  1. > a curious thing happened after the war with the griffons
  2. > it all started when Chrys notified me that she could sense the presence of another creature in the caverns below Canterlot
  3. > A search team was dispatched, supplies in tow
  4. > a few days later, I was called from my quarters, and met eye to eye with another human
  5. Yet another human? I suppose your name is Anonymous as well?
  6. > "Unamazing Anonymous, how'd you know?"
  7. > Sarcasm lined his lips as we discussed his coming to me
  8. > "I was fighting through Tartarus, trying to get home"
  9. That would make two humans I have met from Tartarus
  10. > "You were in Tartarus too?"
  11. I brought my army with me
  12. > "Lucky bastard"
  13. > at the end of it all, disrespect or not, I granted him a room to stay in the palace
  14. > we went our separate ways after giving him instructions on how to find his room
  15. > it was only after I had returned to my room that a ruckus had begun
  16. > Not less than an hour spent in the castle, and he was causing problems
  17. > I got up to investigate when a furious pounding came to my door
  18. > "Tsar! Tsar! You gotta let me in!"
  19. > I threw the door open and a terrified Unamazing launched himself into my room
  20. > "It's Cadence, she's gone crazy"
  21. > it had dawned on me that she had just entered her estrus season
  22. > realizing that a sudden shock can bring a mare out of her hormone induced lust, I took hold of my musket
  23. > not long after, Cadence came galloping to my room, she met me eye to eye
  24. > I leveled my musket, and brought the hammer to full cock
  25. Calm down now Cadence, I don't want to hurt you
  26. > she got the message
  27. > she hung her head in embarrassment at having lost control of herself, and slowly walked away
  28. > the Unamazing anon eventually went back in search of his room, only to meet another of the Royal Family
  29. > Celestia had just finished holding a session of the Council of Equestria, and was making her way to the gardens to relax when the other anon ran into her
  30. > "Well hey there Celly!"
  31. uhm...excuse me?
  32. > she blushed slightly and averted her eyes
  33. > "Oh, I'm so sorry, did that bother you? It's a force of habit, I used to call the Celestia from my Equestria Celly. I'll stop if you want?"
  34. > Celestia did not acknowledge his offer, instead walking off, too flustered to continue the conversation
  35. > unhindered by interruptions, the Unamazing Anon finally managed to find his room, where he slept incredibly soundly
  36. > the next morning, he was still asleep when breakfast was served
  37. > no matter what the servants tried, he could not be awoken, so we chose to leave him in bed
  38. > this proved to be an amazing feat, as after breakfast a knock came at the door
  39. > not so much a knock, as a knock down
  40. > a boisterous pink pony broke down the front door, and bounced into the room
  41. > I met her, and demanded an explanation
  42. > "we're gonna have a party silly!"
  43. A party? For what?
  44. > "Well for your baby and the new human of course!"
  45. > my daughter had been born no more than two days ago
  46. > "It'll be a welcome to our world party!"
  47. > she prattled off all the things we would do at the party
  48. > at the end of it all, the castle would serve as the host house, but Pinkie would handle decorations and planning
  49. > this would turn out to be the easier than I anticipated
  50. > she wheeled in a large cannon, brightly decorated in yellows, blues, and pinks
  51. > to my surprise, she fired the cannon inside the palace
  52. > I was expecting destruction, but I received streamers, confetti, even party drinks and games
  53. > truly, this mare was gifted
  54. > Cannon fire from her self-proclaimed "party cannon" lasted into the afternoon
  55. > upon the afternoon silence, yet another explosion was heard, this one emanating from the court yard
  56. > guards rushed past my room, and informed me of a pony magically appearing in the court yard
  57. > she seemed as cheery as the pink one, and went by the name of shadowbright
  58. > Chrys was sent to meet her, I was too deep into paperwork to greet her myself
  59. > Apparently, a travel partner of the Unamazing Anon, she was thrilled to hear of his stay here, and was given the room he was staying in
  60. > she wasted no time in running to go find him, and they mingled in his room for a while, before going to find me, and my precious little daughter
  61. > the grey mare burst into my room, causing me to nearly lose track of my papers
  62. > she immediately lept onto the bed, where Chrys and my daughter, Princess Winter, were laying
  63. > she played with the little newborn, making faces and fiddling with her snout
  64. > the whole scene would be capable of melting even the coldest of hearts
  65. > after a while, the two went to explore the castle, and I lost track of them until the party that night
  66. > the party was fairly childish in nature, sugary foods were laid on the tables, dancing, games such as pin the tail on the donkey
  67. > I stood by Chrys's side the entire time, holding our daughter
  68. > many came to fawn over her, other still were baffled by how exactly a human and a changeling could give birth to a pony
  69. > after a while, I noticed that someone was missing, Princess Luna
  70. > I told Chrysalis of the missing guest, and I asked if I could go and make sure she was alright
  71. > Chrys took Winter from me, and allowed me to leave to Luna's room
  72. > Luna sat quietly in her room, and jumped slightly when I entered
  73. Is everything alright, Princess?
  74. > "Oh yes, everything is fine. I'm just making sure the night runs smoothly"
  75. > her words were reassuring, but her eyes told me they were lies
  76. The party is childish anyway. How about a little drink? I heard the cellar has a new stock of mead ready that I've been dying to try
  77. > an overwhelming look of relief came onto her face at this offer
  78. > "yes, I think I would like that"
  79. > None of the princesses were drinkers, but I knew that she needed the company
  80. > we made our way to the wine cellar, and I went in search of the honey wine
  81. > Luna sat herself at the table, bearing herself happily
  82. > I returned with the wine, and poured us both a glass
  83. > the liquid was slightly thicker than normal wine, and clear, save for a slight greenish tint
  84. > it went down smoothly, a rich sweetness graced my lips, only the slightest hint of alcohol could be tasted
  85. > Luna and I talked casually, the first time I had ever witnessed her not wearing a royal demeanor
  86. It's quite an amazing feat, being able to summon the night
  87. > she blushed slightly
  88. > "It was quite difficult at first. Celestia actually had to help me for quite a few years until I could do it myself. That's how I got this."
  89. > she shifted herself over to reveal her flank, a crescent moon on a night sky graced her coat
  90. I have always adored the night. The silent serenity and calm stillness were always a welcome relief from the hectic chaos of events that go on during the day
  91. > she blushed again, and I poured her another glass
  92. > "was leading Equestria difficult while we were in Tartarus?"
  93. Not to offend you or insult your sister, but the government was ill prepared for the loss of its leaders. The nobles quarreled with each other, and at the same time, the peasantry rose in revolution, searching for a republic. Once I had been voted in by the nobles, I defeated the rebels, and established the Council of Equestria, where the peasantry have the ability to be represented fully.
  94. > "sounds like it was quite difficult"
  95. Inefficiencies were the most difficult. Unpaid taxes, obstinate nobles who refused to recognize crown authority. In the end, I straightened it all out, and now Equestria is more prosperous than it ever was.
  96. > "You certainly have done quite a bit to improve our society"
  97. > we poured ourselves more mead, and toasted to Equestria, among other things
  98. > we continued until the glass had been emptied. I was feeling a tad under the influence
  99. > Luna appeared to not be as clear headed as I
  100. Luna, I must say, your mane is beautiful
  101. > "Do you really think so?"
  102. it is as gorgeous and awesome as the night sky itself
  103. > she blushed, even more heavily than before
  104. I'll be honest Luna. When Nightmare moon came-
  105. > "I hate that cursed mare"
  106. Yes, well, when she came, and you sacrificed yourself, it was painful to see you go. Before I met Chrys, and the universe had been rebuilt, I had been heartbroken. My wife from the past, Rarity, hadn't returned her love as she had before, and I had no one. I was longing to feel what I had once more, with Rarity, and I found it in you.
  107. > "what are you saying?"
  108. There once was a time where I had considered you being at the party right now, holding my child. before I met Chrys, I held feelings for you. I still do to a certain degree.
  109. > she stared deep into my eyes for a moment, calculating her response
  110. > "I would be lying if I didn't say that I felt the same"
  111. > we stared at each other for a moment, and she dove at me
  112. > she took hold of me over the table, grabbing onto me and forcing her lips onto mine
  113. > I offered no resistance
  114. > the moment was something of a relief
  115. > in this kiss were both of our pent up emotion
  116. > the question of what could have been answered at last
  117. > for a brief instant, my passion for Luna returned, and I felt myself falling into the kiss, almost embracing it
  118. > and all too soon, the kiss ended, and with it, my feelings for Luna
  119. > we stood motionless for a few moments, trying to determine just how we both felt about that moment
  120. > we stared into each other's eyes, before I broke the gaze
  121. > I returned to my room in silence, unsure of quite what to do
  122. > I resolved to wait for the alcohol to run its course, before I returned to the party
  123. > during the time, I couldn't take my mind off of the moment
  124. > there was no denying that I enjoyed it, an explosion of long repressed emotion finally released
  125. > but I have a wife now, I can't just toss her aside like that
  126. > the alcohol burned off, and I returned
  127. > Chrys immediately sensed something amiss
  128. > her ability to read my emotions told her all she needed to know
  129. > "Tsar, what happened?"
  130. > I tensed, but realized the inevitability of having to tell about it
  131. Luna and I went into the cellar and had a glass of mead. We talked, and had a good time, but I let it be known to her that I once held feelings for her. She told me she felt the same, and our lips met briefly. I'm so sorry Chrys
  132. > Chrys did not seem the least bit perturbed, and it seemed she could tell that I was genuinely apologetic.
  133. > "Do not let anything come of this"
  134. Of course not, you are my wife and I love you dearly. I would never let anything take that away from me
  135. > "then all is forgiven"
  136. > the party went on, Unamazing and Shadowbright played and laughed. Chrys and I sat with our baby, talking with guests and having fun as well
  137. > By the end of the party, we all went to bed
  138. > the next day I had to catch up on paperwork
  139. > the Unamazing Anonymous had decided that his stay had to be payed for in some way
  140. > he demanded he join me in my work
  141. > I handed him a stack of requests, expenditure charts, and other various papers
  142. > he groaned
  143. > "Why did it have to be paperwork?"
  144. Because this is a government
  145. > he went through the papers in complete silence
  146. > he chimed when he felt satisfied with his work
  147. > "Done!"
  148. > I took the papers and looked through them
  149. > his math was correct, which was a relief to me, calculating expenditures and taxation was always my least favorite part
  150. > his methods of deciding which requests are approved and denied, however, left me wondering
  151. Tell me, Anon. Why do you think it's a good idea that the griffons be allowed uninhibited access to our resources?
  152. > "because you're a benevolent ruler who only wants everyone to be happy?"
  153. > I ignored the question
  154. I cannot afford to give a nation that is on such poor terms with me my resources
  155. > I went through and redid all the request forms
  156. > among his mistakes were allocating 20,000 bits to the military, a request asking that minotaurs must lose one horn so that they can fit in better with unicorns, and enforcing meats to be served in schools
  157. > after that, I had learned to hand him only the math
  158. > he and I worked until around mid-day
  159. > we finished earlier than I had expected, and he was glad to finally be done with it
  160. > "how about we catch some lunch, math makes me hungry"
  161. > despite his lack of finesse, I was growing attached to him
  162. > we went to the dining hall, and the servants tended to us
  163. > "Wow, man! These guys would even zip your fly for you if you wanted them too!"
  164. wait until you see the chefs
  165. > and he was thoroughly surprised when from the kitchen poured a train of dishes
  166. > meats, pastries, potatoes, sea food, everything anyone would ever want to eat came from the kitchen
  167. > he sat, jaw dropped, trying to comprehend the feast laid out before him
  168. > "What should I try first!?"
  169. > before I could answer, he had took hold of a number of foods and began to ferociously devour them
  170. > Shadowbright and Chrys had joined us
  171. > Shadowbright ate with a much less beastly demeanor, but she was still enthusiastic
  172. > the Unamazing anon spoke, mouth still half filled with mashed potatoes and cuts of beef
  173. > "Hey, Tsar, buddy, how come the changeling isn't eating?"
  174. She doesn't eat physical food. She lives off of my love.
  175. > he shrugged and continued to scarf down his meal
  176. > after the meal, we spent the day outside, playing in the open fields
  177. > come evening, we returned to eat our supper, which the Unamazing anon ate with no less passion than lunch
  178. > we settled in for a calm night, and fell to sleep
  179. > come morning, the Unamazing Anonymous and Shadowbright had vanished
  180. > no trace of their departure, and no guards report them leaving during the night
  181. > I sighed, another companion lost
