It's true though. Generally, if a women wishes to engage in a sexual relationship or have a one night stand, all she has to do is find a man she finds attractive and ask. Most of the time, she'll get a favorable response, barring the male in question being attracted to men or having a girlfriend or not wishing to have sex at this time (but generally the man saying no would be a rare occurance in this day and age).

Generally, if a man wishes to engage in a sexual relationship or one night stand then he has to meet many standards before he has a chance. He generally has to be attractive, engage in a sufficient amount of flirting, buying drinks and generally being (though I shudder to use the term) an alpha male.

Ergo, a man has to work far harder these days in order to get sex. Not to mention that it's far more dangerous for the man, assuming sufficient sexual protection is used. Women have the power to destroy a man if they decide that they regretted the previous sexual interaction despite it being consensual. One rape accusation and a mans life is pretty much ruined.


The word slut carries a negative connotation behind it because it indicates a woman of loose morals and insufficient self control to avoid getting into sexual situations. Therefore it is a bad thing. It is not something to be celebrated and admired. Sexual liberation is all well and good but you cannot have it both ways. Female virginity is valued and respected because shows strength of morals a willingness to save oneself for marriage. Male virginity is oft reviled and made fun of, for a male who cannot lose his virginity is perceived as having something wrong with him.

The opposite is also true for both parties. A female who sleeps around is seen as possessing loose morals and there is often an underlying current of mistrust because if she will willingly have sex with multiple people before the current male, how can that male be certain that they will be faithful? Men on the other hand are lauded for their achievements in promiscuity because of the natural difficulty spike that men have for getting sex. A male who has many notches on their belt is obviously doing something right, ergo he is valuable. Do note that I'm speaking in generalities though and not saying that this is 100% how it is with everyone.

Men generally have preferences for virgins because they are generally seen as a safe investment. They're generally seen as being more trustworthy in relationships because they don't trade sexual favors away willy nilly.

Women generally have preferences for men who have been promiscuous in the past because the men in question have been validated by other women in the past. This prior validation is very important because it shows that the man in question is a good investment.


Men are usually the losers when a long term relationship ends. Women don't normally face the threat of losing their possessions, house and the majority of their income to the man if things go belly up. So logically speaking, it should be understandable as to why not being a slut would be a benefit for any long term relationship because it generally lowers the chance of things going wrong.

Of course it's not a certainty because people are not all the same. I.E., people are not all equal.
