  1. >Where is everyone?
  2. >That was a good question.
  3. >One you've been asking yourself for years.
  4. >Or has it been decades?
  5. >Time just passed by, you didn't care enough to keep track.
  6. >Where is everyone?
  7. >Did they move away?
  8. >Did they fly out into the sky. past the clouds and into the far reaches of dark, deep space?
  9. >Maybe they all went to paradise.
  10. >And left you alone to think.
  11. >It was hard to think with all those distractions.
  12. >No one around to tell you what to do.
  13. >No one to stop you from doing what you wanted.
  14. >Freedom. It felt good.
  15. >Most of the time.
  16. >Where is everyone?
  17. >What happened to that building over there?
  18. >It was there a second ago.
  19. >Now it's dust.
  20. >Like many of the things around here.
  21. >Where is everyone?
  22. >Why have they left you?
  23. >Was it something you did?
  24. >Something you said?
  25. >Nothing could be that bad.
  26. >To make everyone jump ship.
  27. >Where is everyone?
  28. >And why does guilt press itself upon your mind, every second of every day?
  29. >Maybe you were dreaming.
  30. >Dreaming a long ass dream.
  31. >The pain in your arm is still present.
  32. >That rules out the dream theory.
  33. >You try to remember what happened.
  34. >Damn your shitty memory.
  35. >Or maybe it's because of the lump on your head.
  36. >Another building crumbles beneath you.
  37. >It barely makes a sound.
  38. >Not like the sound of chunks of rubble clashing with each other.
  39. >More like the sound of sand being poured out of a bucket.
  40. >How could buildings do that?
  41. >Just be blown to the ground with a little wind?
  42. >It unnerved you.
  43. >A walk should calm your nerves.
  44. >Where you were going didn't matter, you walked where your feet took you.
  45. >That place seemed to be a school.
  46. >Vague memories float through your weary mind, flashing with sounds, and images.
  47. >Loud, girlish screams pierced the near still silence.
  48. >Your minds at it again.
  49. >You squeeze your eyes shut and try your best to ignore the screams.
  50. >They get louder with each step you take.
  51. >"Girls, calm down, screaming isn't going to solve anything."
  52. >Thats new.
  53. >You open your eyes and freeze on the spot.
  54. >Six girls, all shouting and running around, panicking.
  55. >Did you know them?
  56. >Something inside you stirs.
  57. >There's that guilt again.
  58. >Fragmented memories flood your brain, desperatly trying to piece themselves together in an effort to make an ounce of sense.
  59. >The purple skinned one stops, and stares at you.
  60. >The others follow suit, staring at you, thinking, fearing.
  61. >"—?"
  62. >Mouths moved, but no sound came out.
  63. >Words formed, but comprehension was nigh impossible.
  64. >Your brain clicks and churns, trying to make sense of the situation.
  65. >Why though?
  66. >They shouldn't be here, they couldn't be here.
  67. >But why?
