retreating hand, her long tongue tangling with
  206. Aodfionn's finger and leaves the amphibean dangling with her thin legs flailing.
  207.
  208. Aodfionn blinks incredulously at you.
  209.
  210. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn frowns and says, "Moments in my life I
  211. could never have foreseen."
  212.
  213. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says to you, "I, eh... shit. I don't know
  214. if there is toad food nearby. I don't know what you eat."
  215.
  216. Aodfionn looks about himself, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
  217.
  218. Aodfionn grunts and points at you for a moment - then to the river. Once more, he points and you,
  219. and then once more to the river.
  220.
  221. Tahquil manages to retract her tongue enough to push at the tangled fingers
  222. clumsily with her webbed feet.
  223.
  224. Aodfionn peers about himself unscrupulously.
  225.
  226. Aodfionn gives a pained sigh.
  227.
  228. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Gods damnit."
  229.
  230. Aodfionn moves to your side, ready to defend you against all foes.
  231.
  232. Aodfionn rubs his hands together in prayer, and you feel healing energy begin to emanate into your
  233. surroundings.
  234.
  235. Finally, Tahquil manages to free her sticky tongue and falls backwards to the stone
  236. to find herself stuck in an upside-down predicament and begins to thrash as she tries to right
  237. herself.
  238.
  239. His yellow eyes sparkling in amusement, Aodfionn smiles warmly as he takes a seat on the ground next
  240. to you and prods you, pushing you back on your reptilian belly and legs.
  241.
  242. Tahquil gives a serious of deep, rumbling croaks in her body as she blinks, her
  243. eyes sinking down into her tiny skull for a brief moment before returning to stare dully at Aodfionn.
  244.
  245. Aodfionn stares implacably at you.
  246.
  247. You stare implacably at Aodfionn.
  248.
  249. You blink.
  250.
  251. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says to you, "A long time ago, I would have
  252. squished you, had I had this chance."
  253.
  254. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says musingly, "How things change."
  255.
  256. Aodfionn grunts and turns over a concave rock, emulating a tiny stone bowl upon the ground. He
  257. gently pours a small bit of citrus juice upon it, leaving a small pool in the indent.
  258.
  259. Tahquil continues her content sounding throat grumbles as Aodfionn before she spots
  260. her prey, those chunky troll fingers and awkwardly hurries to try and snare them again but the
  261. bungling walk is to slow.
  262.
  263. Tahquil emits a angry sounding bark at Aodfionn.
  264.
  265. Aodfionn's eyes sparkle with amusement.
  266.
  267. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "How very strange."
  268.
  269. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Even if toad-like form, you retain
  270. the sentient capacity for unnecessary bravery and aggression, lacking the fearful instincts."
  271.
  272. Aodfionn looks long and hard at you, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
  273.
  274. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Hm. Unable to remember, but sentient
  275. to a degree, perhaps."
  276.
  277. Aodfionn ponders the situation.
  278.
  279. Tahquil's broad mouth opens wide, only a sliver of her long, pink tongue visible as
  280. she lifts herself up all her legs. For a moment it looks like a comical aggressive stance aimed at
  281. Aodfionn until she totters over and bashed the points of her jaws against the rudimentary as she
  282. attempts to scoop up the small puddle of orange juice.
  283.
  284. Aodfionn smiles softly.
  285.
  286. Tahquil continues the procedure over and over, rising up and attacking the citrus
  287. drink until she is finally successful at tasting the fluid. By the suddenly clawing of her webbed
  288. feet at her mouth it isn't pleasant, at least not to a toad.
  289.
  290. Aodfionn chuckles long and heartily.
  291.
  292. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says to you, "More for me, then."
  293.
  294. Aodfionn takes a sip from an orange-tinted glass.
  295.
  296. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says to you, "I do wish I knew how you came
  297. to be in this state. I have seen mortals made to maggots, but toads are far more rare."
  298.
  299. Aodfionn looks about himself, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
  300.
  301. If a toad could glare, Tahquil probably would but instead her bulbous liquid eyes
  302. simply stare at Aodfionn before she throws herself bodily at the Troll, rebounding off his knee with
  303. a wet 'BLAT'.
  304.
  305. Aodfionn peers at you unscrupulously.
  306.
  307. Falling, Tahquil finds herself on her back again and resumes her previous hopeless
  308. leg waving.
  309.
  310. Aodfionn sighs softly as he gently nudges you back over to your feet.
  311.
  312. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn frowns and says to you, "You do that again,
  313. and I'm throwing you to the docks on the other side."
  314.
  315. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn frowns and says to you, "When you wake up
  316. soaking wet in the river, you will have none to blame but yourself."
  317.
  318. As soon as Tahquil finds her feet again she throws herself back at Aodfionn's knee.
  319. This time as she falls she bounces on her side, flipping once before righting.
  320.
  321. You stare implacably at Aodfionn.
  322.
  323. Furrowing his brow slightly, Aodfionn grunts as he swiftly picks you up and rises to his feet.
  324. "Damnable creatures. I'm not food," he mumbles before cocking his arm back, and throwing you with
  325. considerable force toward the far bank of the river. His aim is true, and you hit the water well
  326. short of the dangerous docks.
  327.
  328. Deacon Aodfionn Wintermourne, Sentinel of the Ivory Dawn says, "Bloody frogs..."
  329. .
  330. You are separated from Aodfionn. He can no longer defend you.
  331.
  332. You bunch up your hind legs and prepare yourself for a hop to the southwest.
  333. You hop out of the room.
  334. Pachacacha passing Jaru.
  335. The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. A kelp plant waves in the
  336. currents.
  337.
  338. The brisk river current washes you to the southeast.
  339. Pachacacha west of Putoran.
  340.
  341. The rapid current washes you downstream, to the south.
  342. Meandering Pachacacha.
  343.
  344. You're washed downstream, to the southeast, by the current.
  345. Pachacacha approaching a delta.
  346.
  347. You're carried downstream, to the southeast by the rushing current.
  348. The Peshwar Delta.
  349.
  350. //Later//
  351. A dove comes flying into the room, deposits a letter into your hands, warbles cheerfully, and flies
  352. away.
  353. You read what is written on an intricately embossed letter:
  354. To the Hedgehog,
  355.
  356. This letter is to offer my apologies and explanation for your likely
  357. state of drenched confusion, upon reading this.
  358.
  359. You appeared in the Dawnspear as a sickly, bulbous amphibian, hopping
  360. about on my foot. When you reverted to your mhun form, you seemed rather
  361. confused. I am unsure what Divinity you managed to piss off, but you
  362. seemed to be a repeat offender, as you reverted to your toadly self as I
  363. was treating you to drinks.
  364.
  365. In what I intended to be courteous, I took you out near the river close
  366. to the ruins. You rejected my offering of citrus juice, and - from as
  367. best as I can tell - tried to eat me. Despite the size differential, I
  368. was not about to let a toad try to devour an Ice Troll, so I tossed you
  369. in the river.
  370.
  371. My apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. Please know that I
  372. would be happy to buy you a drink as recompense for being hurled like a
  373. skipping rock.
  374.
  375. In service to Them,
  376.
  377. Aodfionn Wintermourne
  378. Deacon of Celestia
