  1. John Sweeney, better known as "Scrumpmonkey", is a writer for SuperNerdLand. He is also a malicious liar who repeatedly smears my name. While this matter is personal, it is also a matter requiring redress. Keep this disclaimer in mind when reading this.
  2.
  3. Firstly, I have documented his insinuations that I run an SEO scam in this article here: https://archive.is/vml8E
  4.
  5. He later tried to spin the article as me going after him after he "asked one too many questions". To his credit, he did link the article which shows this to be nonsensical: https://archive.is/blKrQ
  6.
  7. Since then he claims I threatened to sue him for him calling me a "bad panda", a nickname I had already adopted: https://archive.is/hDtY6#selection-1605.1-1605.63
  8.
  9. Then, of course, these smears against my character which I am not addressed to defend myself:
  10. https://archive.is/VmDEh
  11. https://archive.is/gfDlf
  12. https://archive.is/bczyv
  13.
  14. What he does bring before me when he bothers to engage is a combination of sophistry and ridicule:
  15. https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=jkellytwit%20from%3Ascrumpmonkey&src=typd&lang=en
  16.
  17. According to SuperNerdLand's ethics policy 1-6, 1-7, and 1-9:
  18.
  19. "(6) To assure accuracy, press releases and material from other sources should be substantiated. Secondhand information, such as rumors published by a competing publication, should not be presented as fact.
  20.
  21. (7) Factual errors should be corrected promptly and prominently.
  22.
  23. (9) Social media is not a refuge from the expectations of exemplary conduct. Content producers should take the golden rule into consideration here. β€œOne should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.”"
  24. https://supernerdland.com/code-ethics/
  25.
  26. His defense is the following:
  27.
  28. "I treat John Kelly exactly how he treats others and he hates it. Telling really."
  29. https://archive.is/ZnnYb#selection-8551.1-8551.81
  30.
  31. Ignoring this does not get around violating 1-6 and 1-7 through social media, I do not lie about people and criticism I have for others I bring directly to their attention.
  32.
  33. This situation is not helped when writer for SuperNerdLand Darrell Hinkle classifies my grievances as "abusing the invocation of ethics": https://archive.is/oPL06
  34.
  35. I desire no sympathy from anyone reading this piece. What you the reader should take away from this is whether or not you can trust SuperNerdLand as an enthusiast press outlet claiming to be ethical.
