Painless Tutorial - 10-22-2013

Hi:

This is a small tutorial so people close to me connect to furnet/anthrochat. I'll try to babble the less I am able, but remember that I have problems concentrating.

Ok. To begin, look for a client for your chat. All you need is a client, you don't need to know advanced stuff.

When you have downloaded and installed your client, open the client and maximize it. Then type this:

/server furnet.org

It will show a long welcoming message and then it means you are connected.

Then it is important you register your nick, so it won't get used by any one but you. All you need to do is this command:

/msg nickserv register yourpassword youremail@someemailserver.com

Then a message from furnet will pop up in your inbox. Follow instructions and remember that password. If you want you can save it on a piece of paper and put it on your wallet or in your purse.

If you disconnect, you will have to identify yourself to the server again. The string command is:

/msg nickserv identify yourpassword

Now that we got that covered, we need to join rooms. Type this into the console:

/list

That way the console will list all public channels and their descriptions.

So, that is basically all there is to it.
