  3. [2015-01-07 13:07:40] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright asks, "Sounds? She was in there all right, we found her jacket glued remember? And I think she made it out, at least long enough to write down what happened in there. I think we should stop those gargoyles."
  4. [2015-01-07 13:07:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3CopyCat nods. "I think you're right. For Daring Do's sake, we can bring them down."
  5. [2015-01-07 13:08:11] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright agrees. "Now I guess we have to ask the captain to please help us kill these things but without turning blowing them into smithereens with the cannons."
  6. [2015-01-07 13:08:21] <Mare-Do-Well> 3CopyCat smiles sweetly. "If we target their wings then they'll drop like... gargoyles missing a wing."

  8. [2015-01-07 13:08:32] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Noble_Heart frowns. "We doubt that such heavy artillery would be needed. These are not swarms of gargoyles at the mansion. These are a small patrol."

  10. [2015-01-07 13:08:51] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright answers, "They're carrying what is almost certainly the last, or one of the last tags, and they're not a location, so it must be some /thing/ interesting they're carrying."
  11. [2015-01-07 13:09:01] <Mare-Do-Well> 3CopyCat pokes at Golden_Dream's PipBuck. "Because they have a bleepy thing." CC looks Golden_Dream dead in the eyes. "I /want/ the bleepy thing."
  12. [2015-01-07 13:09:08] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream feels /really/ weird about this whole thing. "Err. Well, I don't exactly got anything too terribly long range, and bullets don't work too well on 'em. We sure they don't got no minds left?"

  18. [2015-01-07 13:14:43] * Golden_Dream looks, eyes half-lidded, to Mare-Do-Well to be a concurring voice of reason. "MDW, ain't it silly t' just start huntin' horrifyin' things down to..." He pauses when she spots her expression. "Shit, is everythin' alright? Y' look like you've seen... Err."
  19. [2015-01-07 13:15:30] * CopyCat draws her revolver and starts waving it around. "Let us hunt horrifying things!" she exclaims enthusiastically.
  20. [2015-01-07 13:19:08] * Mare-Do-Well 3looks up to Golden_Dream as if coming out of a daze. "uh... yeah... sorry. Memories. Damn."
  21. [2015-01-07 13:21:31] * Bookwright "Golden, you need to warn me the next time you make a pun like that. I had my weapon halfway out the holster before I realized you probably hadn't been replaced with a changeling or something."
  22. [2015-01-07 13:25:56] * Golden_Dream grits her teeth, eyes wide and avoiding eye contact with anyone around. "Err. Yeah, let's, uh. Let's just pretend I never said that." She muttered. "... Anyway, we need a plan other than 'let's shoot 'em bunches'. It'll be wasteful t' just pour shot after shot on rock hide."
  23. [2015-01-07 13:28:02] * Golden_Dream thinks. "Don't we got that cannon strapped to the wagon?"
  24. [2015-01-07 13:28:11] * CopyCat nods slowly. "Perhaps the pirates will help us? They did say their cannons were multitudinous and impressive."
  25. [2015-01-07 13:32:50] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The gargoyles continue to fly away, moving down the gorge, seemingly oblivious to the presence of the airship.
  26. [2015-01-07 13:34:23] * CopyCat ponders aloud. "I'm just saying that if we attract the gargoyles attention then suddenly it becomes the pirates problem as well. And so they will have to help us!"
  27. [2015-01-07 13:36:03] * Golden_Dream folds her front legs. "I ain't keen on pissing off some pirates. Let's call that plan 'b'. Let's grab th' wagon and get 'em with the mounted thing. Unless anyone has any better ideas?"
  28. [2015-01-07 13:36:13] * Bookwright waggles his gun uselessly. "Maybe if we shoot at them?"
  29. [2015-01-07 13:36:45] * Bookwright "Well... They're tagged somehow, right? Can we just find them with a pipbuck?"\
  30. [2015-01-07 13:39:35] * Get_Lost frowns "can't we simply ignore those partypooper statues and go on with our business?"
  31. [2015-01-07 13:40:49] * Noble_Heart tilts her head to one side. "We could simply attack them? We have shattered statues before."
  32. [2015-01-07 13:41:22] * CopyCat cheers at Noble_Heart. "Exactly!" and waves her gun around again.
  33. [2015-01-07 13:41:53] * Get_Lost "are we sure that they're hostiles?"
  34. [2015-01-07 13:43:02] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Hedum notes, "They're flying away. I don't think they even know we are here. Sure, the /Cutlass/ could turn them to rubble... but why invite trouble. Or waste the shot?"
  35. [2015-01-07 13:45:00] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Hedum looks at Bookwright and raises an eyebrow. "You can track them? Why would you want to?"
  36. [2015-01-07 13:45:25] * CopyCat cocks her head at Hedum. "B-b-but, cuddly zebra colt, they have something beepy!" She pouts. "I say we start shooting now. Or if we can track them get the firewagon and then start the shoosting."
  37. [2015-01-07 13:46:59] * Bookwright "Because they've got pony technology on them, somehow. And they shouldn't. And that's interesting to us."
  38. [2015-01-07 13:48:31] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Hedum shrugs and looks at Golden_Dream
  39. [2015-01-07 13:49:14] * Golden_Dream rubs the back of her mane. "Hey, Hedum. How do you take bein' flown around someplace?"
  40. [2015-01-07 13:49:42] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Meanwhile, the pirates are beginning to move about the ship. One of them trots up to Hedum and prods him, speaking in zebra. Hedum nods and trots off for the belowdecks.
  41. [2015-01-07 13:50:50] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Hedum pauses and looks back to Golden_Dream, "I've got chores to do." He looks at the ship. "I'm flown around all the time. Air pirate, remember?"
  42. [2015-01-07 13:52:14] * Golden_Dream notes to herself, "Yeah, I remember. But bein' on th' back of someone flyin' around and bein' an Air Pirate are two real different feels." She looks a little bit sad to see him go. "Well. Alright. See you when we get back?"
  43. [2015-01-07 13:52:29] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Hedum nods.
  44. [2015-01-07 13:55:39] * Golden_Dream smiles a little, then gets ready to leap up on a willing back. "I ain't a real good shot with th' zappy stuff. It's too little about judgin' th' drop of th' bullet and linin' up the shot and too much keepin' an eye on yer weapon t' see if it's ready t' shoot."
  45. [2015-01-07 14:00:53] * Golden_Dream looks around. "We bring th' wagon around, then we put Bookie on th' gun."
  46. [2015-01-07 14:03:57] * CopyCat pouts. Reckless violence was going to have to wait. "Very well. We defeat the gargoyles with our wagon and then we can reunite with the pirates at this Silo place. So we may collect our working gollem from them."
  47. [2015-01-07 14:05:15] * Get_Lost frowns "i'm not really into shooting stuff... maybe it would be a better idea if i stayed with the pirates and met you at the silos?"
  48. [2015-01-07 14:05:44] * Bookwright "That would give you a chance to do more dental work, right? Sure, why not?"
  49. [2015-01-07 14:05:54] * Golden_Dream lifts an eyebrow. "You sure you wanna stay here, Get?"
  50. [2015-01-07 14:08:37] * CopyCat tilts her head at Get_Lost. "That... may be a good idea. Golden_Dream's magic leg will be able to track you, and by extension, the airship."
  51. [2015-01-07 14:09:27] * Golden_Dream frowns, and then shrugs. "Stay safe." She muttered, hopping up on Noble. "We gotta git! We don't wanna lose 'em?"
  52. [2015-01-07 14:10:01] * Get_Lost shrugs "idon0t think you'll need my help with those things..." looks at her shoulders "on the other side, as a medic, i have a lot of work here..."
  53. [2015-01-07 14:11:50] * Mare-Do-Well 3also looks at Get_Lost with concern. "Are you sure?"
  54. [2015-01-07 14:12:46] * Mare-Do-Well 3adds, "But what if there are more parts to Daring Do's story?"
  55. [2015-01-07 14:14:19] * Get_Lost "well, you have a pipbuck with you anyway, and it won't be a long affair, i guess... in the meantime, parlay would learn some decent zebra, i hope"
  56. [2015-01-07 14:16:03] * Mare-Do-Well 3nods, but looks a little sad. "See you soon." Get_Lost and Golden_Dream are the two she senses the strongest connections with... they are, at least, the ones that can (normally) sense her most easily.
  57. [2015-01-07 14:17:03] * Get_Lost "have fun shooting rocks!" smiles and wavs a hoof
  58. [2015-01-07 14:18:42] * Golden_Dream gets on top of Noble_Heart. "Alright, let's get t' gettin' already!"
  59. [2015-01-07 14:19:08] * Noble_Heart nods her head and spreads her wings. "We shall show them that they are but pebbles!" She takes to the air.
  60. [2015-01-07 14:19:25] * Shatara exists.
  61. [2015-01-07 14:20:08] * Mare-Do-Well 3looks at Shatara. "You coming?"
  62. [2015-01-07 14:21:08] * CopyCat smiles at Get_Lost and spreads her wings. "We'll be back soon. Try not to get into /too/ much trouble while we're gone."
  63. [2015-01-07 14:22:01] * Bookwright "Um, can one of you two fancy-schmancy princesses help me down?"
  64. [2015-01-07 14:22:13] <Mare-Do-Well> 3((Side note: Parlay translated, "Hey, the Captain orders you to grab some grub and clean up the mess. Better get a mop. Zontha had too much to drink."

  66. [2015-01-07 14:23:58] * Noble_Heart was already carrying Golden Dream. She moved to dive below the ship and follow the stone flying zebras. "CopyCat can help you. We already have a passenger."
  67. [2015-01-07 14:24:36] * Bookwright smiles awkwardly at CopyCat. "Give a guy a hoof...?"
  68. [2015-01-07 14:27:01] * CopyCat giggles and bends down. "All aboard, Bookie. The in-flight movie is Walking with Couatls."
  69. [2015-01-07 14:27:40] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright's couatl gives an odd little hiss.
  70. [2015-01-07 14:28:18] * Bookwright grins. "CopyCat, couatls /fly./ Even you should know that!"
  71. [2015-01-07 14:33:18] * Golden_Dream pulls up the map to the wagon. "Y'wanna pitch right and start headin' fer that one weird lookin' tree that looks like somethin' Bookie would giggle at and Shatara would get all blushy about once I said that."
  72. [2015-01-07 14:34:32] * CopyCat takes off once Bookwright has joined her, swiftly flying after Noble_Heart and Golden_Dream.
  73. [2015-01-07 14:35:13] * Noble_Heart blinks. "Alright." She wheels to the side and continues in the direction Golden Dream directed her towards.
  74. [2015-01-07 14:37:45] * Bookwright "Yay! Flying!"
  75. [2015-01-07 14:37:48] * Get_Lost as soon as the oother are gome, the mare goes back to her medical business
  76. [2015-01-07 14:41:34] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The gargoyles continue, apparently unaware. The creatures are still in possession of the trappings of their former lives. The light zebra armor they wear, designed for flyers, has suffered considerably over the centuries. Each carries weapons -- a rifle, sword and spear -- whether they remember enough to use them or not. Saddlebags hang from their backs.
  77. [2015-01-07 14:43:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3As Noble_Heart turns, Golden_Dream gets a fair glimpse at the rifle strapped to one of the zebras, and the condition would make a gun-lover cringe. Even if the monsters retained the skill to use the weapons, they clearly didn't have the faculties to maintenance them. The rifles, at least, were beyond rubbish.
  78. [2015-01-07 14:48:34] * Golden_Dream narrows her eyes as they mount up the wagon presumably! "... You know, that one with th' rifle, I'm pretty durned sure that them things ain't supposed t' be an open bolt gun. Pretty sure they're supposed t' have sights on /top/ of th' gun, too."
  79. [2015-01-07 14:53:04] * CopyCat lands at the wagon and sets Bookwright down. "Here you go Bookie. Now get your big cannon ready while I strap myself in."
  80. [2015-01-07 14:54:16] * Bookwright yanks brush and leaves off the wagon. "Wow, they really buried this thing good." He sets up and primes the twilight cannon.
  81. [2015-01-07 14:58:50] * CopyCat wriggles into her princess harness and smiles at Noble_Heart beside her. "Is everypony ready?"
  82. [2015-01-07 15:00:43] * Golden_Dream narrows her eyes. "I /think/ that might an old Type 4. I /think/." She shakes her head. "Yeah, I'm ready. Y'all ready?"
  83. [2015-01-07 15:10:51] * Noble_Heart nods her head and frowns. "We are as ready as We will get."
  84. [2015-01-07 15:13:26] * Bookwright listens to the whine of charging capacitors. "This thing is as ready as it's gonna be."
  85. [2015-01-07 15:15:31] * Get_Lost sits in her chair and starts taking notes between a visit and a dental work. keeeps herself busy
  86. [2015-01-07 15:15:40] * CopyCat spreads her wings and takes off with Noble_Heart. "Let's go hunt some statues!"
  87. [2015-01-07 15:16:55] * Noble_Heart nods her head, heading back towards the gargoyles.
  88. [2015-01-07 15:21:23] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The gargoyles have traveled a fair ways down the gorge. As the party catches back up, they see the petrified flying zebras swoop up out of the canyon and bank towards the rubble of an ancient zebra warlord fortress. The once indomitable stone structure looks to have been torn apart by an earthquake ages ago. Now plants grow all over the shattered stones.
  89. [2015-01-07 15:22:41] <Mare-Do-Well> 3"Talikon," Mare-Do-Well whispers, flying next to Golden_Dream and Noble_Heart.
  90. [2015-01-07 15:23:18] * Noble_Heart looks towards Mare-Do-Well, "A place with which you are familiar?"
  91. [2015-01-07 15:23:23] * Golden_Dream jumps a little. "Tali-whuh?"
  92. [2015-01-07 15:24:35] * Mare-Do-Well 3nods. "I've been there. With Daring Do."
  93. [2015-01-07 15:24:42] * Bookwright "Whatever it is, there are probably more gargoyles in there. We should shoot now."
  94. [2015-01-07 15:27:43] * Golden_Dream quietly slings out her shotgun. "When you're ready."
  95. [2015-01-07 15:30:11] * Shatara readies his rifle
  96. [2015-01-07 15:34:25] * CopyCat magically waves her revolver around!
  97. [2015-01-07 15:35:12] * Noble_Heart nods her head. "We are prepared."
  98. [2015-01-07 15:35:15] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The ponies close to medium range, the gargoyles still paying them no attention.
  99. [2015-01-07 15:37:57] * Bookwright draws a bead on the last gargoyle and triggers the behemoth that is the Twilight Cannon
  100. [2015-01-07 16:08:34] * Noble_Heart raises her head as her horn glows, brilliant lightning lancing outwards in the wake of Bookwright's assault to assail one of those weakened by it.
  101. [2015-01-07 16:10:58] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The last gargoyle in the flight formation drops out of the air, electricity crackling over the stone.
  102. [2015-01-07 16:16:02] * CopyCat takes aim at the gargoyle when had been beside the one Noble_Heart attacked, which had been directly hit by Bookwright's cannon, and fires twice at its left wing.
  103. [2015-01-07 16:58:12] * Bookwright aims this time at the gargoyle in the center of the formation.
  104. [2015-01-07 17:06:14] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The blast from Twilight's Thunder spreads out to engulf all of the gargoyles, save for the one who has fallen and can't get up.
  105. [2015-01-07 17:06:50] * Golden_Dream calls out. "Alright, folks. I think that we might'a got 'em!"
  106. [2015-01-07 17:09:08] * Bookwright "I just hope that the stuff we want isn't getting disintegrated along with the baddies."
  107. [2015-01-07 17:14:58] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Noble_Heart's spell misfires... badly. Arcane energies erupt about her, arcs of lightning striking across her and her passenger.
  108. [2015-01-07 17:20:17] * CopyCat flattens her ears as Noble's spell goes wrong! Biting her lip, she takes aim at the same gargoyle she had shot before. Two wing-shots coming up!
  109. [2015-01-07 17:29:02] * Golden_Dream clenches down on Noble when the arc lightning hit her. She didn't expect that. She didn't particularly care for it. Her hooves were shaky, like the bones in her body were trying to vibrate out of her skin. Because of this feeling, she may have over reacted. "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT, NOBLE? Get yer' horn in fuckin' gear, this is your damn fight, aim fuckin' straight!"
  110. [2015-01-07 17:39:55] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The five remaining gargoyles break and attack, swooping around and flying directly at the party.
  111. [2015-01-07 17:51:38] * Golden_Dream starts firing off shell after shell. This was extremely wasteful, and she knew it. But it was the only measure she had to push them away from Noble.
  112. [2015-01-07 18:00:23] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Two of the gargoyles fly at Noble_Heart and Golden_Dream, only to get faces and wings full of buckshot. The spray of pellets does nothing substantial to them, chipping and scratching at the surface of the living stones.
  113. [2015-01-07 18:00:54] <Mare-Do-Well> 3But one of the gargoyles is knocked back by the blast hard enough to disorient it. A critical miscalculation in its effort to regain control of its flight sends it crashing into the jungle canopy. It disappears into the jungle below.
  114. [2015-01-07 18:03:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The four remaining gargoyles swiftly prove to be more capable combatants than initially surmised, drawing up their spears in their tails and striking with them while simultaneously attacking with their heavy stone hooves.
  115. [2015-01-07 18:04:57] <Mare-Do-Well> 3One of those attacking Bookwright attempts to tackle him off of the firewagon.
  116. [2015-01-07 18:07:23] * Golden_Dream 's eyes fall as the one gargoyle meets dirt, at least. "Who else wants t' meet th' ground?" She knew she didn't have anything here, these buckshot shells weren't supposed to breach reinforced concrete, they were supposed to deal with fleshy targets. But, you know. To all that can't fight, clear the way for those who can.
  117. [2015-01-07 18:14:42] * Bookwright 's eyes widen as the gargoyles swoop at him. He abandons the controls of the weapon momentarily and ducks, managing to avoid being tackled off the firewagon... but mere thin air is not enough to shield him from the heavy stone hooves of the other.
  118. [2015-01-07 18:16:06] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The gargoyles throw their blows, none of them striking true with each, but only the attempted tackler missing entirely. Now, however, they are in pegasus fighting with the ponies, able to match them in speed and maneuverability. Their tactic seems clear: by closing to hoof's length with their attackers, they can make it difficult to bring firearms to bear.
  119. [2015-01-07 18:16:49] <Mare-Do-Well> 3And they are experts at close-quarters fighting, showing terrifying rote memory of their elite guard training.
  120. [2015-01-07 18:18:25] <Mare-Do-Well> 3(( Notes for next session: PC's turn next. Point Blank bonuses/penalties apply for ranged weapons. Gargoyles each have a banked parry. ))
  121. [2015-01-07 18:18:46] <Mare-Do-Well> 3(( XP will be awarded post-combat next session. ))
  122. [2015-01-07 18:18:50] * CopyCat shrieks as heavy stone hooves strike her Shatara-made crystal armour. This close they'd be hard to fight. Especially while towing the wagon. But there was one means of quickly gaining some distance...
