- Crysis 2 Key Mapping - Guide by A9821
- BACKUP YOUR gamedata.pak FILE BEFORE DOING THE FOLLOWING!
- Use IZarc to open gamedata.pak
- Open the libs folder, open config, and extract the defaultProfile.xml file to the default folder.
- Open the file using notepad and you'll see a bunch of stuff.
- Basically you need to look at the keymapping of a certain function you want to change in game and then use the find function in notpad to search for it in the xml file.
- Fore example, I wanted to change gun customization from x to c. So I searched "x" in the xml file and got a few hits. Remember to always check what the actionmap is controlling. It'll be a little above the letter we searched. I change this "x" to "c" and then continued to look for other keymappings I wanted to change.
- You should stay away from editing vehicle controls.
- Once you're done editing the file, save it.
- Go back to the .pak file open in IZarc and delete the original defaultProfile.xml.
- Click on Add at the top of the program. Double click on the Gamedata folder that is in the Crysis2Game folder.
- Highlight the Libs folder. Now click on the options tab.Uncheck read only and check off Include sub folders.
- Click add.
- Go back to the Config folder in IZarc and verify that the defaultProfile.xml file is there. If it isn't you must have missed a step. Try again.
- That should be it, run Crysis 2 and go to controls to see if it worked. It should.
- Enjoy!
