 Dia: …Hey.
Vel: Munch munch… gulp! …Did you need something from me?
Dia: Did I n-… Did you just eat those?
Vel: I did. You dropped them, so…
Dia: Well, I mean, if I’ve dropped them, you shouldn’t eat them…
Vel: Please don’t talk to me like I’m some kind of thief. I won’t just eat anything that hasn’t fallen onto the ground…
Dia: No, no, that’s not it… I mean you shouldn’t eat things that are on the ground because they’re dirty.
Vel: Don’t worry, they weren’t on the ground for very long, so they’re safe.
Dia: No, I don’t think it works like that…
Vel: You’re so finicky. It’s annoying.
Dia: No… It’s because you ate something I dropped…
Vel: Then should I have taken them right out of your hands and eaten them?
Dia: No, it’s not like I made them for you.
Vel: First you tell me not to eat stuff that’s fallen on the ground, and now you’re telling me I can’t even eat things off of plates? You… You’re a demon. You’re way different than my kind, wonderful Papa…
Dia: Wait, what does your father have to do with any of this…?
Vel: Whatever, it’s fine. I’m going to go now… Sniff sniff. I wonder if there’s anything to eat…
Dia: ...Maybe I should have given her a cookie after all.

Velour: Sniff sniff… sniff sniff sniff…
Dia: …Hm? It’s Velour…
Vel: Take that.
Dia: D-Don’t push me all of the sudden like that…
Vel: I was wondering if you would fall.  …You’re trying to hide the cookies you’re carrying, aren’t you? I can smell them.
Dia: I do have some with me, but I’m not trying to hide them…
Vel: And that!
Dia: I thought I told you not to push me.
Vel: But if I take things that haven’t fallen on the ground, then I’ll be a thief…
Dia: You don’t have to push me, I can just give you one.
Vel: Huh?
Dia: I made some for you too. They’re right out of the oven, so they’ll probably be way better than the ones I dropped.
Vel: Gimme! Hamph! Munch munch munch… They’re delicious.
Dia: Oh, your tail is wagging… I’m glad you like them.
Vel: Thank you. You’re a good person.
Dia: I wouldn’t want you to eat more things off of the ground… I wanted you to eat things that were properly cooked.
Vel: I wonder what I should do as thanks?
Dia: You don’t have to do anything, I’m happy as long as you liked them.
Vel: No, no, I need to. Maybe that… What about a teacup? I have a very nice one from my stash of treasures.
Dia: I appreciate the thought, but I can’t accept something that nice…
Vel: Wait right here. I’m going to go get it.
Dia:  I don’t know about this…
Vel: I brought it!
Dia: Wow, that was fast.
Vel: This is a wonderful teacup! It’s broken, yet so artistic!
Dia: ...It’s broken?
Vel: Yes. As you can see, there’s a round hole in the bottom, and the handle is chipped. I’ve never laid eyes on anything as beautifully broken as this…
Dia: …Well, since it’s the thought that counts… I’ll take it.

Dia: Velour, do you have a minute?
Velour: Dia? Yes, I don’t mind.
Dia: I just made some tea… Would you like to drink it together?
Vel: I’m glad that you would invite me to, and I will.
Dia: Here, it’s hot, so be careful…
Vel: Thank you. I’ll try a sip now… Ah! …It was so hot, and I ended up spilling it…
Dia: I told you to be careful, didn’t I? Did you get burned anywhere?
Vel: I’m fine… I only spilled a little bit.
Dia: Wait right there, I’m going to bring something to cool it off.
Vel: …Thank you.
Dia: …All right, there we go.
Vel: …
Dia: …What’s wrong?
Vel: …I’d heard that you’re the kind of person that finds most things bothersome.
Dia: Well, I basically am…
Vel:  But you baked cookies for me, and you invited me to tea with you, and just now you brought something cool it down for me.  It would’ve been better if you just let me be… Don’t you think I’m a pain?
Dia: Well, I’m just doing what I feel like doing…
Vel: You feel like you want to do things for me?
Dia: Well, if it’s for a comrade, it’s not really a pain… Actually, Velour, I’ve heard that you don’t like doing many things, either.
Vel: That’s right. I usually don’t like to move around too much.
Dia: And then you went all the way and got one off your treasures for me…
Vel: T-That was… because I needed to thank you.
Dia: I-I see… Well… Thanks…
Vel: …
Dia:  …
Vel: …Why did it suddenly become so awkward? And I feel so… embarrassed.
Dia: Y-Yeah, me too.
Vel: Dia, this is your fault. Make things better by making it less awkward.
Dia: Then let’s continue with our tea… And don’t spill it this time.
Vel: …Thank you. Yes, this tea is quite delicious.

Dia: Velour, can I talk to you…?
Velour: Dia?
Dia: I found this, so I thought I’d give it to you…
Vel: This is… a tattered blanket, isn’t it? ...It’s wonderful!
Dia: You like this kind of thing, right? …I just found it somewhere.
Vel: Thank you, I’m touched.
Dia: I see… I’m glad you like it.
Vel: But… Sniff sniff, sniff sniff sniff… There’s something very strange about it.
Dia: …W-What’s strange?
Vel: Dia, you just happened to come across this?
Dia: …Yeah. I was just walking, and… I found it.
Vel: But this blanket smells like it comes from a ways away from here.
Dia: R-Really… What an amazing sense of smell…
Vel: Sniff sniff… sniff sniff sniff…. There’s no mistaking it, what I smell… is  treasure. The same smell as that mountain of treasure from a nearby village’s pile of unwanted items… You couldn’t have walked by there by chance. What’s this about, Dia?
Dia: Well, I guess I… went to the mountain of treasure…
Vel: Why would you do that, Dia?
Dia: Because I’d heard I’d find something you like there…
Vel: You went there to find something just for me? Why would you do something so clearly bothersome? It’s not like you at all.
Dia: It’s because… I wanted to see you smile, so…
Vel: ?! You wanted to... Does that…?
Dia: I want to see you smile many times… not just now, but even more in the future.
Vel: …You want to see me smile, right?
Dia: Yes, I do…
Vel: Then there’s no need for a mountain of treasure. There’s a much simpler way you could make me smile.
Dia: …Will you tell me how?
Vel: Just stay by my side, always… That’s enough to make me happy…
Dia: Then I’ll stay by you and never leave, all right?
