- >I've been wandering around with this dumbshit for 5 days
- >He still hasn't decided where to go
- >Damn him
- >"Ah, friend, could you wait here? I have to help this fair maiden real quick!"
- >He left me alone in a rundown bar full of murderers
- >So he could "Help" a prostitute
- >They draw various daggers
- >Meh
- >You wonder how you still hang by his side through all this bullshit
- >At least you get to loot corpses...
- >The dumbshit probably doesn't even know how many bodies you've stopped from killing him
- >Oh well...
- >It's been another 5 days
- >You've left that shitty town
- >But not before leaving a trail of corpses behind
- >Your friend is still oblivious to how many people you've murdered so he can stay alive
- >Meh
- >You two are walking down the road heading towards some sort of free city a few days travel
- >an arrow thunks into your shoulder
- >Why is it always you...
- >Coming out of a copse of trees are some burly men led by a woman
- >She's a Wolf girl
- >Fuck
- >The dumbass is already running to fight her
- >That leaves you to fight the other two
- >You rush at one of them trying to get your shield up
- >Having the arrow in your shoulder hinders you a bit
- >You smash into the first man and slam your axe into his face while he is on the ground
- >The second man yells and slams into you, knocking you to the ground and snapping the arrow
- >After a few minutes of struggling you've finaly managed to get astride him and proceed to reduce his face into a bloody smear with your helmet
- >Fights over
- >Friend is talking to the Wolf girl
- >He doesn't even have a scratch on him
- >The Wolf is blushing and laughing
- >You're covered in blood
- >You hate adventuring sometimes...
- >It's been two days since you met the Wolf girl
- >Two days with them of non stop flirting
- >It's growing annoying
- >You sigh
- >"So, who's that guy? He looks kinda unsightly..."
- >You frown
- >You're covered in specs of blood and most of your body is bruised
- >Your axe is notched from all the killing you've been doing recently
- >You have also not been sleeping well, your friend doesn't like to stand watch
- >"Ah, that's Dietrich, I grew up with him! He decided to come along with me on my grand adventure, I figured I might as well be a good friend and let him tag along for a bit."
- >You gaze back at them with a dead soulless gaze
- >He's lucky his mother used to take care of you
- >After a few more hours you can finally see the city up ahead
- >You're really looking forward to getting a drink.. Or several.
- >All of you are stopped at the gates
- >The guards finally wave you past after staring at your battered and bloodied form uneasily
- >You reach the tavern and procure a room for yourself and your friend
- >You finally sit back and sigh, signaling the barmaid for a drink
- >The Wolf Girl has dragged your companion over to another table where some fancy looking woman in a robe is sipping some kind of drink
- >They seem to know eachother
- >The barmaid finally brings you your drink, placing it before you with a smile
- >You smile back with a muttered thanks and hand her some coins
- >it's going to be a hell of a night, you can feel it
- >it's been a few hours
- >Your friend has gone to sleep
- >The wolf girl went with him
- >The other woman he was talking to also left
- >You signaled the barmaid and asked for a key to a separate room a bit ago
- >A few more hours pass with you having gone up and placed your gear in the room
- >You go back down and have another drink
- >It is now pitch black outside
- >The lights in the tavern have also dimmed
- >You get up and make your way up stairs once more
- >You pass by your friends room
- >Luckily no noise emanates from it
- >You finally reach your room and stop
- >You notice a faint glow inside
- >You open the door slightly and peek inside
- >A cloaked figure is hunched over your belongings, rifling through them
- >It has a tail with a dim flame growing from it
- >You open the door all the way and step inside
- >"Who are you, and why are you in my room?"
- >There's a curse and the figure turns toward you
- >You can't see much under the small cloaked hood but you can make out the scales covering the persons arms and the sharp claws she has for hands and feet
- >Suddenly she lunges at you
- >You curse and raise your booted foot and lash out with a kick to it's midriff
- >It's like kicking a stone wall
- >The person stumbles back a bit and you take your chance to barrel into them
- >It's time to fight dirty
- >You grab the hood of the cloak and pull it down over the persons face as you quickly bring their head down onto your knee
- >There's a satisfying crack and a snarl before you're flung backwards
- >You crash to the floor and quickly get to your feet
- >The figure has now taken off their cloak
- >It is an older looking woman, covered in scales of a reddish orange hue
- >Her yellow slit eyes glare darkly at you as blood pours down her face from a broken nose
- >With another snarl she charges you, swiping with her claw, you try to jump back but slam into the wall
- >Her claws leave bloody furrows in your flesh
- >She goes to swipe again, but you dive past her to the middle of the room
- >She quickly turns to follow you
- >You duck another swipe and put a jab right into her nose again
- >She screams, clutching her face and kicks you towards the window
- >You manage to stop from plummeting through it but only just
- >Throughout the fight you don't notice the room becoming brighter, or the slight panting come from the woman
- >Before you can move away from the window she's already in front of you
- >Her hands wrap around your throat, squeezing tight
- >Her face inches closer to yours, her breath hitting your face in hot pants while a manic gleam is in her eyes
- >Slowly running out of breath you do the only thing you can think of
- >Instead of trying to dislodge her, you bring her closer and make yourself tumble through the window, smashing the glass with your back
- >There is a brief moment of vertigo before you both smack into the ground
- >You both lay there panting
- >You think your ribs are broken
- >With a groan, she stands up and starts making her way towards you, that same manic glow in her eyes while her tail blazes brightly
- >You hear distant shouting and running
- >She looks up and down the alley you've fallen in and snarls
- >She looks back to you and finally speaks
- >"This isn't over!"
- >You pass out shortly after watching her run away
- >You wake up
- >You groan, your entire body aches
- >You try to remember where you are
- >All you can remember is getting into a fight and falling out of a window
- >Someone clears their throat in the room
- >You look over to see a woman with red hair, tan skin amd a face that has small faded scars
- >She wearing scale maile and has a sword on her hip
- >"Are you well, sir?"
- >You are confused
- >"Who are you?"
- >"My name is Cassandra, I am a Knight Errant, I was the one who discovered you and drove off your attacker."
- >She has a serious stare as she looks at you
- >You're too tired for this
- >"Another man also stopped by, he left you this."
- >She hands you a folded letter
- >You read it
- >Hey, Dietrich, had to leave and help Lupa's friend, can you believe she is a sorceress? Anyways, we went towards the next town a few days away, doctors said you'd be out for a day or so and I didn't want to wait. When you wake up hurry and follow, we'll stay around the town for a few days, good luck ha ha.
- >That little shit left you here
- >God dammit
- >You move to sit up when a hand presses you down
- >It's the knight
- >She has a cold expression on her face
- >"You shouldn't be moving so soon after being injured."
- >You gently push her hand aside and sit up
- >You hiss at the burning pain in your chest and clench your teeth
- >You take stock of your self and find that you are still in your briefs from last night
- >The rest of your clothing is gone
- >The knight is still glaring at you
- >"Where are my clothes?"
- >She scoffs and moves over to a chair grabbing your untill now unseen clothing
- >She comes back and hands them to you
- >The shirt is easiest
- >The pants are going to be harder
- >You sigh
- >That little shit is lucky his mother loves him
- >You had finally managed to get your pants on
- >The Scylla nurse had come in to check on you to make sure you were ok
- >She had an adorable hat
- >You are now being helped back to the tavern to collect your things
- >The Knight slowly but steadly guides you
- >"I don't need a nursemaid, woman, I said I'll be fine..."
- >She throws you that cold glance again
- >"It is the duty of a knight to ensure the safty of the peasantry."
- >You frown
- >You had said you were fine on your own
- >Wait
- >Did she just call you a peasant?
- >Bitch
- >You finally arrive at the tavern and make your way to your door
- >You open it and are greeted by a surprise
- >Your Maile armour is layed across your bed as is your axe
- >You move over slowly to inspect them
- >The knight goes and stands beside the door
- >Your maile shirt has been polished and some of the broken links repaired
- >Your worn leather boots also have a new sheen to them some of its holes now patched
- >Your once notched axe has also been polished and sharpened and now gleams dully in the weak light of the morning
- >There is a folded note on your shield
- >I look forward to meeting you again. Consider this my gift to you for a wonderful time that night. I'll be watching you.
- >You frown and fold the note back up
- >You frown some more as you realize your gold pouch is missing
- >The Salamander must have stolen it
- >Dammit
- >The knight finally speaks up
- >"Is something wrong?"
- >You sigh
- >"Can you help me put on my armour?"
- >It's going to be a long day
- >You're slowly walking down the road
- >It's been two days since your "Friend" left you behind
- >All so he could go "Help" some small village in the middle of bumfuck nowhere
- >The Knight Errant is still with you
- >She had explained to you when you were leaving that,as she was Errant she had nowhere else to be and your quest seemed a good one
- >All while managing to call you an "Uncouth peasant" there were other words too but they seemed too fancy to be insults
- >Or were they?
- >Meh
- >You finally arrived at the outskirts of the village
- >What you thought at first was smoke from chimneys are thatched roof cotteges on fire
- >Oh, ok
- >You and the knight race to the village and as you get closer you hear the sounds of fighting
- >Coming to the village center you see a furious melee slowly devolving into a slaughter
- >Fighting in the center of it is your friend
- >He's fighting against some giant bearded man wearing patchwork armour
- >He's also getting destroyred
- >Figures
- >Beside you you hear a yell as the knight charges into the scrum with her sword
- >Time to get to work
- >You charge towards the group clustered around the giant and plant your axe into a mans spine with a wet crunch
- >The knight slams into the man next to him and runs him through
- >Wth those men out of the way you finally have a clear shot at Beardman
- >Your friend is on the ground clutching his arm, blood slowly pooling down it
- >Beardman is taunting him, laughing
- >That's a mistake
- >The first thing your dad taught you when you up a sword at ten was to kill your man and move on
- >And so you do
- >Your axe comes slamming down on to the back of the mans skull, cleaving through his leather hood and killing him
- >You jerk it out and move on to the group of men clutching spears and trying to desperately keep the other bandits away from a chapel
- >Twenty minutes later
- >The fight is done
- >You're covered in blood and the town square is a charnel house smelling of blood, shit and piss
- >Meh
- >The sorceress is fussing over your friends arm small tears in her eyes
- >The wolf girl is going on about how brave he was
- >The town people are also praising him for his help defeating the bandit leader
- >You and the knight seem to be largely forgotten
- >5 more minutes later and everyone is cleaning up, you didn't see where the three idiots got off too but you have an idea
- >You look around at the blood covered square
- >you frown
- >Bodies lie cooling in the sun and broken blades and shields litter the ground
- >You stare at the horrified expressions on their faces
- >Killing is never easy
- >There is a tug on your maile
- >A small girl is holding a flower up to you with teasr in her eyes as she thanks you
- >It's never easy, but, sometimes it's worth it
- >You pat her head with your blood stained glove as you take the flower
- >It's been another two days
- >two days of walking down a road with no end in site
- >Your friend is flirting with the mage and wolf the entire time
- >He tried flirting with the knight but she rebuffed him saying she was celebate
- >As a result she has taken to traveling by your side throwing disgusted glances at the trio and muttering dark things
- >You don't really notice
- >You're too preoccupied with looking on your rent maile and mourning at how much it will cost to fix
- >You eye your friend again
- >He got his armour fixed free of charge for being the "Hero"
- >You had to pay if you wanted yours fixed
- >And so you went without
- >Figures
- >"So, who is your... friend?"
- >What?
- >You look up to see the mage eyeing you dubiously
- >"Ah, that's Dietrich, he's been my friend since childhood!"
- >She looks away and snorts derisively
- >"I see, I thought he was some common thug you had recruited along the road, he has the look of one."
- >You briefly consider how much trouble you'd be in for planting your axe between her shoulders
- >Probably a little
- >Won't stop from thinking of how good it would feel
- >You spot the wolf also looking at you strangely before she turns her gaze away and begins talking to the mage
- >Well it's a plus you guess
- >Last time she didn't even acknowledge you were a person
- >In the distance you can hear the sound of steel striking steel
- >Well, todays entertainment is here it seems
- >You grab your axe and shield and take off at a cautious loping stride towards the noise
