  1. (This is a document detailing what the Void's Chosen have discovered about the Blackened Void. In universe, it is maintained by Takashi Wakui, hence why things here are written from his perspective.)

  7. Okay, here's the document about the Blackened Void's Sectors you guys asked me to create. It took me an hour which I could've been spent studying my school assignments. You're all welcome. Whenever you guys find out something new about our situation, tell me about it via AETHER chat and I'll add. Make sure you describe everything correctly, though.

  11. PLAYER: The Sector's chosen Player. This is most likely to be the first person who arrives there (i.e. by having time frozen and being dragged down by those shadowy hands).

  13. DESCRIPTION: Duh. What the Sector is like. Fumika got on my case about climate, so it'll be added in.
  14. DENIZENS: According to AETHER, these are the natural residents of the Sector. Apparently. So far, all of them have tried to kill us.
  15. COMPANION: Every Sector has a Companion for the Player, who can assist the latter in combat and stuff. All Fumika has done is use hers as a meat shield.

  17. SHADOW TYPES: The kinds of Shadows encountered in the Sector, categorized by the types of skills they use. E.g., Fire, Ice, Electricity, Poison, Enervation etc. It DOES NOT mean that Shadows of these types only appear in the Sector. Remember, this document is likely to be updated heavily over the course of this 'game'.
  18. BONFIRES: Resting spots for us. The number of bonfires lit and their names (as shown on the AETHER app) will be here.

  23. [THE FORGOTTEN CITY]

  25. PLAYER: Me, Takashi, Wakui, for all the good it does for me.

  27. DESCRIPTION: An empty city, with dilapidated structures and towering ruins stretching as far as the eye can see. The sky is perpetually blanketed with thick, dark clouds, with nary a ray of sunlight poking through. The air is dusty and it is always cold. Our safehouse is here.
  28. DENIZENS: Unknown as for now. Maybe what Chikashi transformed into counts? It's hard to say for sure...
  29. COMPANION: None. The Leader doesn't get a real Companion, according to that guide snippet I got. Am I supposed to believe that you guys are my Companions?

  31. SHADOW TYPES: Very varied, hard to pin down specific types. They've all been rather weak so far, though.

  36. [HAZEBOUND WOODLANDS]

  38. PLAYER: Celeste Tachibana

  40. DESCRIPTION: A gigantic forest shrouded in a dense fog. It obscures our vision and can be warded off by fire, it seems. The trees seem to stretch up for miles and the fog makes the place rather chilly and damp. The grounds are soft, too. Also, I think the plantlife in the forest is naturally grown, which is frankly mind-boggling when you think about it.
  41. DENIZENS: Elves. Unlike the ones found in classical fiction, the ones here are completely insane and have faces that are covered in nasty boils and pustules. I'd call them zombies, but they are too intelligent for that. Also, they don't smell like rotting flesh.
  42. COMPANION: Not yet found, but Celeste has been pestering me about it lately, so we're going to find him/her next.

  44. SHADOW TYPES: Physical, Ice, Wind, Darkness, Poison, Fear, Sleep.
  45. BONFIRES: 2 (Entrance, Abandoned Hut)

  49. [PYRE RUIN VALLEY]

  51. PLAYER: Akikazu Osaragi

  53. DESCRIPTION: A valley blanketed in eternal sunset. The air is dry, the ground is scorched and the heat is everywhere. Clouds are non-existent and the sky is bloody crimson. Any plantlife found in this Sector is either super hardy or utterly dead. Remember to bring plenty of water, because you won't be finding any of that precious stuff here.
  54. DENIZENS: Knights in hulking metal armor. It's weird. Wouldn't the sheer heat fry them like eggs?
  55. COMPANION: Knight Laurence, a knight who has lost his memory. He was the first Companion we encountered. He's now in the 'service' of Akikazu Osaragi. Laurence has a longsword and a shield and he's decent with both. I keep telling Akikazu to summon him more often.

  63. PLAYER: Fumika Shibuya

  65. DESCRIPTION: A place that can only be described as the aftermath of a meteor impact. The entire Sector is a massive crater, with walls as steep as the Himalayan slopes. The sky is shrouded with smog belched from the chimneys of factories. Numerous cubical facilities are scattered across the bottom. Out of all the Sectors, Area 019 is the closest to our world. We got the chance to go inside one during our mission to rescue Fumika and it looked like a research lab found in our world. It even had a subject holding tube filled with fluid and everything. Didn't make the place any less creepy, but there you go.

  67. DENIZENS: Robots...? I'm not sure if the one we fought was sentient. Maybe the place is staffed by androids? Read below to find an argument against that.
  68. COMPANION: 114, a monster that looks like the unholy offspring of a komodo dragon, a tiger on steroids and several gallons of magenta paint. His existence brings up the question of what the Denizens of Area 019 actually are. If it's the robots alone, then why is 114 here? If it's 114, then what purpose do the robots serve, given that there's so many of them (maybe Denizens have to be sentient creatures???). Another alternative that Akikazu (of all fucking people) came up with is that Denizens include multiple species. Fumika thinks this is the most plausible explanation. We'll see.
