  1. >You stand outside the gate of the largest estate you've ever seen.
  2. >Filthy Rich sure lives up to his name.
  3. >You press the call button on the post next to the gate.
  4. >A garbled voice comes over the speaker.
  5. >You didn't catch a word of it.
  6. "Uh... I'm here to watch Diamond Tiara tonight? Her foalsitter."
  7. >The unintelligible voice came over the speakers once more.
  8. >The gates swing open and free up the path to the winding road up the hill to the mansion.
  9. >It's not a steep hill by any means, but the fact that the road snakes back and forth makes it annoying and takes several minutes longer than it should.
  10. >It's lined with an ankle-high brick wall and some neatly-trimmed hedges.
  11. >You finally hit the roundabout part of the driveway that encompassed a large fountain.
  12. >An extended carriage was waiting out front of the house.
  13. >Walking by, you climb the steps of the front doorstep and ring the doorbell.
  14. >A petite maid answers the door.
  15. >She reels back not just in surprise at your height, but because she can't look at you by standing that close.
  16. >"Can I help you?" she asks.
  17. "Yeah. I'm here to watch Diamond Tiara tonight."
  18. >"Oh, the foalsitter. I'm sorry, I wasn't expecting a, uh..."
  19. "Monkey?"
  20. >"I was going to say stallion."
  21. "Oh... Sorry."
  22. >Way to look like an asshole.
  23.
  24. >"If you would follow me, please. Mr. Rich would like to have a word with you before he goes."
  25. "Lead the way."
  26. >The servant leads you through the foyer and up a large staircase at the end of the room.
  27. >The stairs split off in two directions at the top so you tail the maid up one set.
  28. >A tall, long hallway stretched before you.
  29. >A regal red carpet extended the length of the hallway.
  30. >Several busts on pedestals lined the walls with several large portraits hung up as well.
  31. >Filthy Rich does not screw around when he wants to have the best for his family.
  32. >The servant mare stops at a large door at the end of the hallway.
  33. >"Please wait here," she says back at you.
  34. >She knocks and then disappears into the room.
  35. >A few moments later, she pokes her head back out.
  36. >"Mr. Rich will see you now."
  37.
  38. >The servant held the door open for you as you entered.
  39. >The room was a large study with bookcases, a globe, and an astrology chart around the room.
  40. >Filthy Rich sat at a large wooden desk flanked by several comfortable-looking chairs.
  41. >The curtains to the large bay window behind him were closed to keep the sun out.
  42. >"Anonymous! Please, sit. I wish to discuss the terms of your employment."
  43. >You take your seat and the maid bows her head as she backs out of the room.
  44. >Jeez, the guy's an entrepreneur, not royalty.
  45. "So what's up?"
  46. >Not exactly the formal one, are you?
  47. >"I assume you know why you're here?"
  48. "To baby sit your daughter."
  49. >"That's about half right. You see, I'm hosting a formal party tonight and need to give it my full attention to entertain the stuck ups that will be attending. Diamond Tiara will not be able to attend for various reasons. One, she's not old enough and will probably try to drink some of the alcohol I plan to have served. Two, she would be bored."
  50. "What are you getting at?"
  51. >"What I'm saying is, I want to you do more than just watch her for the night. I want you to be her friend."
  52.
  53. >You raise an eyebrow at the proposal.
  54. "You what?"
  55. >"She's not the most friendly filly, I admit, but I just need you to entertain her for the time the party is going."
  56. "And how exactly will I do that?"
  57. >Filthy leans back in his chair and smiles.
  58. >"That's for you to find out. I will pay you more than your usual rate should you accept."
  59. >Five bits a night per child and then some?
  60. "Anything I should know beforehand?"
  61. >"Her best friend will more than likely be here as well."
  62. "Am I charged with watching them both?"
  63. >"They'll probably be around each other all night. Is that an issue?"
  64. "It might be. I won't take responsibility for her if I don't have to."
  65. >"Well I wouldn't want her parents to get angry in the event she gets into trouble... Alright. I'll pay you to watch both children."
  66. >Filthy Rich rises from his seat and extends a hoof across the desk.
  67. >You in turn meet him halfway and shake on it.
  68. "Well alright then. When do you need me here?"
  69. >"Come back at around... Let's say 7 o'clock? Party starts at 8 and it shouldn't last more than a few hours."
  70. "That sounds fine. I'll see you tonight."
  71. >The servant comes back into the room at this moment.
  72. >"Until then, Anonymous."
  73. >You follow the maid back out the front door and make your way down the driveway.
  74. >Caterers and decorators are pulling up as you leave.
  75.
  76. >It's about that time when you start making your way back to Filthy Rich's estate.
  77. >The sun was starting to lower in the sky of this warm summer evening.
  78. >You had to wait in line behind several carriages that were also trying to get onto the estate.
  79. >The ponies that rode inside often acosted you for your choice in clothing or the manner in which you carried yourself.
  80. >Or maybe it was just because you were a human.
  81. >That's always the possibility with these types.
  82. >When you got cleared and buzzed onto the estate, you walked straight up the hill through the grass and cutting off some of the rich pony carriages.
  83. >They still got fifteen minutes before the party starts.
  84. >If they decide to hold up the rest of the group by chatting, that's their fault.
  85. >You have business to attend to.
  86. >The front door was propped open and Filty Rich and his maid servant were greeting the guests as they arrived.
  87. >Filthy Rich spotted you in line and waved you to the front.
  88. >The elite can kiss your ass as you step over them to meet Filthy Rich.
  89. >"Good evening, Anonymous. Diamond Tiara is in her room. Miss Feather Duster, please take Anonymous to meet Diamond Tiara."
  90. >"Yes, Mr. Rich. Please follow me, sir."
  91.
  92. >Up the stairs and off the opposite way of the study.
  93. >There were many more rooms and hallwyas down this way.
  94. >This place was huge!
  95. >The maid stopped at one door and knocked.
  96. >"What? What do you want?" called a voice from inside.
  97. >"Diamond Tiara," called Miss Feather Duster. "The foalsitter's here."
  98. >A loud groan came from inside.
  99. >The door slowly cracked open as the filly peered out.
  100. >All she could see was the maid who was waiting patiently for her to open it all the way.
  101. >Diamond Tiara slowly cracked the door open more and more.
  102. >There was no one else around.
  103. >It wasn't until it was wide open did ou grab the door and pull it the rest of the way.
  104. >Diamond Tiara's eyes went wide when she saw the immense foalsitter that was to watch her tonight.
  105. "Hi," you greeted with a little way.
  106. >Her jaw fell open.
  107. >Feather Duster glanced back from you to Diamond Tiara.
  108. >"I must get back to Mr. Rich. You two have fun."
  109. "Have a good night," you tell her as she walks away.
  110.
  111. >"Why does my dad hate me?" blurted Diamond Tiara when the made was gone.
  112. >The random outburst made you raise an eyebrow.
  113. "Wait, what?"
  114. >"I don't need a foalsitter. I'm more mature than any of those other fillies you have to watch!"
  115. "Well I'm here on your father's orders. Can I come in?"
  116. >Diamond Tiara furled her brow and back into her room.
  117. >You follow her in and close the door behind you.
  118. >Silver Spoon was sitting on the large royal-looking bed listening to the conversation at the door.
  119. >You wave "hello" when you made eye contact, but she brushed you off.
  120. >Talk about a couple of stuck-ups.
  121. >Diamond Tiara went to sit at her desk with a large mirror and various makeups and started powdering her face.
  122. >You sat on the edge of the bed next to Silver Spoon who just sat there and looked at her pedicure.
  123. >And here you sat in silence for some time.
  124. >The two girls barely spoke to each other and tended to ignore your presence in the room altogether.
  125.
  126. >You sat there kicking your legs back and forth.
  127. >This bed was pretty high.
  128. >Must have been like six matresses on it.
  129. "So... What's with the tiara?" you ask.
  130. >Diamond Tiara looked back at you with an "Are you serious?" look on her face.
  131. >It quickly changed to a little smile.
  132. >"I am a princess," she said with a royal tone.
  133. >You're quick to cock your head to the side.
  134. >Daddy's little princess, maybe, but a legitimate one?
  135. >You have to call her out on that.
  136. >Eventually.
  137. "Really now? That would explain this castle of a house and your regal bed chambers."
  138. >"That's right. And this is Lady Silver Spoon."
  139. >"How do you do," said Silver Spoon as she held her hoof towards you.
  140. >You're not much for role playing, but you're curious to see just how far they'll go with this.
  141. >You slide off the bed, kneel down, and take Silver Spoon's hoof in hand and kiss it.
  142. >"The pleasure is all mine, Lady Silver Spoon."
  143. >"Hey! How dare you, greet the guest before the hostess!"
  144. >Diamond Tiara held out her own hoof and stuck up her nose.
  145. >You just roll your eyes and walk over to kiss her hoof.
  146. "My apologies, my princess."
  147. >"That's better."
  148.
  149. >You decided you've flattered them enough and sat back down next to Silver Spoon.
  150. >"What do you think you're doing?" asked Diamond Tiara.
  151. "Nothing, why?"
  152. >"Did I say you could sit on the princess's royal bed?"
  153. "No, but there isn't anywhere else to sit."
  154. >"Try the floor!" said Silver Spoon as she tried to push you off from behind.
  155. >Unfortunately for her, you're too big for her to move on her own.
  156. "Fine. Whatever."
  157. >You slide off the matress and onto the floor, leaning your back against the wood of the bed.
  158. >"Peasant. Fetch us some food," ordered Diamond Tiara, making a shooing motion with her hoof.
  159. >"I want some hors d'oeuvres," said Silver Spoon.
  160. >"Yes... Perhaps some deviled eggs will suffice."
  161. >"Agreed."
  162. >"Peasant!"
  163. >Diamond Tiara clopped her hooves together twice.
  164. >"We demand deviled eggs. Chop chop."
  165. >You roll your eyes again and stand.
  166. "Yes your majesty..."
  167. >"And hurry up!" she shouts as you leave.
  168. >If you're going to spend the next few hours playing servant to two pompous little girls, this could get real annoying real fast.
  169.
  170. >It took a while for you to even locate the kitchen in this freakin' mansion.
  171. >The household chef got a little pissed when he found you rifling through the cabinets until you explained your predicament.
  172. >A sarcastic "Good luck" was all he said to you before going about his usual business.
  173. >You boil up some eggs, slice them, and get the yolks, mayo, mustard, and a little salt and pepper mixed and prepped.
  174. >A sprinkle of peprika over the eggs and they're good to go.
  175. >You had to walk with your tray of food through the crowd of guests who thought you were a servant and berated you for not giving them some of the deviled eggs.
  176. >You have more important things to do than to cater to some self-centered rich folk.
  177. >Granted, that's exactly what you're doing with these two fillies, but that's not the point.
  178. >Returning to the room, both fillies are sitting impatiently on the bed and you place the tray between them.
  179. >They each take one in their hooves and eye it.
  180. >Diamond Tiara sniffs if before sticking her tongue out in disgust.
  181. >They chuck the eggs at you and Diamond Tiara flips the tray off the bed and onto the floor.
  182. >"Absolutely disgusting!" she shouts.
  183. >Now her floor is riddle with eggs and smashed seasoned yolks.
  184. "Hey, you dropped a few," you say in a monotone voice.
  185. >"Now clean it up!" she orders, pointing down to the mess.
  186. >You look up at her with a raised eyebrow.
  187.
  188. "You must have me confused with one of your maids," you retort.
  189. >"I'm your princess!" shouts Diamond Tiara.
  190. >If you didn't know better, you'd think she sounds a bit irritated.
  191. "And your dad is the king. Orders from here are to watch you. You're lucky I even bothered to try to get you some food."
  192. >The self-proclaimed princess's eye twitched as she seethed with anger.
  193. >"Well then, since you're not a servant, you can help with another matter."
  194. >The two fillies hopped off the bed and walked to the window opening it up.
  195. >"There," pointed Diamond Tiara out the window. "That sprouting tree is an eyesore. Go find someone to remove it."
  196. >Your curiosity gets the better of you as you walk over to and peer out the window.
  197. "Tree? I don't see any- Oh God!"
  198. >As you leaned out the window, the two fillies got behind you and shoved you out the two-story window.
  199. >You flail your arms to try to grab something as you fall but to no avail.
  200. >You're lucky enough to fall on a hedge, but you didn't bounce off of it our catch as you would have hoped.
  201. >Instead, you just crash through it and hit the ground below.
  202. >The groundskeeper ran over when he heard the impact.
  203. >Unfortunately, he was more pissed than anything and berated you for your clumsiness.
  204. >In retrospect, it was largely your blunder, but it wouldn't have happened had those brats not shoved out out a freakin' window.
  205.
  206. >The groundskeeper had his rant and went on about his way, grumbling obscenities at you.
  207. >You still lie in the crushed hedges, your legs sticking out between the branches.
  208. "Ow..." you groan after several minutes.
  209. >You peer up from your position and find the two fillies had been peering out the window at you.
  210. >"Have a nice trip!" shouts Diamond Tiara.
  211. >"See you next fall!" follows up Silver Spoon.
  212. >They laugh hysterically and shut the window.
  213. >You let out another groan and lay your head back.
  214. >Wait until the pain in your back lessens.
  215. >Then you can make your way back inside.
  216. >It takes several minutes, but when you finally do sit up, your back aches like hell.
  217. >Actually standing, you lean back and pop your spine several times.
  218. >The stinging sensation causes you to shiver.
  219. >Now to get back up there and beat some filly ass.
  220. >Walking around the garden you were in, you found the back entrance to the home.
  221. >Trying the door, you find that it's locked.
  222. >Knocking several times turns up no results.
  223. >The staff must be busy with the party.
  224. >You can't seem to find the groundskeeper around either.
  225. >You imagine he'd be the one with the keys, but that option is gone.
  226.
  227. >Trying the window next to it, you also find it locked.
  228. >Screw it.
  229. >You walk around the bottom floor and check every window you can.
  230. >You'd walk back around to the front, but then you'd have to go back through the main hall where the party is.
  231. >You don't want Filthy Rich to see you and wonder how you got back outside.
  232. >Reaching the backyard, you continue to search for an unlocked window.
  233. >As you try yet another unsuccessful entry, you freeze in place
  234. >A low growl causes you to stop dead in your tracks.
  235. >With your hands still on the windowsill, you slowly turn around to look at the source of the growl.
  236. >A big, burly guard dog stood ready to pounce and barred its teeth as it snarled at you.
  237. "H-Hey puppy... Good little puppy..."
  238. >You reach a hand out to it and it snaps at you, causing you to quickly retract it.
  239. >The dog started barking and you tried to hush it to no avail.
  240. >Eventually it decides to lunge at you.
  241. "Shit!" you shout as you move out of the way and haul ass.
  242. >Coming back around to the garden, you remember Diamond Tiara's window.
  243. >Taking a leap, you only get about halfway up the first floor window with one leg dangling down.
  244. >The guard dog also leaps after you and clamps down on your lower-hanging foot.
  245. >You cry out in pain and use your other foot to kick and stomp on the dog's face.
  246. >It lets go and you quickly pick your feet up and out of reach.
  247. >More barks and snarls follow suit as you climb with your crippled foot.
  248. >Throwing open the window, you thank God that they didn't lock it and you throw yourself into the room and tumble forward on the floor.
  249.
  250. >Taking a few deep breaths, you look around for the two offending fillies but they were nowhere to be found.
  251. >Uh oh.
  252. >Opening the door, you peek your head out and look down the hallway.
  253. >Still no sign of them.
  254. >You close the door behind you as you make your way down the hall.
  255. >If they're at the party, you're gonna be a little pissed off.
  256. >Not just you at them, but Filthy Rich is gonna be pissed at you for not doing your job.
  257. >You can't the most influencial guy in town on your bad side.
  258. >It's bad for business.
  259. >When you exit the hallway to the main hall and foyer.
  260. >The floor is crowded with fancy-dressed ponies mingling and chatting it up.
  261. >A couple servants carry trays of drinks and snacks around the room.
  262. >Wow this party looks boring as hell.
  263. >Be glad you weren't invited.
  264. >You slip past by staying on the second floor and move down towards Filthy Rich's study.
  265.
  266. >Coming up to the office door, you notice that it's cracked open.
  267. >Moving your ear close to the opening, you hear two voices inside.
  268. >Opening the door further reveals the two fillies rummaging through the cabinets.
  269. >What they're looking for becomes apparent when Diamond Tiara pulls out an oddly-shaped glass bottle with a crystal cap.
  270. >A brown liquid swished around on the inside.
  271. >"My dad only drinks the finest brandies," said Diamond Tiara as she dropped from chair she was standing on.
  272. >Oh hell no.
  273. >You enter the room fully and push the door closed behind you.
  274. "What do you two think you're doing?"
  275. >Your voice was so loud and sudden that Diamond Tiara dropped the bottle to the carpet at her hooves.
  276. >Good thing that glass bottle was thick and sturdy with the cap on tight.
  277. "What is that?" you ask pointing to the bottle Diamond Tiara just dropped.
  278. >Without waiting for an answer, you walk over and snatch it up.
  279. >Popping off the top, you take a whiff of the contents.
  280. >You curl up your noise and almost choke on the smell itself.
  281. >Christ, that stuff was strong.
  282. >And these two little girls were about to steal some.
  283. >Not on your watch.
  284.
  285. >You turn towards the fillies who were trying to sneak out of the room.
  286. "Hold it."
  287. >They freeze with the door cracked open.
  288. "What's to prevent me from telling your father what you were just doing?"
  289. >You shake the bottle in your hand at them.
  290. >"That... That you're irresponsible for allowing us to do so," said Diamond Tiara.
  291. "And what about pushing me out the window?"
  292. >"You let two little girls get the better of you?"
  293. >Touché.
  294. >Before you can come back with another comment, several voices are heard coming down the hall towards the study.
  295. >Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon start to freak out.
  296. >"It's my dad!" she says in a hushed tone.
  297. >"We have to hide!" says Silver Spoon as she pulls Diamond Tiara into the nearest floor-level cabinet.
  298. >You're still standing in the middle of the room with the bottle of brandy.
  299. >You quickly drop it on Filthy Rich's desk and look for a place to hide.
  300. >There's no where to go.
  301. >You pull the last resort and hide behind the thick red drapes at the window.
  302.
  303. >The fabric still flows a bit as Filthy Rich and his small entourage enter the room.
  304. >"I'm not sure why the door is open," says Filthy as he enters.
  305. >He spots his bottle of vintage brandy sitting on the desk.
  306. >"Ah, Miss Feather Duster. That must be why."
  307. >He sounds a bit innebriated.
  308. >"That pretty maid of yours sure knows what you like," commented one of the stallions with Mr. Rich.
  309. >"Isn't she a keeper?" he replies.
  310. >Filthy Rich stubs his hoof on the desk as he goes for the bottle of brandy.
  311. >He jumps back and yelps from the pain.
  312. >You peer out from the curtains as the others start to laugh at Mr. Rich's blunder.
  313. >You also spot Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon sneak from the cabinet and out the door.
  314. >They make a break for it down the hallway, leaving you to fend for yourself.
  315. >Filthy Rich pours several glasses of his brandy and passes them around to his guests.
  316. >They toast and drink and laugh about the most rediculous things.
  317. >Yeah, they're totally hammered.
  318. >Good thing too because otherwise they might notice your feet poking out from the bottom of the drapes.
  319.
  320. >Several minutes go by.
  321. >Half an hour.
  322. >Oh dear God, how long do they plan to hang out in here?
  323. >You contemplate just climbing out the window and coming back in through Diamond Tiara's bedroom again.
  324. >Perhaps you can just wait them out.
  325. >"Hey Richie, I feel a bit of a draft in here. Is that window open?" asked one of his guests.
  326. >Or perhaps not.
  327. >"I don't believe so. Let me check," said Filthy Rich.
  328. >Oh shit!
  329. >Abandon ship!
  330. >You quickly unlatch the window and bail.
  331. >As Filthy Rich goes to open the curtains, there's a knock on his door.
  332. >"Come in!" he calls.
  333. >It's Miss Feather Duster.
  334. >"Excuse me, Mr. Rich. We seem to have emptied our second cask of wine for the night. Do I have your permission to tap a third?"
  335. >"Yes you do, Miss Feather Duster. Thank you for informing me. Is there any issues regarding the food?"
  336. >"None that I've heard so far, sir."
  337. >"Very good. Thank you, Miss Feather Duster."
  338. >The servant gives a slight bow and leaves the room.
  339. >"Well gentlemen. I believe it's about time for us to get back to the rest of the party, yes?"
  340. >They agree and leave the study.
  341. >Filthy Rich remembers to check the window before he goes, closing and locking it before he too leaves the room.
  342. >Jumping out the window wasn't your most preferred plan, but it was necessary.
  343. >You could have done without the rose bush, though.
  344. >As you try to wriggle your way out and getting as few cuts as possible, you hear the last thing you want to hear right about now.
  345. >Turning your head to the side reveals a very large and very pissed off hound.
  346. >Oh dear God!
  347.
  348. >You clamber in through Diamond Tiara's window and collapse to the floor.
  349. >The hellhound that patrols the grounds barks and snarls up at the window from the ground below.
  350. >Your clothes are ripped and chewed up.
  351. >Your face and hands and any other exposed skin was cut and scratched from the thorns, teeth, and claws.
  352. >You were beaten and broken.
  353. >And you've had enough of this shit.
  354. >Rising up on weakened legs, you hobble your way out of the room and down the hall.
  355. >You have a hunch of where those two little fillies might be.
  356. >Making your way through the mansion and downstairs, you enter the kitchen for the second time that night.
  357. >The two fillies were standing on the counters and shouting orders at the short order cook who was frantically running around trying to appease them.
  358. >He looked like he was about to lose his mind.
  359. >Lucky for him, you already have.
  360. >Without a word, you walk up to and snatch Silver Spoon from behind and tuck her under your arm.
  361. >"What do you think you're doing! Releasing me at once!" she demanded.
  362. >Not happening.
  363. >Diamond Tiara heard her friend scream and tried to run a little too late.
  364. >You snatch her up and hold her tight under your second arm.
  365. >"How dare you handle a princess like this!" she shouted. "My father will hear about this!"
  366. "Shut up."
  367. >Surprisingly, they do.
  368. "You," you say to the cook. "Bring something simple up to the 'princess's' room ASAP."
  369. >"Yes sir," said the cook as he went to his duty.
  370.
  371. >You carry the two squirming and shouting fillies back up to Diamond Tiara's room.
  372. >Kicking the door open, you walk in and chuck the two of them onto the bed.
  373. >As you go to kick the door closed, there's a quick knock.
  374. >The cook was at the door with a tray of sandwiches.
  375. "Thank you, good sir," you say to try to lighten his night up a bit and as thanks for cooperating with you.
  376. >He nods and leaves, allowing you to shut the door.
  377. >You pick two sandwiches off the tray and inspect them.
  378. >Peanut butter and jelly.
  379. >Perfect.
  380. >You whip a sandwich at each of the fillies, who again cry and moan from having food thrown at them and being thrown onto the bed.
  381. >You didn't even throw them that hard.
  382. >Diamond Tiara started complaining about what you were trying to force-feed her.
  383. "I said eat it!"
  384. >They immediately shut their traps and sit looking at you with wide eyes.
  385. >You shut and lock the door then shut and lock the window.
  386. >Pulling up the stool for Diamong Tiara's makeup table, you plop yourself down and stare at them.
  387.
  388. >Time passes and they've seem to run out of things to complain about.
  389. >Or maybe they just got bored.
  390. >Either way, by the time Filthy Rich had knocked on the bedroom door again, they were knocked out on top of each other on the bed.
  391. >"D'aww... That's adorable," said the stumbling entrepeneur. "My little angel."
  392. >He saunters over and gives her a drunken kiss of the forehead.
  393. >Apparently he's so incoherent that he doesn't even notice your unkempt and pissed off state.
  394. >"Here's your payment for the night," said Filthy Rich as he poured out a sack of coins into your hands.
  395. >Several bits fell to the floor.
  396. >Why he didn't just you the bag to begin with you have no idea.
  397. >"You're gonna have to count that, but I believe Miss Feather Duster counted them out for you. Unless I used a few to tip some of the ladies downstairs, then you may be short a few."
  398. >He laughed and snorted to himself.
  399. >"Well anyways, I'm going to bed. Good night Anonymous!"
  400. >Filthy Rich almost tripped over himself as he moved to the door.
  401. >Good thing the maid was there to help him to his bed chambers.
  402. >Counting the bits he gave you, you had only received 11 bits.
  403. >Five each for the two fillies plus a "bonus".
  404. >Wow...
  405. >You're really rolling in the dough now.
  406. >This was so not worth the headache.
  407. >Or the mauling.
