  1. Sector GUIDLINES
  2.
  3.
  4. 1. Create ownership of the ground rules.
  5. Always own up to both your accomplishments and mistakes. Without this, you could miss out on your potential skill raising awareness. As for owning up to the mistakes, this is how you obtain better communication and character skills. Derpsec is here for each other as a collective family. Their criticism and support is helpful and can improve the way we work together.
  6. 2. Foster a culture of honesty.
  7. Successful group work relies on truthfulness. Bringing honesty to the table is important as this helps each other build that strong foundation that is needed in order to succeed and have nothing leaked to the opposition or those we have an operation on.
  8. 3. Group Cooperation.
  9. Group members don't have to personally like people to work with them. In group work, as in professional life, people work with the team they are in, and matters of personal conflict need to be managed so they don't get in the way of the progress of the group as a whole. With this said, if the conflict cannot be managed and the trust between the two people cannot be built, we will determine as a group who is to be let go.
  10. 4. Affirm collective responsibility.
  11. Decisions are to be voted on as a group. If one member decides to do an action without a group approval, that would determine that this person cannot be trusted as much as the others and will be looked into. We don't want to war with each other, or with other sectors unless need be. Once issues have been aired, and group decisions have been made as fully as possible, the convention of collective responsibility needs to be applied for successful group processes. This leads towards everyone living with group decisions and refraining from articulating their own personal reservations outside the group.
  12. 5. Everyone needs to take a fair share of the group work.
  13. Everyone has skills of their own and this is determined from the start. This does not mean that everyone has to do the same thing. It is best when the members of the group have agreed how the tasks will be allocated amongst themselves. Group members also need to be prepared to contribute by building on the ideas of others and validating each other's experiences. If you can help someone in their field even if you're not skilled in that area, try your best.
  14. 6. Help group members to see the importance of keeping good records.
  15. There needs to be an output to look back upon. Rather you trust a suspicious person or not, save their information and pictures, these people can turn on you in a second. Derpsec went through this experience before and learned from the mistake of not taking down notes. Always be prepared. Share your information with your trusted members so they are aware as well.
  16. 7. Help people to value creativity and off-the-wall ideas.
  17. One person’s strength might be your weakness, but your mindset just might help out your fellow member in created something powerful they didn’t think of. Always speak up and let your voice be heard; in a respectful manner of course.
  18. 8. Enable systematic working patterns.
  19. Establishing a regular program of meetings, task report backs and task allocation is likely to lead to effective and productive group performance. IRC is a good idea, as is changing chat boxes often. At the same time, remember that not all members can go to the IRC or keep up with what’s going on due to personal life. With that being said, catch the members up on things with as much information as possible. Do not tell them to scroll up or go read this; take your time out and do the right thing.
  20. 9. Cultivate the idea of group rules as a continuing agenda.
  21. It can be productive to review and renegotiate the ground rules from time to time, creating new ones as solutions to unanticipated problems that might have arisen. It is important, however, not to forget or abandon those ground rules that proved useful in practice, but which were not consciously applied.
  22. 10. Listen to your supporters and followers.
  23. Derpsec prides itself on doing the good things, bringing justice to those who unfairly got done wrong. We like to have our supporters ask us for help and talk of the good stuff we have done. Re-assure your supporters that we are here for them and will help in any way possible.
  24. 11. Adding new members.
  25. Each member of Derpsec needs to come to a 100% agreement on adding a new member. To conclude this decision, an interview chat will be issue to both the interested newcomer and each member of the higher authority Derpsec crew. Only Derpsec members will be added as administers on Derpsec pages, and only Derpsec members will make the agreed decisions on any issues, concerns or possible operations.
