Touhou Creepypasta

So, I honestly dont know how to tell this story. Neither am I sure if you all are able to believe it. I myself dont know. I would provide screencaps if possible, but the file had already been corrupted at this point and thus dubbed inactive. I dont plan on fixing that corrupted game file regardless. So anyways, here's the story.

There's an anime imports store around the area I live in and I was bored so I checked a few of their merchendise out. Nothing really caught my interest, until I saw one. A copy of Touhou 12 UFO.

Of course, plenty of people online have downloaded the game as opposed to actually buying the disk. But hey, I was bored. I had enough extra cash with me and I've recently started using a new PC so why not just use a disk. So thus I purchased it in the end. I asked the owner where he had recieved the copy. He informed me that somebody had just mailed it to him. I didn't really know what he meant, so I just played a long.

I even went as far as cracking up a joke on my head, "Pffft, yeeeaaaah and next thing I know, this disc is filled with those goofy creepypasta I read online, hahaha." I really wish I had just been kidding after what I finished playing.

So, it was settled. As soon as I came home, I had some freetime, so I popped the disk into the hard drive and installed it as usual. However, something sort of made me think. The disk itself didn't have any of the game's charas or ZUN's art printed, let alone possess a guide book or booklet. It was just a white disk, with "LOTUS SAINT" written with pen.

I thought, "People and their goofy ass creepypasta. Well whatever I'm sure this will just sport the usual mumbo jumbo text." And finally, I started playing.

A few things I noticed right away. When the loading screen came up, instead of the usual "Shanghai Alice" mark popping out, it just said "Keep flying, dont return. Keep going." I just thought this was some shitty ass danmakufu bootleg and just again, played along. The title screen showed up and this time, something caught my attention. The menu was the same...but Reimu riding her treasure boat was nowhere to be found.

Instead, all I am greeted with is a black UFO, with red japanese text all over it as if was just messy handwriting. I had no knowledge of japanese so I had no idea, neither did I bother to try translating. So I went to character select. Again, something odd. Only Reimu was playable. many of you are aware that Sanae and Marisa are also playables in UFO...yet the option only gave me Reimu. It didn't bother me so I played on.

Going through first stage...I noticed some wierd bizarre look in the stage. It was slightly dimmer than the original. And I know my computer's lighting or screen had nothing to do with it...it was just...dim. I also noticed stage 1's theme was playing a tad bit slower yet also at a higher pitch and the enemies were moving much slower and the danmaku...was literally nearly motionless.

I assumed at first this was a glitch with the game speed like some people had...but...it still said 60 fps. I wasn't scared though. I just laughed it off.

But something happened after. Nazrin showed up on screen. Now, at this point I thought she showed up too early. Normally she appeared a bit more into the middle of the stage...but she literally appeared after I got my first Red UFO combo...There was no dialogue either. And there was no boss-health-bar too. She just stayed on top of the screen firing her danmaku, even until I realized I was reaching the end of the stage before the sequence where the boss normally began. I also took note that Nazrin's danmaku fired at a morbidly slow yet eerie rate yet her sprite movements were faster even than Byakuren's in one of her last spell cards.


The stage went on for another 5 minutes...it was getting tiring. Something made me flinch after. It was a split second. But I saw what I saw clearly. In one blink, Nazrin's portrait appeared...but it was grotesque. Her skin was entirely pale green, she wasn't smiling, neither was she growing. She had an arm missing and her tail was decimated. Her left red eye just starred at me like an abyss from below. It startled me to so to say.

The screen went pitch black and next thing I knew...I was in Murasa's stage. I just thought, "Okay people really love their creepy hacks dont they?" I just thought this in order to calm myself down. Only this time, when the stage began playing, stage 4's theme...was more deeper than usual. If not deeper, even much slower and eerier...it felt like funeral music or some sort of burial march. It didn't faze me much, but the eeriest thing : There weren't any enemies...no danmaku and even Nue didn't appear.

In the middle of the stage where Nue normally appeared, a dialogue event came up, this time portraying reimu's portrait. I wish I hadn't seen it. It wasn't frightening. I mean ZUN is normally known for his crappy art...but this...her face was literally...faceless. No eyes, no mouth, no nose like normally...and the only text that appeared was "ALA323255678999-3-0=+----.....DGFDHFGsdsdhgtjykuk.....DDFJKIYRTVDGFHJGJYERTERER.....hIIIIAssss
sadsorrowA677$3@@@77777" and the stage wasn't over at this point. Finally, Murasa's sprite showed up on screen...when her sprite appeared, I couldn't even comment.

Her eyes were completely pitch black, save a little red dot around her. She was missing her arms and her legs...her skin was pale blue and blood slowly dripped down from reimu's faceless portrait. Finally, a twisted and rapidly disorted version of "Captain Murasa" began screeching through my PC's speakers until the stage went static. Not before Murasa's dialogue spelled out :: "HIJIRI HIJIRI HIJIRI PLEASESAVEUSPLEASEINEEDYOUIMSCAREDIMHUNGRYIMHUNGRYWHYISSHEHEREIMLONELYPLEASECOMEILLBEWAITING". and the stage screen went pitch black. I knew something was wrong...I just thought it was some english danmakufu hack...or at least until I reached stage 6.

It skipped stage 5...and just headed to stage 6. Without any prperation...a disorted, backwards version of Cosmic Mind began roaring through the speakers, mixed with the deep and frightening rumblings of stage 1 and stage 4's themes....no enemies showed up like in the previous stage. But every now and then Reimu's faceless sprite would appear. Saying phrases like, "....youkai..." or "I'm alone." or "HOPELESS."......after what seemed like 20 minutes of wandering the stage with this eerie arrangement of Cosmic Mind. The screen of the stage went pitch black for a few seconds.

I thought, "Is it over?" Next second, the sounds of what seemed like screams and disorted cries rang in my speakers but not until the window opened to full screen, and eventually featuring a fullscreen sprite of Hijiri's face zoomed in. It wasn't a sight anybody wanted. Byakuren's eyes...were literally black holes. No signs of pupil anywhere, she wasn't sporting her usual cheerful and confident smile. Just this time, a monotone expression on her face with tears of blood streaming down. The sounds of screaming mixed with the disorted theme went on for what seemed like 10 minutes. No matter how I closed the monitor or restarted the PC, the results would be the same.

It stopped however...but before it did, a text of white font appeared on the full black screen "ALONE".

Afterwards it went back to my desktop's screen...I checked again...everything was in tact...but the UFO file was corrupted and unable to operate.

I could care less...in a heartbeat, I snapped the game disk in half and just tried forgetting this all happened.

Whether it wasa hack, a prank or some modified game to serve as a joke, needless to say...I wasn't going to get anything shady from bootleg stores anymore.
