- -note: you'll want 3000 coins once you get to Toad Town. You get 1070 from bosses, 600 from jump challenge, and 960 from mushroom balls. So you need to find 370 on your way. You can get some coins right before Fawful gets the Dark Star, but they're not exactly on the way.
- *Mario
- -Bowser battle: OK on 1st jump, Excellent on the rest (1 single jump, 7 double jumps)
- -1st tutorial: 2 counters, 1 Excellent
- -2nd tutorial: Mario OK on one enemy; counter both; Luigi OK on the other enemy; Mario fails jump command; kill with counter
- -be sure to get at least the ? block after the 1st attack piece; it has syrups
- -next part, get lower right attack piece by leaving Luigi on the lowest floor
- -4th tutorial: don't kill any before Starlow talks about countering; don't need to get Excellent as far as I remember; Great should give the same damage
- -next part (last), get last ? block too
- *Bowser
- -tutorial: use an OK punch when you have control of it (1st punch is forced to be Excellent)
- -get drumsticks on your way, to be able to get fury later
- -vacuum tutorial: don't counter his rush attack; 4 Excellent shoud defeat him (158HP; 35 damage from Great, 40 from Excellent)
- -get +5 bonus pow for Mario/Luigi
- -I couldn't get fury against Sea Pipe Statue easily, but might be faster
- -Green Shells for damage with M/L; if stalling for more turns inside Bowser, use Excellent Hammer (remember that the Blooper will go out on its own after a few turns (4?) and won't be vulnerable for Bowser)
- -+5 in pow and def (to be able to receive 1 more hit in Wiggler fight); pure pow may work as well
- *M/L
- -drain water at the start to avoid enemies easier
- -don't collect the attack pieces, Fire Flower sucks
- -for the spiky enemy, you can walk to the middle of the path and change to Bowser. For some reason, it will only walk fast to the left, not to the right, so to avoid on the way back, fill with water and use a well-timed jump
- -after you find toadsworth and save, fill with water to avoid the enemies easier
- -next part, bomb goes to the left
- -on the way back, one room before you put the stingler, there's a fighter wear that gives +5 pow, but IIRC it doesn't help on the next fight. If it does, then it might be worth getting it
- -Scutlet: 280 HP. Each attack does 2 damage (except Mario's jump counter), don't know about hammer (4?). Shouldn't be hard to count the damage dealt
- -+4 and +3 on pow for Mario, +3 for Luigi; all next level ups goes to pow, max is +3 each
- *Bowser
- -Broggy: 198 HP; OK - 42; Great - 50 damage; Excellent: 58. Get a Great with fire to make Broggy turn back
- -1st Wiggler statue: 1, 3, 2, 4
- -the part where you need to break a bunch of blocks: you don't need to break all of them; you can slip through the north part of some of the blocks
- -you must get Goombas
- -2nd Wiggler statue: 4, 1, 3, 2
- -Approach the carrot from the north, or Bowser will do a little stop in some parts
- -Wiggler: 540 HP; Great - 30?; Excellent - 35. Leaf Guy: 56 HP.
- This fight is very random, so not very easy to get fury. You should aim to use at least 3 Goombas with fury. Also, absorbing Leaf Guys at least once seems to give enough exp to lv up Bowser one more time. +4, +3, +3 in pow for Bowser (all the next lv ups are +3 on pow)
- *Mario
- -recover SP and maybe buy some syrups (I had 3 and bought 1; used 1 in this fight and 3 against Midbus)
- -Durmite: 326 HP. Green Shell, and destroy the straw with Excellent jumps. Ignore the white enemies (kill with counters). Try getting POW Gloves.
- *Bowser
- -not much to say about the giant battle. Punch when you can, fire when necessary.
- -Bowser Path: after the 1st roling things, go southeast to get Power Band. Equip it and POW Gloves.
- -Bowser Castle: talk to 11 "people" to open the door. Talk to the koopa or dry bones next to the door last to make the camera move less (maybe talking to the Boo south of the door is faster?)
- -Midbus: 950 HP. Get hit by the chain ball while Midbus is spinning it; a meat may be thrown (chances are high), which increases pow. You can get dizzy though, so it's not very safe for a RTA.
- Besides that, just use Shy Guys and syrups to recover SP. Getting fury is very hard in this battle.
- *M/L
- -recover SP
- -get the attack piece right at the start of 2nd part
- -badge tutorial: don't kill either until you fill the badge meter and Starlow explains about it; shouldn't be a problem defeating them with jumps only
- -next part: get upper pipe, then hit the ? block to get 4 attack pieces at once
- -lower pipe, lower pipe, then 4 more attack pieces
- -green pipe; learn spin jump
- -go to the left, get last attack piece
- -now, save somewhere; I saved on the last room (just fall into that flab to go back faster), but the save before boss might be faster
- -after that, go back to the entrance, then go to the Challenge Node, Cholesteroad, Juuuuump Mode, and get A rank.
- -after it saves, reset; you should have the Daredevil Boots and coins saved, but the position of the last save block
- -on the room after the one you learn the spin jump, it's easier to reveal the blocks if you keep Mario over Luigi
- -in the room before the last save block, there's a supersyrup (and a star candy maybe?); there's one left of the save block as well
- -Equip Mario with Daredevil Boots
- -Alpha Kretin: 20HP; Beta Kretin: 385 HP
- Alpha Kretins should be killed with jumps; Beta can be hit 4 times before transforming in Alpha again.
- 1 Jump Helmet with 5 jumps gives 94 damage. This means you must have at least 1 lucky hit OR 1 Jump Helmet with 6 jumps (104 damage?). For SS, maybe an extra level up may be useful
