  1. Cryohomun (Cryogonal + homonculus)
  2.
  3. HP: 80 (301 - 364)
  4. Atk: 50 (136 - 199)
  5. Def: 40 (116 - 179)
  6. SpA: 100 (236 - 299)
  7. SpD: 140 (316 - 379)
  8. Spe: 130 (296 - 359)
  9.
  10. From these stats, we can see the potential of Cryohomun. It excels at walling special threats, but fails to wall physical threats. That said, Cryohomun is also fast for a special wall, and that high Speed combined with decent Special Attack can allow it to go onto an offensive role.
  11.
  12. Types: Ice / Steel
  13.
  14. This typing is considerably bad, yet good at the same time. Cryohomun has plenty of resistances to abuse thanks to that Steel-type, while its weaknesses are easy to exploit-4x weaknesses to Fire and Fighting and a Ground weakness will make Cryohomun a lot harder to use. That said, with 9 resistances and an immunity to Toxic, expect Cryohomun to wall certain threats.
  15.
  16. Ability: Levitate
  17.
  18. Levitate, Levitate, Levitate. When you thought an immunity to the Ground-type attacks that Cryohomun is weak against was a godsend, wait until you hear this: immunity to Spikes! That gives Cryohomun a great role in Rapid Spinning-it only takes 12.5% from Stealth Rock. High Special Attack and Ice Beam allow it to defeat Ghost-type spinblockers, and access to Recover allows it to maintain longevity. Levitate also gives Cryohomun more switch-in opportunities.
  19.
  20. Important Moves:
  21.
  22. Level 13 - Rapid Spin
  23. Level 33 - Ice Beam
  24. Level 49 - Recover
  25. TM06 - Toxic
  26. TM10 - Hidden Power
  27. TM24 - Thunderbolt
  28. TM52 - Focus Blast
  29. HM03 - Surf
  30.
  31. From Cryogonal, Cryohomun gained three important moves. Focus Blast, Thunderbolt, and Surf complete the coverage on the Life Orb set. Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Surf have great coverage together, as demonstrated by Starmie. Focus Blast can be used to harm Normal- and Steel-types.
  32.
  33. Interesting Moves:
  34.
  35. Level 21 - Haze
  36. Level 37 - Light Screen
  37. Level 37 - Reflect
  38. Level 45 - Confuse Ray
  39. TM64 - Explosion
  40. TM90 - Substitute
  41.
  42. These moves have a niche for specific sets. Light Screen and Reflect can be used to patch up its team's defenses, Confuse Ray can be used to damage physical sweepers and Haze wipes boosts clean. Explosion has its use in bringing down a weakened opponent, but kills Cryohomun in the process. Substitute can be used on any set to block harmful moves like Leech Seed and Thunder Wave.
  43.
  44. Let's explore two potential sets for Cryohomun:
  45.
  46. [SET]
  47. name: Rapid Spin
  48. move 1: Rapid Spin
  49. move 2: Recover
  50. move 3: Ice Beam
  51. move 4: Toxic / Hidden Power Fire
  52. item: Leftovers
  53. ability: Levitate
  54. nature: Calm
  55. evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
  56.
  57. Rapid Spinning is an important role on teams. It stops phazers from wearing down your team, sweepers from obtaining OHKOes on your important Pokemon, and much more. Thankfully, Cryohomun's neutrality to Stealth Rock, Levitate ability, access to Recover, and ability to wall special attackers, combines to form a team player. Rapid Spin and Recover combine to form a combination that Cryohomun can rinse and repeat, removing deadly entry hazards and getting ready to remove more. Ice Beam is used to damage Ghost-types attempting to block your spin. Toxic is a great way to wear down Jellicent, who walls Cryohomun otherwise. Hidden Power Fire can be used to stop Forretress and Ferrothorn, who otherwise have a field day with Cryohomun.
  58.
  59. [SET]
  60. name: Life Orb
  61. move 1: Ice Beam
  62. move 2: Thunderbolt
  63. move 3: Surf
  64. move 4: Recover / Focus Blast
  65. item: Life Orb
  66. ability: Levitate
  67. nature: Timid
  68. evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
  69.
  70. This isn't your supporting Cryohomun; it can jump into the offense and begin to tear apart holes in the foe's team. The key to this secret is great SpA and excellent Speed, three important coverage moves, a great ability in Levitate to grant more switch-in opportunities and take no damage from Spikes, an immunity to Toxic that cripples other sweepers, and access to Recover. STAB Ice Beam destroys any Pokemon that doesn't resist it. Thunderbolt hurts Water-type Pokemon and Skarmory. Surf crushes Rock-, Ground-, and Fire-type Pokemon for super effective damage. Recover heals up Cryohomun nicely while Focus Blast pounds Ferrothorn and Tyranitar. Hidden Power Fire could be used for Scizor and Ferrothorn.
