  1. >I've been wandering around with this dumbshit for 5 days
  2. >He still hasn't decided where to go
  3. >Damn him
  4. >"Ah, friend, could you wait here? I have to help this fair maiden real quick!"
  5. >He left me alone in a rundown bar full of murderers
  6. >So he could "Help" a prostitute
  7. >They draw various daggers
  8. >Meh
  9. >You wonder how you still hang by his side through all this bullshit
  10. >At least you get to loot corpses...
  11. >The dumbshit probably doesn't even know how many bodies you've stopped from killing him
  12. >Oh well...
  13. >It's been another 5 days
  14. >You've left that shitty town
  15. >But not before leaving a trail of corpses behind
  16. >Your friend is still oblivious to how many people you've murdered so he can stay alive
  17. >Meh
  18. >You two are walking down the road heading towards some sort of free city a few days travel
  19. >an arrow thunks into your shoulder
  20. >Why is it always you...
  21. >Coming out of a copse of trees are some burly men led by a woman
  22. >She's a Wolf girl
  23. >Fuck
  24. >The dumbass is already running to fight her
  25. >That leaves you to fight the other two
  26. >You rush at one of them trying to get your shield up
  27. >Having the arrow in your shoulder hinders you a bit
  28. >You smash into the first man and slam your axe into his face while he is on the ground
  29. >The second man yells and slams into you, knocking you to the ground and snapping the arrow
  30. >After a few minutes of struggling you've finaly managed to get astride him and proceed to reduce his face into a bloody smear with your helmet
  31. >Fights over
  32. >Friend is talking to the Wolf girl
  33. >He doesn't even have a scratch on him
  34. >The Wolf is blushing and laughing
  35. >You're covered in blood
  36. >You hate adventuring sometimes...
  37.
  38.
  39.
  40. >It's been two days since you met the Wolf girl
  41. >Two days with them of non stop flirting
  42. >It's growing annoying
  43. >You sigh
  44. >"So, who's that guy? He looks kinda unsightly..."
  45. >You frown
  46. >You're covered in specs of blood and most of your body is bruised
  47. >Your axe is notched from all the killing you've been doing recently
  48. >You have also not been sleeping well, your friend doesn't like to stand watch
  49. >"Ah, that's Dietrich, I grew up with him! He decided to come along with me on my grand adventure, I figured I might as well be a good friend and let him tag along for a bit."
  50. >You gaze back at them with a dead soulless gaze
  51. >He's lucky his mother used to take care of you
  52. >After a few more hours you can finally see the city up ahead
  53. >You're really looking forward to getting a drink.. Or several.
  54. >All of you are stopped at the gates
  55. >The guards finally wave you past after staring at your battered and bloodied form uneasily
  56. >You reach the tavern and procure a room for yourself and your friend
  57. >You finally sit back and sigh, signaling the barmaid for a drink
  58. >The Wolf Girl has dragged your companion over to another table where some fancy looking woman in a robe is sipping some kind of drink
  59. >They seem to know eachother
  60. >The barmaid finally brings you your drink, placing it before you with a smile
  61. >You smile back with a muttered thanks and hand her some coins
  62. >it's going to be a hell of a night, you can feel it
  63.
  64.
  65. >it's been a few hours
  66. >Your friend has gone to sleep
  67. >The wolf girl went with him
  68. >The other woman he was talking to also left
  69. >You signaled the barmaid and asked for a key to a separate room a bit ago
  70. >A few more hours pass with you having gone up and placed your gear in the room
  71. >You go back down and have another drink
  72. >It is now pitch black outside
  73. >The lights in the tavern have also dimmed
  74. >You get up and make your way up stairs once more
  75. >You pass by your friends room
  76. >Luckily no noise emanates from it
  77. >You finally reach your room and stop
  78. >You notice a faint glow inside
  79. >You open the door slightly and peek inside
  80. >A cloaked figure is hunched over your belongings, rifling through them
  81. >It has a tail with a dim flame growing from it
  82. >You open the door all the way and step inside
  83. >"Who are you, and why are you in my room?"
  84. >There's a curse and the figure turns toward you
  85. >You can't see much under the small cloaked hood but you can make out the scales covering the persons arms and the sharp claws she has for hands and feet
  86. >Suddenly she lunges at you
  87. >You curse and raise your booted foot and lash out with a kick to it's midriff
  88. >It's like kicking a stone wall
  89. >The person stumbles back a bit and you take your chance to barrel into them
  90.
  91.
  92.
  93. >It's time to fight dirty
  94. >You grab the hood of the cloak and pull it down over the persons face as you quickly bring their head down onto your knee
  95. >There's a satisfying crack and a snarl before you're flung backwards
  96. >You crash to the floor and quickly get to your feet
  97. >The figure has now taken off their cloak
  98. >It is an older looking woman, covered in scales of a reddish orange hue
  99. >Her yellow slit eyes glare darkly at you as blood pours down her face from a broken nose
  100. >With another snarl she charges you, swiping with her claw, you try to jump back but slam into the wall
  101. >Her claws leave bloody furrows in your flesh
  102. >She goes to swipe again, but you dive past her to the middle of the room
  103. >She quickly turns to follow you
  104. >You duck another swipe and put a jab right into her nose again
  105. >She screams, clutching her face and kicks you towards the window
  106. >You manage to stop from plummeting through it but only just
  107. >Throughout the fight you don't notice the room becoming brighter, or the slight panting come from the woman
  108. >Before you can move away from the window she's already in front of you
  109. >Her hands wrap around your throat, squeezing tight
  110. >Her face inches closer to yours, her breath hitting your face in hot pants while a manic gleam is in her eyes
  111. >Slowly running out of breath you do the only thing you can think of
  112. >Instead of trying to dislodge her, you bring her closer and make yourself tumble through the window, smashing the glass with your back
  113. >There is a brief moment of vertigo before you both smack into the ground
  114. >You both lay there panting
  115. >You think your ribs are broken
  116. >With a groan, she stands up and starts making her way towards you, that same manic glow in her eyes while her tail blazes brightly
  117. >You hear distant shouting and running
  118. >She looks up and down the alley you've fallen in and snarls
  119. >She looks back to you and finally speaks
  120. >"This isn't over!"
  121. >You pass out shortly after watching her run away
  122.
  123.
  124. >You wake up
  125. >You groan, your entire body aches
  126. >You try to remember where you are
  127. >All you can remember is getting into a fight and falling out of a window
  128. >Someone clears their throat in the room
  129. >You look over to see a woman with red hair, tan skin amd a face that has small faded scars
  130. >She wearing scale maile and has a sword on her hip
  131. >"Are you well, sir?"
  132. >You are confused
  133. >"Who are you?"
  134. >"My name is Cassandra, I am a Knight Errant, I was the one who discovered you and drove off your attacker."
  135. >She has a serious stare as she looks at you
  136. >You're too tired for this
  137. >"Another man also stopped by, he left you this."
  138. >She hands you a folded letter
  139. >You read it
  140. >Hey, Dietrich, had to leave and help Lupa's friend, can you believe she is a sorceress? Anyways, we went towards the next town a few days away, doctors said you'd be out for a day or so and I didn't want to wait. When you wake up hurry and follow, we'll stay around the town for a few days, good luck ha ha.
  141. >That little shit left you here
  142. >God dammit
  143. >You move to sit up when a hand presses you down
  144. >It's the knight
  145. >She has a cold expression on her face
  146. >"You shouldn't be moving so soon after being injured."
  147. >You gently push her hand aside and sit up
  148. >You hiss at the burning pain in your chest and clench your teeth
  149. >You take stock of your self and find that you are still in your briefs from last night
  150. >The rest of your clothing is gone
  151. >The knight is still glaring at you
  152. >"Where are my clothes?"
  153. >She scoffs and moves over to a chair grabbing your untill now unseen clothing
  154. >She comes back and hands them to you
  155. >The shirt is easiest
  156. >The pants are going to be harder
  157. >You sigh
  158. >That little shit is lucky his mother loves him
  159.
  160. >You had finally managed to get your pants on
  161. >The Scylla nurse had come in to check on you to make sure you were ok
  162. >She had an adorable hat
  163. >You are now being helped back to the tavern to collect your things
  164. >The Knight slowly but steadly guides you
  165. >"I don't need a nursemaid, woman, I said I'll be fine..."
  166. >She throws you that cold glance again
  167. >"It is the duty of a knight to ensure the safty of the peasantry."
  168. >You frown
  169. >You had said you were fine on your own
  170. >Wait
  171. >Did she just call you a peasant?
  172. >Bitch
  173. >You finally arrive at the tavern and make your way to your door
  174. >You open it and are greeted by a surprise
  175. >Your Maile armour is layed across your bed as is your axe
  176. >You move over slowly to inspect them
  177. >The knight goes and stands beside the door
  178. >Your maile shirt has been polished and some of the broken links repaired
  179. >Your worn leather boots also have a new sheen to them some of its holes now patched
  180. >Your once notched axe has also been polished and sharpened and now gleams dully in the weak light of the morning
  181. >There is a folded note on your shield
  182. >I look forward to meeting you again. Consider this my gift to you for a wonderful time that night. I'll be watching you.
  183. >You frown and fold the note back up
  184. >You frown some more as you realize your gold pouch is missing
  185. >The Salamander must have stolen it
  186. >Dammit
  187. >The knight finally speaks up
  188. >"Is something wrong?"
  189. >You sigh
  190. >"Can you help me put on my armour?"
  191. >It's going to be a long day
  192.
  193. >You're slowly walking down the road
  194. >It's been two days since your "Friend" left you behind
  195. >All so he could go "Help" some small village in the middle of bumfuck nowhere
  196. >The Knight Errant is still with you
  197. >She had explained to you when you were leaving that,as she was Errant she had nowhere else to be and your quest seemed a good one
  198. >All while managing to call you an "Uncouth peasant" there were other words too but they seemed too fancy to be insults
  199. >Or were they?
  200. >Meh
  201. >You finally arrived at the outskirts of the village
  202. >What you thought at first was smoke from chimneys are thatched roof cotteges on fire
  203. >Oh, ok
  204. >You and the knight race to the village and as you get closer you hear the sounds of fighting
  205. >Coming to the village center you see a furious melee slowly devolving into a slaughter
  206. >Fighting in the center of it is your friend
  207. >He's fighting against some giant bearded man wearing patchwork armour
  208. >He's also getting destroyred
  209. >Figures
  210.
  211.
  212. >Beside you you hear a yell as the knight charges into the scrum with her sword
  213. >Time to get to work
  214. >You charge towards the group clustered around the giant and plant your axe into a mans spine with a wet crunch
  215. >The knight slams into the man next to him and runs him through
  216. >Wth those men out of the way you finally have a clear shot at Beardman
  217. >Your friend is on the ground clutching his arm, blood slowly pooling down it
  218. >Beardman is taunting him, laughing
  219. >That's a mistake
  220. >The first thing your dad taught you when you up a sword at ten was to kill your man and move on
  221. >And so you do
  222. >Your axe comes slamming down on to the back of the mans skull, cleaving through his leather hood and killing him
  223. >You jerk it out and move on to the group of men clutching spears and trying to desperately keep the other bandits away from a chapel
  224.
  225.
  226.
  227. >Twenty minutes later
  228. >The fight is done
  229. >You're covered in blood and the town square is a charnel house smelling of blood, shit and piss
  230. >Meh
  231. >The sorceress is fussing over your friends arm small tears in her eyes
  232. >The wolf girl is going on about how brave he was
  233. >The town people are also praising him for his help defeating the bandit leader
  234. >You and the knight seem to be largely forgotten
  235. >5 more minutes later and everyone is cleaning up, you didn't see where the three idiots got off too but you have an idea
  236. >You look around at the blood covered square
  237. >you frown
  238. >Bodies lie cooling in the sun and broken blades and shields litter the ground
  239. >You stare at the horrified expressions on their faces
  240. >Killing is never easy
  241. >There is a tug on your maile
  242. >A small girl is holding a flower up to you with teasr in her eyes as she thanks you
  243. >It's never easy, but, sometimes it's worth it
  244. >You pat her head with your blood stained glove as you take the flower
  245.
  246.
  247.
  248.
  249.
  250.
  251. >It's been another two days
  252. >two days of walking down a road with no end in site
  253. >Your friend is flirting with the mage and wolf the entire time
  254. >He tried flirting with the knight but she rebuffed him saying she was celebate
  255. >As a result she has taken to traveling by your side throwing disgusted glances at the trio and muttering dark things
  256. >You don't really notice
  257. >You're too preoccupied with looking on your rent maile and mourning at how much it will cost to fix
  258. >You eye your friend again
  259. >He got his armour fixed free of charge for being the "Hero"
  260. >You had to pay if you wanted yours fixed
  261. >And so you went without
  262. >Figures
  263. >"So, who is your... friend?"
  264. >What?
  265. >You look up to see the mage eyeing you dubiously
  266. >"Ah, that's Dietrich, he's been my friend since childhood!"
  267. >She looks away and snorts derisively
  268. >"I see, I thought he was some common thug you had recruited along the road, he has the look of one."
  269. >You briefly consider how much trouble you'd be in for planting your axe between her shoulders
  270. >Probably a little
  271. >Won't stop from thinking of how good it would feel
  272. >You spot the wolf also looking at you strangely before she turns her gaze away and begins talking to the mage
  273. >Well it's a plus you guess
  274. >Last time she didn't even acknowledge you were a person
  275. >In the distance you can hear the sound of steel striking steel
  276. >Well, todays entertainment is here it seems
  277. >You grab your axe and shield and take off at a cautious loping stride towards the noise
