  1. I'm bored, it's late, and there's no way I'm sleeping tonight.
  2.
  3. After a certain someone's status about ghosts and spirits, I thought this was a good idea (albeit, a little slow).
  4.
  5. I'll start with one that my sister told me about angels, she was told by a lecturer of hers, she's studying religion (and history) to become a teacher.
  6. It's rather late (once again breaking the no posting past 2am rule) so the story might be a little off, especially as the professor and my sister where both telling it from memory.
  7.
  8.
  9. There was this boy, when he was little he had an imaginary friend, although he believed it to be real. He described it as a lion with wings, although not knowing the word "lion" and may not have even seen a lion before. He had a strange name for it, although the lecturer could not remember it. When he had to learn to read and write, he claimed it was alright because the winged lion had already thought him how to read and write. He showed his parents this by writing, although they were just illegible scribbles and swirls. He had to read and write and such, and soon forgot about his imaginary friend. After a few years without the lion, he believed that it was just his imagination, that it was actually real. He grew up and went to university. I think he went to Cambridge, I don't remember exactly but it was a very good university.
  10. His parents had another child, a little girl. When he was away at school he got a phone call from his parents. His little sister had an imaginary friend too, a winged lion by the same name. This was very strange because he never told her about this friend. His mother gave him some of the old scribbles of what he believed was writing. Just to check if the daughter was doing the same. He had the scribbles with him when one of his professors saw it and asked him about it. The boy told him about the winged lion whose name I don't know. He told the boy about the Babylonians, how they believed angels were winged animals (eg, winged bears, winged deer, winged lions, etc.) and called them the name that the boy and his sister called the lion. The professor brought the sheet with the drawing to another professor at the school who studied the Babylonians. The two professors had recognized the scribbles and swirls as the old Babylonian language. The second professor was able to translate it loosely to phrases like "Today I played on the swings", "Today I played outside", "I like toys", etc. All sentences that boys the age that the boy was at the time of writing would write.
  11.
  12. This was many years ago. The sister grew up, again with the lion disappearing, and got married. She is pregnant and they're waiting to see if her child will also have same "imaginary" friend.

  15. What do you think?

  17. [NOTE TO IB CHAT: With recent information I have learned about Adam, Lilith, Eve and Angels, I'm not entirely sure about the accuracy of the below paragraph]
  18.
  19. Just before anyone asks, the modern Christian depiction of angels is completely stupid. Angels do not look like people, because people were made in God's image. Actually, the reason Lucifer (the Devil) fell is because he refused to worship humans. He believed he should only have to worship God, not imitations of God. This wouldn't have happened if angels also looked like God.
