First and Foremost

Communication is Key:

It is time we officially meet and time to cover some topics at issue both here at House Liao and with regards to MWO, the game, content, etc, where is House Liao, what are we doing and what is our future.


First off, as there are many newcomers to House Liao, I would like to take some time to introduce myself and familiarize you all with my history and past where House Liao is concerned. My role, my intentions, and my efforts "ALL REVOLVE AROUND HOUSE LIAO", and its continued success.

1998-1999 all dates approximate- I am aging. =)

Metro a young ambitious newcomer to online gaming, not too mention Multiplayer formats, stumbled upon EGA Battletech. I sat there night after night, reading the rules, testing my system, and exploring the game. Low and behold, "FINALLY" someone named Green Hornet came into what was then, their open chat room. "GH" said hey newbie, can I help you? what are you looking for, and what do you want out of this game?? I had the ultimate reply waiting in response, uh..........I dunno. He giggled and said ok, type what I type and do what I do, and we were off !!

From that moment on, it was HOUSE LIAO for me. A convert and believer for life. I met and played with, trained,worked and respawned with some of the most special people you could ever be blessed to have met, much less call them friend or they you.

I served under many regiment leaders for the next 3-4 years or so. Listening, learning, training, etc. I served under House Liao Chancellors, who to this very day, are unmatched by any other House Leaders in the Innersphere, and trust me I know and have known them all since 1998-1999.

2000-2001 EGA shutdown, lo and behold KESMAI/GAMESTORM/AOL came alive and MPBT 3025 was born.  We saw a lot of people come and go. Cancer claimed a few, age claimed a few more, and Real Life Wars, claimed others. Yet the community grew and became a lifeline for so many. We enjoyed a promising future together, until (EA) Electronic Arts pulled the plug. We were all devastated. What would we do where would we go, what would we play?

2001-2002  Next Generation was born. ISW/InnerSphere Wars was born. Platform/Mechwarrior 4engine. Woot! We were saved. We were all in. Coding, mapping, planning, etc
House Liao grew again by leaps and bounds. A house leader retires, a new one is appointed. A House Leader passes away, and new Leader is appointed. Development continues. 2-3 years in, the lull hits, DEV is at a stand still. 90% of the Innersphere inhabitants disburse to the winds in dismay and defeat. House Liao Chancellor retires, appointing Metro to take the reigns and push for revival.  The revival came, but for gamers it was too late. Hence House Liao was idle for almost a decade, enter MWO 2012.

I took it upon my self to keep at least House Liao alive. I purchased the rights to the domain, all three. .COM, .NET, and . ORG from the original owner. A House liao Website and some form of Teamspeak kept operating and online for almost a decade, waiting for a new DEVELOPER, a new game and new future.............HOPE!

are we happy? I am.

Pleased? well, not yet.

Can it be, all we want and expect? I say yes, given time and room to work out the kinks.

Will it require our undue patience, willingness to conform, change, relearning, redoing, adapting and accepting? Yes.

All good things come in time, and compromise is not an evil word.

From where I stand, both inside and outside of MWO as well as our Own home at House Liao. Growing pains, are never fun. But necessary. We are in one of those unwanted but necessary lulls. People are disgruntled with progress, it is rampant across the forums.

Given, Community Warfare is a way out, there just isnt that much for any of us to do. Ranks need filling out, direction planned, and framework put in place.

Here at House Liao, I prefer we all remain focused and concentrate on training, recruiting,getting to know our newcomers and preparing for a game that will come online, when is the question.

Details, units, ranks, positions can all be dealt with at the necessary time.



Let there be no mistake nor question, where I personally stand.

Perceptions:

It has come to light that many of you have been left with the impression, have been told  or feel that the House Leadership and/or its officers, many of which you drop with or talk to everyday are, unapproachable ,with regards to your concerns about HOUSE LIAO, your position, your status, your opinions etc.

That could not be further from the truth. If you were told so, feel like, or have that impression, I urge you to move forward and communicate.

In an effort to facilitate this open communication, you will all find 2 new threads for your use.

Again, I will state.

Their service to HouseLiao and their friends here - was, is and will always be appreciated.

I have no ill will towards them, their decisions were their own, and they are always welcome to return.

I thank them for their contributions to our diverse community. I as many of you will miss their input, feedback, and conversation.

Propnut and Sheen, did not give myself nor to my knowledge, any of the House Leadership any indication they were leaving.

We were all aware of the fact, they were as disgruntled with MWO as are the larger majority of the MWO clientele.

Aside from murmurrings, rumors and speculation, I was never approached privately to discuss any matters about disagreements with my decisions.

Insinuations that House Liao is operating under the good ole' boy club and/or code of conduct, is completely untrue. Everyone around here, puts their jeans and/or shorts on in the same manner.

There was no reason for the two of these fine Liaotians to just up and walk away. Nothing, that communication and discussion could not have solved.

Insinuations,rumors and speculation that either one of these two fine Liaotians, being asked to leave, or that they were told to leave, or that their work,input or positions were unappreciated, is without merit.

Absolutely, undoubtedly, without question a complete and total Mess.

ALL DUE to: LACK OF COMMUNICATION.

Per my investigation and information I was provided and gathered from over a dozen Liaotians.

Per multiple conversations, some facts matching up, others not so much and too much specualtion from all parties offering their viewpoints.


Here is my account, 100% correct or not,  hence my decision:

Relics went inactive.

Capellan Hussars ranks asked for help finding a new leader.

This was talked about at an officer meeting, of which I was told Sheen and Propnut were present.

Propnut called for a meeting with the CH, only one person showed.

Propnut replaced, Relics with Cale McKenna.

all hell breaks loose.

Un-necessary name calling,reactions etc etc occured. They went unreported to me and to my knowledge the House XO

Unacceptable references and personal attacks were made, yet went unreported to me and to my knowledge the House XO

I was called in, given a short list of occurences, moved a lance under my control,

House Meeting called.

Sheen was not able to be present.

Relics shows up for meeting.

I talk to him outside of meeting,

Relics asks to address the House.

I ask House, if they will hear Relics.

all present agree to hear him.

Relics tells his side.

Relics leaves.

I ask the officers in meeting, if anyone has objections to letting Relics and his Lance remain under my control.

No objections.

Now 10+ days later, I hear I undermined commanders decisions without regard, this supposedly plays apart in two resignations.

I am now presented with forum proof and being told of private messages, which I have yet to get a copy of, and behavior on teamspeak of actions unbecoming "OFFICERS" of House Liao, of which I have yet to be presented screen shots.

A little too late folks.

Any decision made by myself or anyone else under these circumstances, could never be the right one.

You are all guilty of implicating the one neutral party in the House, which displeases me.

and I am not surprised party A or B  find themselves behooved to SCREAM to the mountains.

These activities sadden me.

These occurences will never happen again, and if they do, they will be met with the full wrath of the Chancellor of The Mighty Innersphere House of Liao.


Now based on this, some of you will choose to stay. House Liao appreciates your committment to see it through.

Some will choose to move on, and I can only wish you all the very best and pray success and fulfillment unfold a path before you.
