Next in our little OT3 story for Antiqua, focus on 2 of the 3, this one being Akko and Sucy!

							Chapter 23.

Sucy has chosen to spend her weekend as she typically does - in her room at her desk, messing around with different concoctions and ingredients to make certain potions.

Ever since she'd fallen into a relationship with Akko and Diana, she's had a bit less free time to do as she pleases, but she's made due with it, because even though she'd never admit it out loud, she enjoys spending time with her girlfriends, too.

Maybe as much as she enjoys making poisons. But she'd never tell them that.

Lotte has gone off to the library as is typical for her, while Akko has decided to stay in their room with Sucy to talk her ears off.

And Sucy doesn't actually mind all that much. In fact, she kind of likes having Akko here with her just to listen to her gab away about this or that. Since they'd started living in the dorms together, Sucy's gotten used to the constant background noise, to the point where she's realized she doesn't work quite as well without it.

Presently, Akko is laying on her bed, dressed in her uniform but looking like she should be in her pajamas due to how much rolling around she's doing. She's been blabbing about one of the exams they'd taken in class yesterday, and so far Sucy's responses have been nothing but grunts and grumbles as she continues mixing potions.

But somewhere along the lines, Akko's train of thought takes her away from the less exciting things like tests, and into things she likes much more. Namely, her girlfriends.

"And of course Diana got a perfect score! Actually, she got higher than that cuz she found a mistake on the test and fixed it and stuff. I didn't think that sorta thing actually happened in real life!"

Sucy doesn't take her eye off her bubbling green potion for a second.

"What do you expect? She's Diana."

"I know!" Akko sighs, rolling onto her other side. "But like… sometimes I wish she could be a bit less… Diana-ish. Y'know what I mean?"

"I guess." Sucy gives a half-listening reply answer and plucks off a fat leaf from a purple plant, then adds it to her mixture. Akko groans.

"Who even reads the test that closely that they notice a mistake?"

"I mean, realistically we all probably should've been paying attention to stuff like that," Sucy mumbles. "Diana's always been super sharp, though."

"That girl seriously needs to relax every once in a while…" Akko huffs herself into silence for a minute, and Sucy utilizes the brief quiet in order to utter a few incantations on her next batch of ingredients. But just as she's finishing up her spell, she gets interrupted by a sudden cry.

"Oh!"

Sucy curses as her spell flops while Akko sits up in her bunk so quickly she smacks her head on Lotte's. After a moment where both of them mourn their misfortunes, Sucy heaves a sigh.

"What grand epiphany did you have this time?"

"Oww…" Akko rubs her forehead a second longer before she's back to her peppy, loud self. "Hey, Sucy! Can you make like, a potion or something that could help Diana relax?"

Sucy perks up a little bit and ponders for a second.

"Hm. I mean sure, that sort of thing is pretty basic. But do you think she'd like to find out we drugged her?"

Akko's determined expression melts away.

"Well… when you put it like that, I guess not…"

Sucy leaves her potion to brew for the moment, sitting back in her chair and turning to her roommate.

"Well, it's the thought that counts. Next time I see her I'll let Diana know you wanted to drug her."

"Hey! S-Sucy, that's not what I meant! Don't tell her that!" Akko tosses her pillow across the room at her. Sucy draws her wand and waves a spell to stop it, then flings it right back in her face. Akko sputters and falls flat on her back with a groan.

Sucy chuckles, but gets up from her desk for the moment. She shuffles over to Akko and grabs her by the hand, then yanks her back up, making sure not to let her hit her head a second time. Akko pouts out a sigh.

"But do you know what I mean, Sucy? Diana's always doing extra work and patrols stuff. She almost never has time to have fun. So-"

"So you wanna think of a way to prank her?"

"Huh?"

Sucy sits down beside her with a grin.

"We'll prank her. Have her loosen up a little. Nothing too crazy."

Akko blinks and mulls it over for a second.

"That could be risky. We might just end up making her mad…"

"So let's think it over then," Sucy offers. "We'll do something harmless. Like sprout mushrooms from her hair."

"Why is it always mushrooms with you, Su?" Akko shakes her head. "I think that'd just embarrass her."

"Then do you have any ideas?"

"Hmm… How about a potion that makes her voice stop working for a day? That way, people can't keep asking her questions and making her do spells for them!"

"Maybe. But what if something happened and she needed to call for help?"

"Guh- you're right… And besides, I'd just miss hearing her voice for a whole day…"

"You're pretty hopeless." Sucy tilts her head back to look up at the ceiling. "Then how about we turn her into a cat or something? Just when it's us three, and we can have her take a nap. Though I guess she'd just transform herself back right away…"

"Yeah…" Akko leans a little closer to Sucy, brushing shoulders with her. "I don't think that would work."

Sucy thinks for another minute, surprised that she's actually kind of getting invested in this idea of pranking Diana.

"Then how about turning her uniform pink or something?"

"Heh, that's a pretty cute idea coming from you, Sucy~" Akko coos, leaning against her even more. Sucy grunts.

"I'm just saying whatever. Where are all your bright ideas?"

"Mm I dunno…" Akko yawns, stretching out her arms into a hug around Sucy and slouching against her. She rests her head on Sucy's shoulder and closes her eyes. "My brain isn't working anymore."

"Not surprised," Sucy grunts. "We're supposed to be thinking about a way to help Diana loosen up. Did you seriously give up already? We've been doing this for two minutes tops. "

"Hrrmm two minutes is a long tiiiiiime…"

"What are you, a goldfish?" Sucy tries to shrug her off, but Akko only slouches onto her more.

"Heeeyyy Sucyyy… Let's think about it later and just cuddle now…"

"No way."

"Awww c'mon Sucyyyyy!" Akko clings more tightly onto her. Sucy paws at her face to try and push her away, but Akko hangs on like a stubborn bur.

"Seriously, Akko…"

"Yes! I'm serious! Let's cuddle, Sucy!"

"You're an idiot."

"Pleeeeeease?" Akko hangs on her like a shed skin, and though Sucy tries to wriggle away, she doesn't see much point in it. She knows that once Akko has her mind set on this sort of thing it's impossible to have her let it go. Plus, her potion is finished and still needs to brew for a while, and Lotte won't be back for at least another hour…

So Sucy gives in, but she doesn't let on that she's happy about it.

"You're so annoying… My little sisters aren't even this bad."

"Aww, but you know you love meee~"

"Do I?"

"Hey!"

"It was a joke." Sucy folds her arms across her chest like she does when she sleeps, then without warning falls back onto Akko's bed with her. Akko yelps in surprise.

"Whoa! Sucy?"

"Shut up. This is what you wanted, right? Just do it."

Akko's eyes light up.

"Wait, you really mean it?! We can cuddle?!"

"I'm taking a nap. You can do whatever you want, I guess…"

"Yeay~!"

So of course Akko throws herself on Sucy in another tight hug and begins nuzzling into her shoulder like her life depends on it. Sucy makes a face, feeling like a llama being attacked by an annoying fly.

Akko giggles, pulling herself close and wiggling around for a solid minute or so before she finally stops moving. She deflates with a happy sigh, closing her eyes at last as she rests her head on Sucy's shoulder.

"Cuddle time is the best…"

Sucy only grunts in response, but she slowly puts one arm around Akko anyway.

Akko makes another long, loud, happy sound, and not a minute later she's snoring softly. Sucy rolls her eyes, reaching down a bit to poke Akko's cheek.

"I don't know how Diana and I deal with you."

She stares up at the underside of Lotte's bed for a few minutes before getting bored and deciding to close her eyes too. Akko is pretty warm, and when she's not moving around and talking so much, it's nice to be with her.

They'll have to think of something to do about Diana later.

But for now Sucy just closes her eye and lets herself enjoy a brief nap with Akko.

A/N: And by the time they wake up they're both so relaxed they forget all about 'pranking' Diana, probably. Just a little something for Suakko!
