  1. Injustice 2 Controller Options
  2.
  3. RELEASE CHECK
  4. When enabled, the game interprets button releases as a separate input. Release Check makes some timings on special move inputs easier, but you may get unintended “negative-edge” specials when doing quicker inputs. Of all the options, this one is generally recommended to turn off!
  5.
  6. Consider enabling if the following occurs
  7. - You notice special moves not coming out consistently because you pressed the button before completing the directional motion
  8.
  9. Consider disabling if the following occurs
  10. - You get a different special move than expected when canceling from normals
  11.
  12.
  13. ALTERNATIVE CONTROLS
  14. Stick motions more natural by including diagonal inputs, similar to games like Street Fighter, but it takes longer to input compared to the default setting. Characters with a large number of special moves like Atrocitus and Black Canary can run into problematic input overlaps with this setting
  15.
  16. Consider enabling if the following occurs
  17. - You’re uncomfortable doing back-forward special moves (they will become half circle forward)
  18. - You have difficulty buffering special moves from a crouching position
  19. - You get unintended back-forward specials when inputting command normals
  20.
  21. Consider disabling if the following occurs
  22. - You play a character that runs into overlapping special move inputs with this setting
  23. - You prefer having simpler and faster inputs
  24.
  25. INPUT SHORTCUTS
  26. Adds input leniency to special moves so you can be "lazier" on some inputs, and also makes inputting moves easier when you're already in a crouch or holding back to block. But, you may get random specials in neutral, because the leniency on crouching causes the down input to be stored for a long period.
  27.
  28. Consider enabling if the following occurs
  29. - You have difficulty executing insta-air specials
  30. - You have difficulty buffering special moves from a crouching position
  31. - You have difficulty inputting command grab motions
  32.
  33. Consider disabling if the following occurs
  34. - Input leniency causes you to get random specials when attempting command normals
  35.
  36. BUTTON SHORTCUTS
  37. Button combinations are included for throw (1+3), interact (1+2), and flip stance (2+3). This makes it so you need fewer buttons to control the game, but fast inputs (Ivy's 12123) may overlap with Interactables (1+2) and mess you up in the heat of the match if not careful.
  38.
  39. Consider enabling if the following occurs
  40. - You prefer teching throws with the SF4/SFV input (LP+LK in SF would be 1+3 in Inj2)
  41. - You’re uncomfortable with having to use all 8 buttons on a fightstick/hitbox
  42. - You’re uncomfortable with having to use trigger levers for inputs on control pad
  43.
  44. Consider disabling if the following occurs
  45. - Inputting strings causes you to get accidental interactables
  46. - Grabbing with 1+3 causes you to get an attack instead of a throw
  47. - Interacting using 1+2 causes you to get an attack instead of the interaction
