As some of you may know, my first hiatus from showdown was due to several events in my life, most notably graduating high school and moving to a college dorm in order to take classes during the summer. I had not originally intended to come back to showdown, as I had also applied for a work studies program (basically I would work at the campus library, in exchange for a reduction in tuition fees). I was told after submitting my application that there weren't any positions currently available, and that it was highly unlikely for one to open up. So, I ended coming back to showdown, confident in my assumption that I would stick around for another year or so. Well, it turns out last Friday I was contacted by someone from the financial aid office, telling me that one of the former students responsible for shelving and book returns had just graduated (as he also took summer classes to finish his credit requirements), so I ended up getting the position. It's pretty embarrassing having to leave for a second time, but I can assure you, this one's for good. I'd like to thank both the staff and the CT room as a whole for being so welcoming to new users, especially immature new users such as myself almost three years ago (I still haven't matured lol). I wish all of you the best of luck in the future.
