[21:44]	GM	[Quick intro: Zeke and Shingokyu leave Keine's to visit Rinnosuke's curio/pawn shop. Zeke was told it might be a good place for someone like him without any cash. They are currently on the road to the shop. It's a ways outside the village proper, so the two talk along the way.]
[21:45]	Zeke	"Jeez... I sure hope there's stuff in here worth pawning..."
[21:45]	Zeke	searches through his backpack for any odd ends he brought with him to Gensokyo.
[21:46]	Shingy	"There should be, if the stories I've heard about the wonders of the outside world are true.  I'd think that oursider shrine maiden might be interested in them."
[21:47]	Shingy	"What do you have in there, anyways?"
[22:00]	Zeke	"Oh, a bunch of junk. Mostly hiking supplies, nothing very Outside-ish. But it's a mess in there; who knows?"
[22:00]	Zeke	"Shrine maiden, shrine maiden... Is that the, uhh, the blue one with the green hair?"
[22:01]	Shingy	"Yes, she is. You've met her?"
[22:01]	Zeke	nods and rolls up his sleeve, pointing to the bandage.
[22:02]	Zeke	"Saved my life as soon as I got here. She's a pretty good girl.  I guess I owe her a big something, then."
[22:03]	Zeke	ponders the idea... She DID say she was an Outsider, after all... Maybe he could learn a few things about surviving as one?
[22:03]	GM-Mizi	[Soon enough, the destination comes into view. There's various pile of what you could call 'junk' scattered here and there around the japanese-style house. It reminds you of a roadside teahouse of the older days, but with more junk.]
[22:03]	Shingy	"Well, she's from the outside world as well. She might be interested in some of your stuff."
[22:03]	Zeke	"Yeah, a memento or whatever. Oh, is this the place?"
[22:03]	Zeke	points over there.
[22:04]	Shingy	"That is it indeed."
[22:04]	Zeke	"Cool. That wasn't so far. Why's it away from the village, anyways?"
[22:05]	Zeke	"I thought Ms. Keine said it was dangerous this far out."
[22:06]	Shingy	"Rinnosuke has ways of protecting himself, plus some of the items he has are dangerous. Remember that magical reactor Marisa had that your friend liked so much? He made it."
[22:07]	Zeke	raises his eyebrows.
[22:08]	Zeke	"Ohoho? Sounds like a fun place, then."
[22:08]	Zeke	calls out to the shop once he's fairly close:
[22:08]	Zeke	"Ahh, hello! Hello! Anyone home?"
[22:09]	GM-Mizi	[a man emerges from the doorway. The word 'emerge' is used because it fits the situation, as his humongous size made the door appears tiny. His first impression is that of a bodybuilder. Packed. Ripped. An epitome of manliness. He's carrying two large crate and softly place it on the table outside. The bench creaks as the weights are added.]
[22:10]	GM-Mizi	[His hair is white like a snow, his top uncovered. He looks at the newcomer from behind his glasses.]
[22:10]	Shingy	"Greetings, Rinnosuke."
[22:10]	Zeke	is taken quite aback. This is not the stereotype of the strange old shop man!
[22:11]	Rinnosuke	"Oh. Greetings! What can I, Morichika Rinnosuke, do for you?"
[22:11]	Shingy	"This is a friend of mine, Zeke, from the Outside world. He's hoping to sell some of his stuff."
[22:11]	Zeke	"Ahh, well, maybe I'll get a quote, first, at least. But yes, yes I am."
[22:11]	Rinnosuke	"Outside world, hm?"
[22:12]	Rinnosuke	shifts his glasses.
[22:12]	Zeke	"I know, right?"
[22:12]	Zeke	shrugs.
[22:12]	Rinnosuke	"Yes you do look like and outsider. I mean, you are a walking technological advancement!"
[22:13]	Zeke	looks himself over. He has a watch! And maybe one of those stupid fake chains on his jeans young punks wear these days.
[22:13]	Rinnosuke	"Come. You want something to drink? I have a choco protein mix ready, but I don't suppose that's what suit your taste."
[22:13]	Zeke	tries not to raise an eyebrow. Maaaaaybe he should lay off of those...
[22:14]	Zeke	"Well, let's see if we can't do some business first, mmm?"
[22:14]	Rinnosuke	pats Shingyoku as he passes by him/her.
[22:14]	Rinnosuke	"Sure. Businesses. So what do you like? Tea? Coffee? Protein mix?"
[22:15]	Zeke	"Well... Tea, is fine for now. I just had lunch not too long ago."
[22:15]	Shingy	is currently in male form.
[22:16]	Rinnosuke	leads them inside. There's a path created by shoving useless trinkets asides. Digital camera, old umbrella, ice grinder, et cetera. Modern and ancient gadgetry clutters about in chaos that is his shop. Wait. is that a /refrigerator/?
[22:16]	Rinnosuke	"Have a seat.... uh, wherever you like, I guess?"
[22:17]	Zeke	observes the clutter. Wow; this looks like less of a garage sale and more of a closet.
[22:17]	Zeke	"Ahh, no thanks, I'm fine for now... Wow, this is... Where'd you get all this? It's like I'm back home!"
[22:17]	Zeke	"Maybe a little TOO much of home for such a small space, though... No offense."
[22:18]	Rinnosuke	"I have this habit of not tossing stuff away if it still has its use. Just like an old coot huh? HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
[22:18]	Rinnosuke	lets out a booming laugh and slaps Zeke on the back.
[22:19]	Zeke	groans as he is hit and tries not to stumble.
[22:18]	Shingy	gives the umbrella a wide berth, and stands against the wall, watching curiously.
[22:19]	Zeke	"Heh, yeah, there's a little bit of old man in all of us I guess."
[22:20]	Zeke	"So, anyways, I guess I should ask... What would you take for outsider cash?"
[22:21]	Rinnosuke	"Sorry, mister. Cash is useless to me."
[22:21]	Zeke	flips through his wallet, counting how much he has, before hearing Rinnosuke.
[22:21]	Rinnosuke	"I mean, who can I trade it with if not you?"
[22:21]	Zeke	"Seriously? I mean, even as a collector's item? No one else around here'd have it, you know."
[22:21]	Rinnosuke	"Just show me what you want and what you got, then we will go from there."
[22:22]	Zeke	shrugs and puts the wallet away. Ahh well.
[22:22]	Zeke	"Well, let me see then..."
[22:22]	Zeke	rummages through his backpack, looking for Outsider-y things.
[22:24]	Zeke	finds his cell phone first. He checks the charge: one battery bar left.
[22:25]	Zeke	"Well, for starters, I've got this guy here. Cellular telephone. Still has some energy left in it even."
[22:25]	Rinnosuke	"So what can it do? Except calling, I mean."
[22:25]	Rinnosuke	"I do have a charger here though."
[22:26]	Rinnosuke	rummages, and whips out a charger of matching size.
[22:27]	Rinnosuke	"Sorry about that, mate. I'm not really a techno-savvy guy here, so I don't follow much cellphone function these days!"
[22:27]	Rinnosuke	laughs.
[22:27]	Zeke	"Well, if there's another telephone around here, which I doubt, you could send out a transmission and talk to them. Otherwise it's just got a few little things on there. Notepad, calculator... It's not a very new phone, honestly."
[22:29]	Zeke	keeps digging. To him, there doesn't really look like there's much amazing stuff in there.
[22:29]	Rinnosuke	"I'd take that. But since it's not as functional as iPhone over there, I don't think it will have much value."
[22:30]	Rinnosuke	points somewhere behind the counter where the iPhone with cracked screen is located.
[22:30]	Zeke	's eye suddenly shoot over to the iPhone. EVEN IN A FANTASY WORLD! NEW TECHNOLOGY! CURSE YOOOU!
[22:31]	Zeke	"You know what, maybe YOU look, mmm? You'd know what's valuable to you more than I would in this world, I bet."
[22:31]	Zeke	just starts dumping all his stuff out onto the floor, since that's the only open area left in here.
[22:31]	Rinnosuke	"Sure. Let me have a look, mate."
[22:31]	Shingy	"I have a question. Are those both those teleo-phone things?"
[22:32]	Rinnosuke	flips through Zeke's articles, deep in thought.
[22:32]	Rinnosuke	"Hm? Yeah."
[22:32]	Rinnosuke	"Oh. Calorie-mate. This looks good."
[22:33]	Rinnosuke	pops that out to the other pile.
[22:33]	Shingy	"Could they not talk to each other somehow?"
[22:33]	Rinnosuke	"Maps.... weird area outside border. I should keep this myself or sell it to the scholary-type..."
[22:33]	Zeke	"The cell phones, you mean? Ahh, uhh... Well, it's kind of complicated."
[22:34]	Rinnosuke	"Oh. Koala-shaped choco biscuits. Okay, awesome."
[22:34]	Zeke	"Everything electronic is complicated these days, Mr. and or Mrs. Shingokyu."
[22:34]	Rinnosuke	"Binoculars. Miiiiight be good for a normal human..."
[22:34]	Zeke	"I, uhh, I AM a normal human, though... Maybe don't put THAT on your pile just yet."
[22:35]	Rinnosuke	tosses a little bit of this and that out, including the backpack itself, and return the rest to Zeke.
[22:35]	Rinnosuke	"Alright mate. Pick what you like."
[22:35]	Zeke	sees his travel mahjong set in the pile there.
[22:35]	Zeke	"Oh! Wow, I brought this?!"
[22:36]	Zeke	checks inside. Looks like all the pieces are still there.
[22:36]	Zeke	"Wow. Lucky me. I bet I could find folks here who'd play me, too."
[22:36]	Rinnosuke	"Mahjong, huh. I'm not a fan of this since it requires three more person to play."
[22:36]	Rinnosuke	"I'm a lone wolf, you see."
[22:37]	Zeke	"Well, to each their own."
[22:37]	Rinnosuke	shrugs. His muscular bulge moves around like a goddamn bowling ball.
[22:37]	Zeke	quickly pays attention to his own hand instead, which counts out two fingers.
[22:37]	Zeke	"Aaaanyways... Well, there's two big things I'm looking for, sir."
[22:37]	Rinnosuke	Anything you want, Shingyoku?
[22:38]	Rinnosuke	asks Zeke's current companion.
[22:38]	Zeke	"One, I'm looking for a weapon of some kind. Something to defend myself just in case. Nothing fancy, but something good. A machete, maybe a wakasizhi or something like that."
[22:39]	Zeke	"Also, uhh... I'm still not sure how this works, but, do you have any old, uhh, "Spellcards" lying around?"
[22:39]	Zeke	"They told me spellcards are the thing to have in Gensokyo."
[22:39]	Rinnosuke	"It's -wakizashi-, mate."
[22:39]	Rinnosuke	pft.
[22:39]	Zeke	shakes his head and chuckles with him.
[22:39]	Shingy	"Not at the moment. I don't actually require much in the way of material possessions."
[22:40]	Rinnosuke	"No prob."
[22:40]	Zeke	"Ehh, I'm American. I was still learning NEW Japan, let alone MAGIC Japan over here."
[22:40]	Rinnosuke	"So, an American looking for a weapon, huh?"
[22:40]	Zeke	rolls his eyes.
[22:41]	Zeke	refrains from calling the man out on stereotyping.
[22:41]	Rinnosuke	"I think I have the thing for you."
[22:41]	Shingy	"He probably wouldn't have old spellcards, but he may have some blank spellcards."
[22:41]	Rinnosuke	fetches an aluminum case out, unlocks it, and show him the merchandise.
[22:41]	Zeke	"Blank?"
[22:41]	Rinnosuke	"Colt Python.  City hunter special."
[22:41]	Zeke	says as he looks at the case.
[22:42]	Zeke	"Wait... Woah..."
[22:42]	Rinnosuke	"This packs a real punch, Youkai or not."
[22:42]	Zeke	is impressed. This wasn't something he expected to find here at ALL.
[22:43]	Rinnosuke	"Getting his by this snake, and you will be on the floor crying in pain. capital letters PAIN, mate."
[22:43]	Zeke	"Yeah... Yeah, it's a good gun. Cartridges?"
[22:43]	Shingy	"Blank spellcards. You design them yourself, since they need to fit your personality. And what is that?"
[22:43]	Zeke	takes it out very carefully and explains.
[22:44]	Zeke	"This is a gun. This is what modern-day outsiders use to defend themselves, see."
[22:44]	Rinnosuke	".357 magnum revolver. I have 32 rounds box happen to be lying around."
[22:44]	Rinnosuke	"This thing's super rare. It's a shame if I am to sell it to you."
[22:44]	Zeke	"It uses a small explosion inside to shoot a slug of metal out the long end here.  Hurts like hell."
[22:44]	Rinnosuke	"But seeing that you are a man that needs firepower, I'm willing to part with it."
[22:45]	Rinnosuke	"Right? My -American-'s friend?"
[22:45]	Rinnosuke	winks.
[22:45]	Shingy	"Zeke, would you let me try to teach you to use danmaku first?"
[22:45]	Zeke	focuses on Rinnosuke again, then Shingy, and thinks...
[22:45]	Zeke	"Hmmm... 32 rounds, you say..."
[22:46]	Zeke	"Well, I need to be prepared for anything out here, I'd say, Mr. Shingy. Because ANYTHING is probably what lives here, right?"
[22:47]	Zeke	"These guns, you see... Humans like 'em because they WORK. Aim, shoot, and done."
[22:47]	Rinnosuke	"Well if you prefer some reusable kind of thing, I have a crossbow."
[22:47]	Rinnosuke	"Gonna be hard for you to load it, mate. Look at that scrawny arms!"
[22:47]	Zeke	"Woah, crossbow even? Man, you've got everything!"
[22:47]	Rinnosuke	"I am Rinnosuke Morichika. Impossible is not in my dictionary!"
[22:48]	Zeke	"And, okay, yeah, yeah, I admit it. I'm not the sports kid."
[22:49]	Zeke	taps his fingers, thinking... Guns work, but that aiming... And only 32 rounds, too...
[22:49]	Rinnosuke	"Don't talk like that, mate. Everyone can have these, too."
[22:49]	Rinnosuke	taps his beautiful abs.
[22:49]	Rinnosuke	"--with proper training and self discipline."
[22:50]	Zeke	"I think it'll take me enough self-discipline just to survive out here, sir."
[22:50]	Zeke	"Tell ya what."
[22:50]	Zeke	leans casually and puts on a friendly attitude.
[22:51]	Zeke	"I'll just take the Colt and bullets for now, but if you throw in a blank spellcard, you can be sure you'll get my business again soon. Deal?"
[22:52]	Rinnosuke	"The Colt itself is already a stretch comparing to what you give me, mate. You gonna ask for /more/?"
[22:53]	Zeke	"No shame in asking, sir. If it's no deal, it's no deal."
[22:54]	Rinnosuke	"Alright. You part with that binoculars, and the deal's done."
[22:54]	Rinnosuke	"Fair game, eh?"
[22:55]	Zeke	thinks about it...
[22:56]	Zeke	"Haaaard bargain, mister. I think one day I might just have to try and trade for those binoculars back..."
[22:56]	Zeke	"But... Fair is fair. You got a deal."
[22:56]	Zeke	holds out his hand to make the transaction final.
[22:57]	Rinnosuke	"Appreciate it, mate!"
[22:57]	Rinnosuke	"Here's something from me!"
[22:57]	Rinnosuke	put the protein shake mix into the bindle for him along with the Colt, ammo, and one blank spellcard.
[22:58]	Zeke	chuckles.
[22:58]	Zeke	"Well all right then, sir."
[22:58]	Rinnosuke	"Oh, blast. I forgot your tea. Sorry 'bout that mate."
[22:59]	Rinnosuke	"Come back anytime. It's not like I'm going anywhere!"
[22:58]	Shingy	"I might come back at some point, just to learn what some of this stuff does."
[22:59]	Zeke	"I could show ya. It's simple enough for me, and it's probably the only advantage I've got in this place."
[22:59]	Rinnosuke	laughs again. This time the back-patting is even more hard than the last.
[23:00]	Zeke	is happy to get out of back-slapping distance for the time being.
[23:00]	Rinnosuke	"If you want to learn about the other side, or want a good workout trainer, come see me!"
[23:01]	Rinnosuke	"Though your mate's probably better than me in the first one, hahaha!"
[23:01]	Zeke	walks with Shingy down the road back to the village. He carefully observes the Colt while he walks, making sure it's unloaded for travel right now. He spends far more time observing the spell card, however.
[23:02]	Zeke	sees that it's the same heavy cardstock and elegant foil as Keine's, but it's completely dull on both sides
[23:03]	Zeke	"Sorry I didn't say much back there; I was a little busy, you know."
[23:04]	Zeke	"The very first thing that happened to me in Gensokyo was getting mauled by a cannibal..."
[23:04]	Zeke	shivers a little.
[23:05]	Zeke	"Kinda leaves an impression on you. I just... I needed something to defend myself with. Feel a little safer."
[23:05]	Shingy	"I understand, However, I hope to teach you how to defend yourself myself."
[23:05]	Zeke	"Yeah, yeah..."
[23:05]	Zeke	flicks the card.
[23:06]	Zeke	"So... I guess I wasn't really paying much attention with you and Miss Keine and the hat-girl and Kai."
[23:06]	Zeke	"How do these... work, exactly?"
[23:07]	Shingy	"Well, I'd have to show you how to create danmaku first, but from that point, it's kind of an expression of your soul."
[23:08]	Zeke	"Kind of? Hmm..."
[23:09]	Zeke	stares into the blank card, which remains blank. "Expression of the soul" is so vague it could mean any number of cliched fantasy ways to magically become adept at fighting without any good reason for doing so.
[23:10]	Zeke	"I suppose that'd take, like, months of training though."
[23:12]	Shingy	"Not really. Just a few short lessons to learn how to use it."
[23:12]	Shingy	"After that, there is training, but it's all self-directed."
[23:14]	Zeke	scratches his chin, looking out into the wilderness, thinking...
[23:15]	Zeke	"Mmm... Hey, how far is that mountain?"
[23:15]	Zeke	"I mean, I can see it from here, but like, how long would it take to get there from here?"
[23:17]	Zeke	"Cause I've been thinking... Maybe the best way for an Outsider to survive is to ask the other Outsiders how THEY survived."
[23:18]	GM-Mizi	[You look up. The mountain looks so high, and the top is obscured by cloud or fog or whatever.]
[23:19]	Zeke	looks... And looks...
[23:19]	Zeke	"And... Wow, that IS a tall one..."
[23:20]	Shingy	"It is a very tall one."
[23:21]	Zeke	"Yeah, no way I'm hiking THAT in one day... Dang it."
[23:21]	Shingy	"It took Reimu and Marisa over 6 battles to get up there."
[23:22]	Zeke	"Together?! Ahh crap, it's hostile, too?"
[23:23]	Zeke	"Then how'd's Sanae get DOWN?"
[23:23]	Zeke	is still not really thinking about this whole "Everyone can fly" thing. A big lapse of judgement considering him, really.
[23:24]	Shingy	"No, it's not hostile anymore. Just when they were trying to get up there."
[23:24]	Shingy	"Also, Reimu and Marisa aren't good with the whole 'social graces' thing."
[23:25]	Zeke	recalls Marisa's Ah-dou-wha-ah-wahnt attitude.
[23:25]	Zeke	"Sooooo..."
[23:26]	Shingy	"So it shouldn't be as hard to get up there."
[23:26]	Zeke	is trying to find a way to ask Shingy to take him there without actually asking him/her to take him there.
[23:26]	Shingy	"We could probably do it before sundown."
[23:27]	Zeke	"The what the what? How?"
[23:27]	Zeke	"That's four miles high at least."
[23:29]	Shingy	"Oh, I forgot, you don't have youkai endurance."
[23:29]	Shingy	"Though I suppose I could carry you."
[23:30]	Zeke	looks away, a little embarrassed even though Shingy's in maleform right now.
[23:30]	Zeke	"That'd be... awkward."
[23:30]	Zeke	sighs.
[23:31]	Shingy	"Oh? How so?"
[23:31]	Shingy	doesn't seem to understand.
[23:32]	Zeke	"Just... Ahh, what the heck.  Let's go for it."
[23:33]	Shingy	picks up Zeke with strong arms, and seemingly involuntarily shifting to female form.
[23:34]	Shingy	"Very well. Here we go!"
[23:34]	Shingy	takes off into the sky, silhouetted dramatically against the noonday sun.
[23:34]	Zeke	[Good place to end the session. Let's hope Owen isn't late for work tomorrow because of this.]
