Tanamachi Kaoru (Lovers Path Summary)

Note: The Amagami SS anime followed Morishima's Lovers Path.  For all girls, this path levels up from first meeting (deai) -> admiration (akogare) -> love (suki).  This summary is of Kaoru's Lovers Path.  It is intended to give people some idea of what may happen in the anime.  You are warned: massive spoilers are ahead.

First Meeting
- Game intro for Kaoru: Tachibana sleepily waits for lunch.  Kaoru sneaks up from behind and bites his ear to tease him.  Umehara calls them the comedy couple.  Tachibana doesn’t get what he means.
- Alternate intro: Kaoru accidentally knocks Tachibana to the ground.  He sees her panties, she knocks him out cold.  Later in the infirmary, Kaoru apologizes to Tachibana.  He says it’s ok; he saw something great (her meek side).  Kaoru blushes anyway.
- Keiko (Kaoru’s friend) asks Kaoru for advice on how to confess to a guy.  Tachibana suggests writing a letter.  The guy reads the letter to his other friends.  Kaoru gets angry, confronts the guy, and grabs his collar.  You have a choice of stopping the fight or silently watch.
- Kaoru wonders about the true meaning of her relationship with Tachibana.  They’ve been bad friends since middle school – nothing more, nothing less.  She wants some kind of change.
Tachibana asks if Kaoru has someone she likes.  Kaoru turns it around by putting her arms around his neck.  Looking straight into his eyes, she asks if he has someone he likes.  Tachibana, not knowing what to do, breaks free and “touches something soft.”  Kaoru tells him to forget what happened and leaves flustered.

Admiration
- Kaoru’s frustration builds.  Tachibana hasn’t changed, she has.  She realizes her feelings for him have changed beyond that of just “bad” friends.
- Out of the blue, Kaoru tells Tachibana to kiss her on the terrace where people have their lunch.  Tachibana thinks she’s just messing with his head again.  Kaoru is being serious.
Tachibana: Look around you.
Kaoru: I see only you.
Tachibana: But we’re just classmates, bad friends, and…
Kaoru: A man and a woman.
Kaoru then forces a kiss on him.  “Our relationship isn’t so bad,” she says.  Tachibana doesn’t know what to make of it.
- Kaoru tells Tachibana to act manlier.  She kissed him on the terrace, he should do better.  Tachibana takes that bet, he’ll kiss her… on the belly button.  Kaoru takes him on, leading to probably one of her most famous CGs.  Kaoru gets flustered and pulls down her shirt, trapping Tachibana’s head inside btw.

Love
- Her mother tells her that she’s thinking about getting remarried.  In this period, Kaoru becomes uncharacteristically sullen and depressed.  She only has one father (not sure if that father is either dead or divorced, too lazy to find that part specifically).  Tachibana supports her emotionally the entire time.
- Kaoru wants to understand her feelings for Tachibana better and does so by sharing a long, passionate kiss with him.
(Kaoru: What is a kiss?  A form of affection?  Communication?  If I kiss you, will I understand you better?)
What follows is Tachibana and Kaoru’s Christmas date walking along the beach holding hands and visiting the port tower.  Tachibana’s afraid of heights, yet Kaoru gives him strength by holding his hand.
- When Kaoru sleeps over Tachibana’s house (they’re both in the same bed), Kaoru “pretends” to talk to herself.  Everyone needs someone to love.  Her mother needs someone just like Kaoru needs Tachibana.  She accepts her mother getting remarried in the end but on the condition that Tachibana be with her the entire way.  Lovers are together in good times and in bad.

Other possible scenes not in Lovers Path
- Combo end between lovers, best friends, and good ends, which is entirely plausible given their time lines.
- A peeping tom is lurking around the school campus.  Kaoru wears bloomers to lure him out and uppercuts him.  There’s a possible bad end when you accidentally find a hole into the girl’s locker room and you’re mistaken as the peeping tom.
- Kaoru sprains her ankle in the school staircase.  You carry her to the infirmary.
- You watch a show at an amusement park.  The mascot falls in the water, but it’s all part of the show.
- You play games together in the arcade.
- A stalker harasses Kaoru at her part time job.  Kaoru forces a kiss on you to pretend that you’re going out.
- You play pool together.  You “lose” when you get distracted by a view underneath Kaoru’s shirt.
