Somber's game Session XI Log

[19:04:15] <%Somber> The battle had been short, brutal, and terrible. Their weapons were back, their wounds burned, and their enemies were quite dead. The fog rolled in around them, and it was getting dark. Mist was blowing up through the sewer grates and up the storm drains in curling white plumes. They were near the police station, where Bloodwing the raider was holed up.
[19:04:51] <%Somber> Sadly, they didn't have the regeneration talisman needed so badly at the library. The thickening mist began to take a decidely purplish hue.
[19:07:23] Aria falls on her haunches, blood pouring down her left eye. "I'm pretty banged up, Skyshine. You mind patching me up?"
[19:08:15] Star_Chaser looks up and around at the buildings. "We need to get inside. Quickly. The fog has the same purple mist in it that we've seen everywhere else. The less time we spend outdoors, the better."
[19:08:47] Skyshine pulls bandages and medical supplies that she'd managed to salvage from the hospital and leans against Aria. "Listen to Star. Try to hold off bleeding to death until we get inside."
[19:09:03] Aria nods. "Will do, doc."
[19:13:05] <%Somber> The police station was a large brick three story building that looked somewhat like a miniature castle. It still had intact windows and doors, a promising sight. Most of them were supposed to be protected from gas attacks. There were, however, bodies hung from chains. 'Bloodwingz' was written above the front door.
[19:14:22] Star_Chaser took a few quick looks around, trying to spot any other buildings nearby which might work as refuge. Right now, the fortified, defended, raider nest seemed their best choice. Which was pretty bad, when you came right down to it.
[19:14:58] Tiller "Bloodthirsty raiders. That's almost a relief."
[19:15:37] Tiller slips into the shadows and sneaks into the garage.
[19:15:51] Aria grunts. "Well, I'm not in any shape to fight them right now."
[19:15:53] Red_Line looks up to the hanging body "Well at lest we know what to expect from them."
[19:17:59] Star_Chaser looks up at the building and frowns. "Well come in from below. Front door's probably guarded inside anyway. And locked." She moves towards the ramp. "Staying outside's probably deadly anyway. You remember what happened to Tiller when he drank the water in the hospital, don't you?"
[19:19:44] Skyshine nods. "Let's just get somewhere where I can start tending to ya'll. I'd be afraid of an overeager radroach right about now."
[19:20:35] Aria smiles at Skyshine. "Skit skit?" she asks, mimicing the noises a radroach makes.
[19:30:57] Tiller greets the rest of the group as they enter by showing them his huge pile O' booty. "Hey everypony! I scouted it out, and I found party favors. There's a mine in the doorway to booking, so don't go there yet."
[19:32:03] Red_Line "Oh party favors, what did you get us?"
[19:33:19] Tiller "Some guns and some armor. Looks like it used to belong to some officers."
[19:33:20] <%Somber> The mist was thickening...
[19:33:52] Skyshine looks at the thickening mist. "So about that mine and opening the door?"
[19:34:19] Star_Chaser blinks and looks down at the collection. "We'd better take what we can quickly. We need to get inside before it gets worse out here." She laid claim to the Service Rifle and ammo. "We'll move on quickly."
[19:34:21] Tiller frowns. "I don't actually know it's a mine. I just saw a blinking red light."
[19:36:29] Star_Chaser eartwitches, then eyetwitches. She starts heading towards the far end of the parking garage, towards the entrance.
[19:37:44] Skyshine looks at Star Chaser. "Oh fucking sorrell hells." She shouts. "STAR! WRONG WAY!"
[19:38:24] Star_Chaser continues moving towards the entrance to the building inside the garage, gritting her teeth. "Not real. Already dead. Left them behind. Can't be real."
[19:38:32] <%Somber> Down the ramp, you see a half dozen armored paddy wagons with metal pull shields in front of them, two for pegasi and four for earth ponies. Water fills half the garage knee deep. On the far side is a door marked 'booking'.
[19:40:29] Aria winces. "Gotta stop her," Aria says before reaching out with her telekinesis to grap Star Chaser and pull her back to the group.
[19:40:31] Skyshine [[email protected]] has quit (Connection closed).
[19:40:49] Skyshine [[email protected]] joined the channel.
[19:41:09] Star_Chaser pauses at the water's edge. Grunting as Aria grabs her and yanks her back. "We need to get inside. Now. The mist is starting to affect me. It'll affect you too, soon. MOVE!" SHe points towards the water-logged garage. "The longer we stay out here, the worse it is!"
[19:41:59] Aria nods, realizing what she's doing. "Got it, sorry." She then starts limping after her. "She's right. Let's go."
[19:43:49] Skyshine bolts over and starts supporting Aria again. "Sorry. Let's get you somewhere safe before we get you patched up. I don't want more of that... purple mist in you than is already there. Luna knows what it'd do if it's stuck to the bandages."
[19:44:06] Red_Line scoops up the suits of security armor and hoofs one over to Skyshine "Here oyu my need this. It's not that heavy."
[19:44:15] <Red_Line> you*
[19:44:28] Aria laughs. "Probably make me think I'm a princess or something."
[19:45:43] Skyshine oofs as armour lands on her back. "Oww..."
[19:48:01] Aria tries to help Skyshine with the weight as they hurry into the station.
[19:49:13] Star_Chaser looks back at the others from the door. "Stay back!" She turned to buck the door open, spreading her wings to fly away from the door as quick as possible.
[19:50:34] <%Somber> She bucks open the door and two things happen. One is a mine by the door starts beeping. Another is three grenades fall from above the door and bounce wildly around the door. A second later, the air is rent with explosions.
[19:53:01] Tiller put a wagon between himself and the door when he saw Star_Chaser going for it.
[19:55:01] <%Somber> BOOMOOOMOOOMOOOM!
[19:55:30] <%Somber> Bits of deadly metal fill the air as the frag grenades go off in rapid succession.
[19:56:02] Red_Line flails in agony as the shrapnel rends his flesh
[19:57:01] Tiller groans. "So much for the element of surprise."
[19:57:01] <%Somber> The mist in the garage is now during decidedly purple. The air inside the police station seems clear though.
[19:57:48] Tiller stumbles into Booking as soon as the noise stopped and tried to find a nice shadowy spot.
[19:57:58] Aria closes her eyes and covers Skyshine just in time for the two of them to miraculously be completely missed by the shrapnel.
[19:58:02] Star_Chaser calls out into the purple mist. "Inside! Now!" She swoops in through the door, pausing to hold it long enough for the others to follow.
[19:58:32] Aria gets back to her hooves and helps Skyshine inside. "Don't have to tell me twice."
[19:59:58] Red_Line limps in to the room after the others "No damn patience."
[20:01:09] <%Somber> Inside booking was very blasted concrete box, a bullet proof window, and a large metal door. The floor was wet, but elevated enough that the water was trickling red out into the garage from under the door. On the far side of the bullet proof window was a raider in ragged police gear slumped in a chair, his head bowed and seemingly asleep. There was only
[20:01:34] <%Somber> one large, heavy door through... the type that needed to be buzzed through.
[20:01:44] Skyshine follows the party into the room, tossing off her saddlebags and struggling to pull out her box of medical supplies.
[20:02:59] Tiller hides in his shadowy corner and watches the doorman curiously.
[20:03:28] Star_Chaser briefly catches sight of the sleeping raider. Wondering how someone managed to sleep through high explosives. But now wasn't the time to really question that. They needed in. She twitched a wing as the door closed behind the last of them.
[20:08:22] Skyshine looks at the guard and shudders. Looking over at Aria and Red Line, she whispers a prayer and presses the door buzzer. "Please tell me one of you can sound like an angry raider."
[20:09:29] Star_Chaser looks to the guard, her ear twitching and pondering. "Raider maybe not. Sergeant I can do. Maybe cop, if I tried hard enough..."
[20:10:43] Skyshine looks to the two unicorns. "Can one of you manage to press that lovely little button in there with your magic?" She points out said button with a hoof on the glass.
[20:10:49] Aria frowns. "If he thinks its war time Equestria, then a military officer would probably have as much pull as a police officer, possibly more.
[20:10:58] <%Somber> The lights inside the police station were dead. Only emergency lights provided any illumination.
[20:12:32] Tiller stays quiet and hidden.
[20:13:18] Red_Line sits bake picking bits of metal out of his flank
[20:13:21] Star_Chaser grits her teeth and sighs. "I'll do it. If we have to." She looks up at the button. "Anyone able to reach it without waking him? Better if we don't have to deal with any more crazy today..."
[20:14:04] Skyshine looks at the raider, then to Star Chaser. "Uh, Star? That red under the door? Pretty sure that's... all of his blood."
[20:15:05] Star_Chaser blinks and frowns. "Oh. That'd explain it, then."
[20:15:53] Skyshine tries to help Aria to the window. "I need your horn."
[20:17:11] Aria limps over to the window and focuses on the button. "I could make a joke right there, but I'll hold off on that." She then uses her magic to push the button inside the Booking office to open the door.
[20:19:12] <%Somber> The door buzzes and opens to another small room that says "Remove all clothes and place them into a bin. Slide them through the window. Wait for the second buzzer. Proceed through." There was a second electric door.
[20:20:10] Star_Chaser frowns and looks up towards the glass. "Looks like we'll need another button somewhere in there." She grit her teeth.
[20:20:58] Aria sighs. "I can see it too, but you guys have to be inside and shut the door. I have to stay out here to let you guys through," she tells them before looking back at the door leading outside.
[20:21:16] Skyshine thinks a moment. "What if it's triggered by the bin? I could just strip out of this barding and put it and the bin through the window. I need to change into the armour anyways..."
[20:22:03] Aria shakes her head. "No, I can see the button from here. The stripping is confirmed by somepony inside."
[20:22:24] Skyshine turns bright red. "I gues you're right. Sorry."
[20:22:55] Tiller joins the rest of the group. "Well, no reason to strip at all then."
[20:22:59] Star_Chaser frowns. "We should take a little while here and get ready. Change into your armor. Ready any new weapons. The raiders doubtless know we're here and I don't want to go in half-ready."
[20:23:40] <Aria> "I'll be fine out here. Just hurry in and I'll let you through. Then you guys can go in there from the other side and let me in." She pauses, glancing at the door again and tries locking it with her telekinesis. "Although I'd like you guys to hurry when your through. I don't want to be stuck out here alone for longer than I have to."
[20:26:10] Tiller takes the time to fumblingly reload his pistol while the others are changing.
[20:26:37] Star_Chaser frowns and nods her head. She sets about securing the service rifle to her saddle. Better to have both for now.
[20:27:24] Skyshine pulls out bandages and a needle, going to work on Aria. "Red, are you going to be alright? Or should I take care of you first?" She asks around a bandage wrap.
[20:28:28] <%Somber> Dark cameras set in the corners looked down at them as they changed.
