- Injustice 2 Controller Options
- RELEASE CHECK
- When enabled, the game interprets button releases as a separate input. Release Check makes some timings on special move inputs easier, but you may get unintended “negative-edge” specials when doing quicker inputs. Of all the options, this one is generally recommended to turn off!
- Consider enabling if the following occurs
- - You notice special moves not coming out consistently because you pressed the button before completing the directional motion
- Consider disabling if the following occurs
- - You get a different special move than expected when canceling from normals
- ALTERNATIVE CONTROLS
- Stick motions more natural by including diagonal inputs, similar to games like Street Fighter, but it takes longer to input compared to the default setting. Characters with a large number of special moves like Atrocitus and Black Canary can run into problematic input overlaps with this setting
- Consider enabling if the following occurs
- - You’re uncomfortable doing back-forward special moves (they will become half circle forward)
- - You have difficulty buffering special moves from a crouching position
- - You get unintended back-forward specials when inputting command normals
- Consider disabling if the following occurs
- - You play a character that runs into overlapping special move inputs with this setting
- - You prefer having simpler and faster inputs
- INPUT SHORTCUTS
- Adds input leniency to special moves so you can be "lazier" on some inputs, and also makes inputting moves easier when you're already in a crouch or holding back to block. But, you may get random specials in neutral, because the leniency on crouching causes the down input to be stored for a long period.
- Consider enabling if the following occurs
- - You have difficulty executing insta-air specials
- - You have difficulty buffering special moves from a crouching position
- - You have difficulty inputting command grab motions
- Consider disabling if the following occurs
- - Input leniency causes you to get random specials when attempting command normals
- BUTTON SHORTCUTS
- Button combinations are included for throw (1+3), interact (1+2), and flip stance (2+3). This makes it so you need fewer buttons to control the game, but fast inputs (Ivy's 12123) may overlap with Interactables (1+2) and mess you up in the heat of the match if not careful.
- Consider enabling if the following occurs
- - You prefer teching throws with the SF4/SFV input (LP+LK in SF would be 1+3 in Inj2)
- - You’re uncomfortable with having to use all 8 buttons on a fightstick/hitbox
- - You’re uncomfortable with having to use trigger levers for inputs on control pad
- Consider disabling if the following occurs
- - Inputting strings causes you to get accidental interactables
- - Grabbing with 1+3 causes you to get an attack instead of a throw
- - Interacting using 1+2 causes you to get an attack instead of the interaction
