  6. Snowflakes melted against your warm face as you walked through the fresh snow, side by side with your werewolf girl. Her deceptively dainty, but nevertheless clawed fingers interlocked with yours as you walked below the tops of the trees. Her hands were warmer than yours, a comforting fact while out in the freezing Christmas Eve snow. She took your arm and draped it over her shoulder, and you pulled her close, feeling her warmth penetrate your jacket. She pressed her cheek against your ribs like an affectionate cat. Her big, luminous eyes looked up at you, her pupils opened wide in the low light, sending a smile across your face. You scratched her neck in the spot that she likes and she shut her eyes and took in a deep inhale of the chilly winter air. One of her ears twitched, and her head sprung up, looking off into the dark treeline at some sound that you didn’t here. She stayed completely still for a moment, her ears straight up, her eyes wide open, face stone-like and neutral. Her ears slowly folded down and she turned back to you, chuckling bashfully. She must’ve thought she heard a deer or something, but she gets embarrassed when she mistakes a sound for something it’s not. You pulled her close and rubbed her arm as you both continued forward, off to your little romantic spot.

  8. Winnie stood at your side, resting her head against your ribcage, as she was too short to rest it on your shoulder. It was dark, and the snow was thick. It was a full moon tonight, but it was concealed behind the clouds. A cold wind blew through you, but you still felt warm. Winnie was like a fire next to you, emanating her loving heat. She was a bastion of warmth in this cold forest. But, she left your side.
  9. She walked away from you stretching her arms over her head, arching her back, and yawning. She glanced back at you and smiled. You smiled back and turned back to the water in front of you. The two of you had shared many moments together at this little pond, tucked into the woods. It was usually much more spectacular, the break in the trees perfectly framing the moon and the stars at night. But now, that was all covered up. The pond was dark and grim. You had hoped it would look nicer. You wanted to impress Winnie on your first Christmas Eve with her. You sighed, a billow of your breath puffing out in front of your face. And suddenly, you were struck by something soft and cold.
  10. A loosely packed ball of snow exploded against your shoulder. You turned to its source, and there Winnie stood, arms full of snowballs, devilish grin on her face. She stepped towards you, unloading her icy arsenal. You rose your arms to shield your face, cold snow bursting onto you with every snowball. When it seemed the onslaught had ended, you lowered your arms, only to the sight of Winnie approaching. She jumped up into your arms, and wrapped her legs around your waist. You bent your knees and steadied yourself, but she wasn’t heavy. Her yellow, glowing gaze flooded into your head, and she smiled, the tips of her fangs poking out. “Beep beep.” You glanced at your watch.
  11. “Hey, look at that.” you said. “Twelve o’clock. Merry Christmas.”
  12. “Merry Christmas.” she said before she leaned her head in, and touched her lips to yours.
