274.

 275.
Growing up in a very traditional Asian household, Chaz had many expectations that were set for him by his parents. They were typical sort of expectations that were the same for his older brother. The thing was, however, that unlike his older brother, Chaz just couldn’t seem to be able to meet them. In the Hoo family, Ivy League schools and talk about studying medicine to become a doctor were every day conversations during dinner time. Those were the types of things that were expected of the Hoo boys. But while his brother was off being exactly what his parents wanted him to be, Chaz was struggling to gain their approval. He always seemed to come a little short and was just never good enough to gain that praise that his brother seemed to so easily get. But it was a good thing that it didn’t stop Chaz’s strong determination of being himself because there was nothing more that Chaz wanted in the end than to continue being who he was.

 276.
 277.
Things became harder between Chaz and his parents when he met Avery James. He fell for the girl the instant he saw her in between classes during high school. Even if his parents already didn't have high hopes for him, Avery wasn't the kind of girl his parents wanted him to date, but it wasn't like he cared. He never listened to them anyway.

 278.
 279.
As the two started to date, they really did look like the picture perfect high school sweethearts. When Avery dropped the bombshell that she was pregnant, sixteen year old Chaz knew his life was going to change drastically from there. After telling his parents, instead of being met with support, he was kicked out of his home. Without the support from either of their families, he knew he needed to drop out of high school in order to get two jobs so he could support Avery and their new baby. It was hard for him at first, and continued to be hard, but after some time, it just became his life - something he got used to. Settling in a one bedroom apartment, Bridget was born and Chaz vowed to work hard every day to provide for his little girl.

 280.
 281.
Despite how much he worked and how many times he worked over time for both jobs, the money he made was never enough, especially when their debt starting to pile up more and more as the time went by. He knew that Avery was developing a shopping habit, but even despite that, he never once scolded her about it. He just kept taking on the responsibility to handle it himself. Times were tough and he couldn't fault her for going overboard. He just sometimes wished she had seen the error of her ways early on.

 282.
 283.
Even with all the problems they had to deal with, Chaz still believed that they were as happy as they could be. So, when he woke up one morning to find his girlfriend missing with only a letter left behind, he was absolutely crushed. From then on, Chaz never heard from Avery, but when he suddenly saw his bank account filled with money he would never be able to obtain on his own while their debts were cleared out, he knew it was her doing. Still, no amount of money would ever be enough for him to forgive her for what she had done.

 284.
 285.
Over the years, Chaz used the money strictly for Bridget. Whenever he came up short for new diapers or new clothes or when she needed some doctor check ups, he would dip into that money and it was only for that. It was basically Bridget's fund because he wanted nothing to do with that. With all the debts now gone, it became a little easier on Chaz to pay for the bills. He eventually got a better job as a cook at a nearby restaurant and once Bridget was old enough to need her own room, they moved to a small two bedroom apartment once he was able to afford it. Six years he went on without Avery and he was finally managing how to get it together for the sake of his daughter.
