New ABCAB OU
This is the tier called Alphabet Abilities Cup OU, or ABCAB OU for short. The basic idea behind it is that it is an incredibly hectic and overpowered metagame with a few rules in place to keep it playable. Explanation down below.
Explanation
Alphabet Cup was a silly experiment where everything gets the moves of their first letter. For example:
- Abomasnow gets Aura Sphere;
- Darmanitan gets Diamond Storm;
- Ferrothorn gets Flare Blitz.

They also retain their original movepool, so that can be used too! For example:
- Abomasnow gets Blizzard;
- Darmanitan gets Flare Blitz;
- Ferrothorn gets Power Whip.

Now we are introducing that the Pokemon also gets all the abilities that start with the same letter. So:
- Abomasnow gets Adaptability;
- Darmanitan gets Drought (and Desolate land ;3);
- Ferrothorn gets Flash Fire.

They can still use their original abilities however:
- Abomasnow gets Snow Warning;
- Darmanitan gets Sheer Force;
- Ferrothorn gets Iron Barbs.

In adition, CAP Pokemon are legal, and there is no unreleased clause. Have fun!

If something isn't explicitly mentioned as banned, it isn't banned. This is the basic logic behind a banlist.
Clauses
- Ability Clause: You are not allowed to have a Huge Power and Pure Power Pokemon on the same team;
- Accuracy/Evasion Clause: You are not allowed to use moves that raise your evasion or lower the opponent's accuracy;
- Endless Battle Clause: You are not allowed to have a moveset on a Pokemon that can force an endless battle;
- Letter Clause: You are not allowed to have more than one Pokemon of the same letter on the same team;
- Sleep Clause: You are not allowed to put more than one opposing Pokemon to sleep;
- If you would like to run a Mega Pokemon, you cannot run any move/ability that will be illegal once it mega evolves. Additionally, Pokemon need to be brought in with a mega stone and mega evolve during battle.
- Anything banned to Ubers is not allowed in New ABCAB OU.
- Anything with more than 70 Speed is not allowed to run the moves Geomancy or Shell Smash (including megas on mega evolving);
- Anything with more than 90 Attack and/or Special Attack is not allowed to run the ability Parental Bond (including megas on mega evolving);
- Anything with more than 90 Attack is not allowed to run the abilities Huge Power or Pure Power (that isn't Mega-Mawile or Mega-Medicham).
- Anything with more than 90 Defense is not allowed to run the ability Fur Coat;
- Anything with more than 90 Speed is not allowed to run the ability Speed Boost (that isn't Ninjask, Scolipede, Sharpedo or Yanmega) ;
- The ability Arena Trap is banned (that isn't Diglett, Dugtrio or Trapinch);
- The ability Moody is banned;
- The ability Mountaineer is banned;
- The ability Persistent is banned;
- The ability Rebound is banned;
- The ability Shadow Tag is banned (on anything that isn't Wobuffet, Wynaut, Gothita, Gothorita or Gothitelle);
- The ability Wonder Guard is banned (on anything that isn't Shedinja);
- The combination of Parental Bond + Power-Up Punch is banned;
- The combination of Parental Bond + Super Fang is banned;
- The combination of Simple + Geomancy is banned;
- The combination of Simple + Shell Smash is banned;
- The combination of Simple + Shift Gear is banned;
- The forms Aegislash-Blade and Meloetta-Pirouette are not allowed to be used as seperate Pokemon;
- The moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, Hyperspace Hole, Magikarp's Revenge, Paleo Wave, Shadow Strike, Sheer Cold, Sketch, Steam Eruption, Swagger, Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves are banned;
- The Pokemon Pikachu is not allowed to have the ability Parental Bond in combination with the item Light Ball;
- The Pokemon Pikachu is not allowed to have the ability Pure Power in combination with the item Light Ball;
- The Pokemon Shedinja is not allowed to have the ability Sturdy.
Additions
- Castform-Sunny, Castform-Rainy and Castform-Snowy are legal as a stand-alone Pokemon! They can also run any ability besides their original one (this being Forecast) if they start with a C, same goes for moves;
- Cherrim-Sunshine is legal as a stand-alone Pokemon! It can also run any ability besides its original one (this being Flower Gift) if they start with a C, same goes for moves;
- Darmanitan-Zen is legal as a stand-alone Pokemon! It can also run any ability besides its original ones (those being Sheer Force and Zen Mode) if they start with a D, same goes for moves.
