  1. The 'fantasy' generic font family was added so that authors would have
  2. one more generic font name to chose from. 'serif', sans-serif', and
  3. 'monospace' are more obvious names, but computers -- even back in 1995
  4. -- typically had some fonts that didn't fit into these bins. Another
  5. name would have been 'display', or 'handwriting', perhaps. I believe
  6. 'fantasy' was chosen to have room for anything that didn't fit the
  7. other bins.

  13. Yes, fantasy is a category for fonts for special usages. You might use it
  14. for titles, but not for body text or anything that is longer than a few
  15. words.
