- Since 2009, the INDECT project is being designed by the European Union, private companies, universities and consortia. This project, part of the FP7 framework, aims to create a system of detection of "conspicuous" behaviour that collects data from CCTV, Internet databases (social networks, blogs, websites, e-mails and more) and cross them with government files. Those kind of system we also met abroad (for example Trapwire in the United States) threaten both our freedom and privacy. We ask ourselves how a computer (a robot) could handle the identification of what is abnormal in human behavior. Moreover, we are worried about criterias the system will use to do so.
- This project is being developped using huge amounts of money taken in the pockets of the European citizens, without any vote of their representatives while the population is being forced to the drastic austerity the Union has decided for them.
- We invite you to send that e-mail to members of the European Parliament, to alert them about that matter, and conduce them to defend our Rights to privacy and freedom.
