>WHAT'S THIS GAME ABOUT?
If you've played Harvest Moon before then you already know because it's pretty much the same with the exception being a simple combat that has been added.
If you haven't, you inherit a farm and do the usual things you do at a farm: grow crops, raise animals, fish, go through the mine and battle monsters, romance girls in the town, get married and have kids, process materials to craft more equipment, etc.

>SHOULD I BUY THIS GAME?
Pirate it. Play at least 5-10 hours and then decide for yourself.

>CAN I PLAY IT ON LINUX?

Steam gets the updates early but gets a bigger cut of the sales.

>WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I START?
First go to the options menu and turn auto run on.
Do what you've been instructed to, raise crops you get from the mayor. Clean space in your farm. Go meet everyone in town to get a sense of the layout and where everyone lives and what they do.
Get 50 wood and make a chest, you are gonna need it since your inventory is really limited at the start.

>WHERE IS <INSERT LOCATION HERE>?
Go around town and look for yourself, the map isn't huge and you'll be able to see everything yourself + finish that quest where you need to greet everyone.
Or if you're looking for a specific later-game location, go to the spoilers section.
Until you get to a location on the map, the tooltip for it will only show "???" when checked in the game's map. Once you get to it, it'll update along with the working hours if it's a store. If it's a house, it will also list all the residents living there.

>WHERE IS <INSERT PERSON HERE> AT <INSERT TIME OF DAY HERE>?
You should find out for yourself.

>WAIFUS/HUSBANDOS?
There are currently 5 bachelorettes and 5 bachelores. (2 new to be added in the next update, Emily and Shane.)
Females: Abigail, Haley, Leah, Maru, Penny.
Males: Alex, Elliott, Harvey, Sam, Sebastian.

>WHICH WAIFU/HUSBANDO SHOULD I GO FOR?
Fucking decide for yourself. You should interact and get hearth events with all of them so you can know them better instead of jumping on the first one you see.

>THE FUCKING SON OF ROBIN WON'T COME OUT OF HIS ROOM
His name is Sebastian, he's a fucking NEET, what did you expect? Just wait for him to come out, usually at 3pm or 5pm, it depends on the day.

No.

>WHAT DO THE GOLD AND SILVER STARS NEXT TO MY CROPS/ITEMS MEAN?
It means that that item is worth more than a non-star one, gold-starred items are worth the most, however this does not make any difference in making artisan goods and using the furnace.

>WHY DID ALL MY CROPS SUDDENLY DIE?
Most crops die at the change of season, so your parsnips died because summer has started and they can't grow during summer. Time to visit the shop and buy new seeds.

>HOW DO I LEVEL UP MY SKILLS?
Farming - Harvesting crops.
Mining - Mining rocks and ores.
Foraging - Cutting trees and picking up wild forage.
Fishing - Fishing and harvesting from crab pots.
Combat - Killing enemies.

>HOW DO I RAISE AFFECTION WITH PEOPLE / GET MORE HEARTS
You talk to them or you can gift things to people 2 times a week. How much affection you gain depends on what you gave them and how much they like it.
Currently, there's 5 levels of liking/disliking an item: Love, like, neutral, dislike, hate.
There are certain universal items for each level which should give the same results regardless of who you give it to, so don't gift some ancient fucking scroll to someone just because they like reading books, they'll hate it and you'll lose affection.

>WHAT DOES X PERSON LIKE MOST?
Talk to him/her or their family, they will sometimes tell you what they like/dislike.

>I WANT TO MAKE ONE OF THOSE COMFY BIG FARMS
Read the OP and check the farm planner, if you don't like that just build your farm little by little until you are comfortable with it, you can also demolish buildings (Robin's construction menu) if you fuck up a placement/don't like where your building is located.

>HOW DO I CHANGE MY CLOTHES?

Crafting recipes can be gained through leveling up a skill or purchasing them at the different stores.
All recipes for equipment are gained through leveling up a skill, so if you want that mayo machine you better go level up your farming.

>WHAT ARE SCARECROWS FOR?
What do you think? They're used to keep crows away. Put them near your crops or the crows will eat them.
The range of the scarecrow is a RADIUS OF 8 TILES.

In short: Spring-> Cauliflower, Summer-> Blueberry, Fall-> Cranberry, Winter-> Forage from wild winter seeds

>I NEED CLAY
Dig dirt and spots with worms sticking out of the ground frequently give clay. Also you can get it from geodes.

>I NEED STONE
Go to the first level of the mines and look for the big rocks,they drop 10 stone and they take 8 swings of the basic pick.

>I NEED WOOD
After you chop a tree they will drop a seed that you can plan in your farm, trees will take a while to grow.
You can also buy it from Robin's store.

>HOW DO I GET BUILDINGS?
Go to Robin's shop.

>WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE DESTROYED BUILDING IN MY FARM?
That's the greenhouse, it will unlock if you complete a certain bundle from the Community Center.

>HOW DO I GET ANIMALS?
Go to Marnie's shop.

>HOW DO I FEED MY ANIMALS?
They only eat Hay or the grass around your farm, you can buy Hay from Marnie's and place it inside the empty spaces inside the building.

>I'M TOO LAZY TO FEED THEM EVERYDAY
You will have to upgrade your Coop/Barn to Deluxe, they come with auto feeders.

>WHERE DO I STORE ALL THE HAY?
You will have to build a Silo and store the Hay you bought in the feeder inside a Coop/Barn.
They have a capacity of 240 pieces of Hay.

>ANIMALS WILL EAT MY CROPS IF I LET THEM ROAM AROUND THE FARM?
No they won't, they only eat Hay and grass.

>HOW DO I MILK MY COWS OR SHEAR MY SHEEPS?
Go to Marnie's shop and buy the tools.

>HOW DO I GET HEARTHS WITH MY ANIMALS?
Make sure they eat and pet them everyday (right click them)
Fuck that shit just fucking focus on farming.

>HOW DO I KILL MY ANIMALS/GET MEAT?
You can't, it's the current year and fuck my life.
Mods will fix it :^)

>HOW DO I GET SOME OF THESE GRAYED OUT ANIMALS?
You upgrade your building.
Chickens - Coop
Ducks - Big Coop
Rabbits - Deluxe Coop
Cows - Barn
Goats - Big Barn
Sheeps - Deluxe Barn
Pigs - Deluxe Barn

>I MADE FENCES BUT THEY SUDDENLY DISAPPEARED/ARE BROKEN
Fences have durability, they have 3 states: Fresh (will drop itself as item after demolishing)
Normal (will not drop itself as item after demolishing)
Damaged (similar to normal, but looked broken)
Fences will be completely broken (missing) after damaged state are over. This means that you will have to repair them (select wood in your inventory and place it on the broken fences) or put new ones (if you are married your spouse/husband will fix them for you)
Wood fence last 23 to 33 Days - Stone fence last 55 to 66 Days - Iron fence last 120 to 132 days - Hardwood fence last 260 to 300 Days.

>HOW DO I GET ACCESS TO THE SEWERS?
Donate a certain number of Artifacts/Minerals to the Museum.

>HOW DO I GET A HORSE
Build a stable.

>DO I NEED TO FEED MY PET?
No, they're useless.

>WHAT DO I USE ALL THESE MINERALS FOR?
Some minerals can be used in crafting. Other than that, gems can make a great gift or be sold.
You can also donate the minerals you found for the first time to the museum. I suggest you do that because by donating to the museum you unlock rewards, and most mineral are pretty much useless.

>WHERE DO I GET <INSERT ORE HERE>?
Copper - Levels 1+ in the mine.
Iron - Levels 40+ in the mine.
Gold - Levels 80+ in the mine.
Iridium - Check spoiler section.

>WHERE DO I GET <INSERT GEODE HERE>?
Regular Geodes - Levels 1-39
Frozen Geodes - Level 31-79
Magma Geodes - Level 81-89
Omni Geodes - The deeper you are in the mines the better chance you have to get it.

>WHERE DO I GET QUARTZ/EARTH CRYSTAL/FIRE QUARTZ
Quartz and Earth Crystal are in the early levels in the mines.
Fire Quartz in level 80+.

>WHERE DO I GET COAL?
-Kill Dust Sprites in the mine levels 40+.
-Get a charcoal kiln and burn wood.
-Buy it from the blacksmith.

>HOW DO I COOK?
You need to upgrade your house. Go to Robin's, upgrade your house and a kitchen will be added where you can cook recipes you've learned.

>WHERE DO I LEARN MORE RECIPES?
Watch the cooking channel on TV (not available every day).
Becoming friends with various people will also provide you with new recipes they send you through mail.

>WHAT IS THE SPA FOR?
You can regenerate your energy by going to the spa.

>I SAW A WAGON/TRAVELLING CART IN THE FOREST
That's Gypsy, she will appear all the Fridays and Sundays and sells really good items that you will need for the Community Center. She also sells furniture.

>SHOULD I MAKE LVL 1 SPRINKLERS?
No, the regular sprinklers you first get are mostly not worth it due to the area they cover(4 tiles).
Level up your farming and save the materials until you unlock the quality sprinklers.

>HOW DO I GET / WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS GIANT MELON/CAULIFLOWER/PUMPKIN THAT APPEARED AMONGST MY CROPS?
They only have a chance to grow if you have a 3x3 square of the same crops growing together.
Hit it with your Axe, you will receive 9+ of the target crop.

>WHAT DO I DO WITH BAIT / HOW DO I ATTACH BAIT TO A FISHING POLE?
Willy will sell you better rods after you level up you fishing skill, you can put bait to these.
Left click the bait to select it and then right click on you pole.

>I CHOSE THE WRONG PROFESSION, CAN I CHANGE IT?
Yes.
First, go to %appdata% -> Stardew Valley -> Saves -> enter your profile folder(profilename_number) and backup those files just in case.
Next, open the file that has your character name and some number in it's name with notepad++.
Press CTRL+F, search for "professions" until you find a line that looks like this "<professions><int>7</int></professions>".
Depending on how many professions you already took, there will be several numbers written here inside <int></int> tags.
Those numbers correspond to a specific profession, here's a list of all of them:
Farming
0 = Rancher
1 = Tiller
2 = Coopmaster
3 = Shepherd
4 = Artisan
5 = Agriculturist
Fishing
6 = Fisher
7 = Trapper
8 = Angler
9 = Pirate
10 = Mariner
11 = Luremaster

So, for example if you chose the Agriculturist perk, but wanted the Artisan one instead, change the number 5 to 4.

>IF I GIVE MY TOOL TO BLACKSMITH FOR UPGRADE, WILL I LOSE IT FOR SOME TIME?
Yes, the blacksmith will take your tool for 2 days(the current day + tomorrow, so you can pick it up the day after tomorrow).
Keep this in mind if you're planning to upgrade your watering can. It's recommended to check the weather channel every day until the forecast for the next day is rain (in very rare occasions the forecast is wrong, keep this in mind). Then, water your crops, take the can to the blacksmith for upgrade. The next day it'll rain and you won't need the watering can. The day after that you can go pick up your watering can and continue to water your crops.

>HOW DO I GET FILTHY RICH?/HOW DO I BECOME A DEMON?
Get Ancient Seed, put them in the Seed maker, plant them in the Greenhouse.
Make a Deluxe Barn, fill it with Kegs and make Ancient Wine.

Fishing minigame is really easy, you can get 200+ stars per game if you play it perfect.
Always bet Green on the Wheel.
Don't even bother with the Slingshot minigame.
As for Pierre what really counts in the contest is quality and variety, bring fish, minerals and crops from other seasons,
it's better if they all have golden stars.

>FEAST OF THE WINTERSTAR
This works like a secret santa.
A week before the event you will get a letter from Lewis telling you who your secret santa is, so you will have time to get the item they love/like. If you give a good gift your secret santa will also give you a valuable item.

It unlocked a new location north of Robin's house, the railroad and the spa.

Pretty much nothing. If you are present when it's passing, it can drop items such as coal, wood and geodes.
Other than that, it's useless.

>WHERE'S LINUS'S BASKET
Go to the bus and head left, there's another screen which leads to the tunnel. The basket is outside the tunnel.

>WHERE ARE MAYOR'S PANTS
In Marnie's room.

>WHAT DO THESE STATUES WITH DIFFERENT COLORS DO?
You sure were thinking that they were part of a secret or a interesting quest but NO.
They are warp points, you spawn at when you use a warp totem.

>HOW DO I DATE PEOPLE?
You need to get them to 8 hearths, after that Pierre the Jew will send you a letter telling you that he sells a Bouquet wich you can give to your love interest. After you give it to him/her you can get the final hearth event.

>CAN I DATE MORE THAN ONE PERSON?
Yes and it will not affect your relationship with the other person that you gave the bouquet.
You can date all of them.

>HOW DO I GET MARRIED?
After you give the bouquet to your love interest go to the beach on a rainy day (not in winter) and look for the Old Mariner, you can buy the Mermaid's Pendant for 5.000g, You need at least the first house upgrade.
After that just give the Pendant to your love interest and they will accept the proposal, the ceremony takes place 3 days after proposing (If you care about festivals/birthdays check the calendar so you don't get married at the same date).

>HOW DO I GET CHILDREN?
You need to buy the last house upgrade, been married for 7 days and maintain 10 hearths with your wife/husband.
She/He will ask you if you want a baby.

>WHAT DO I DO WITH ANCIENT SEED?
The first time you find an ancient seed, you need to donate it to the museum so you can get the recipe for crafting ancient seeds(which are used for planting).
Ancient seeds can grow in any season except winter. You can't eat them or use them in cooking, but you can turn them into wine or jam.
Since the ancient fruit keeps giving fruit after harvesting, it is also recommended that you turn some of the fruits into more seeds so you can plant more of them later on or plant them in the greenhouse.

>WHAT DO I DO WITH THE DINOSAUR EGG?
Put it into the incubator you got from upgrading your coop. You can raise your own dinosaur who will produce more dinosaur eggs.

>HOW DO I GET MORE HARDWOOD?
There is a renewable source of hardwood in the hidden forest, north of the wizard's tower, you get always 12 everyday.
One of the Level 10 foraging professions grants a chance for normal trees to sometimes produce hardwood, as long as you take the "Forester" profession first.

>WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY CENTER FOR?
Community center is used for unlocking new areas/features/buildings/rewards by completing bundles.
Completing a bundle will earn you an instant reward, such as seeds, equipment, food and such. Completing all the bundles in a room(for example, Pantry) will unlock the big reward that's written underneath the bundle screen(in the case of Pantry - "Reward: Greenhouse").
Also some people will go there different times a week, Clint will always go on Fridays.

>DO I NEED TO DO THE COMMUNITY CENTER?
If you want all the rewards that it gives, yes. You can also get a Joja membership which will eventually turn the community center into a warehouse and let you buy all those bundle rewards with cash. This of course leads to the bad end.
Completing the community center or going the Joja route progresses the story.

>HOW DEEP DOES THE MINE GO?
The regular mine goes to level 120.
The skull mine goes on forever.

>WHAT DO I DO WITH THE SKULL KEY?
You open the door to the skull mine and unlock the Junimo Kart game in The Stardrop Saloon.

>HOW DO I GET TO THE SKULL MINE?
You fix the bus and go to the Calico Desert.

>HOW DO I FIX THE BUS?
By completing the community center bundles.

>WHERE DO I GET IRIDIUM ORE?
Iridium is rare and can sometimes be found as a mob drop in the regular mine or be mined from an ore deposit (iridium node) in the skull mine, you can also found these in the Quarry.
It can also be obtained from a geode (Omni and Magma).
The meteorite that drops on your farm drops iridium when mined.

>HOW DO I CHANGE MY CLOTHES
You need to get 4 hearths with the wizard, then you will gain access to the basement in his tower, there you can change you character's appearance (you can't change your sex), this cost 500 gold.

Obtained from the treasure chest on floor 100 in The Mines.
Randomly received from your spouse when friendship level is at 13/12 hearts.
Sold by Krobus for 20,000g in the Sewers.
Obtained from Old Master Cannoli, in the Secret Woods, after giving him a Sweet Gem Berry.
Received in a letter from Willy after attaining the Master Angler Achievement (Catch all the fish).
Reward for attaining the achievement A Complete Collection (donating all 95 items to the Museum).
