  1. >Can the game be considered a full release?
  2. No, for all intents and purposes, KSP should be considered still in early access state. The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective. There are still major bugs and memory leaks that shouldn't exist on a finished game. The linux version is near unplayable for a large majority of the userbase, despite its status as "officially supported" by the devs.

  4. >Are there big issues with the game?
  5. Bugs and instability are still real and frequent problems, as with every product still in beta. Ask in thread for details.
  6.
  7. >What are the devs doing?
  8. The most recent version (1.2) brought some optimizations, better stability, various tweaks, and a new satellite relay system. In similar fashion as the last few updates, a large majority of 1.2 was developed by hired modders in the community, not the developers themselves. Many of these modders inexplicably left a week before the update, with an unknown but credible source appearing on the subreddit hours later after their departure stating that they left because of poor working conditions and inadequate wages. This has followed a chain of other core developers and employees leaving the team for presumably similar reasons, including the game's founder, Felipe Falanghe. As those who left were integral parts of the developing team, it is unclear what will happen in future updates, assuming there will be any.

  10. >Should I buy the game?
  11. KSP is very enjoyable at first, then it usually needs to be modded to retain some sort of longevity, but doing so may dramatically increase the instability of the game. You will be very familiar with the word "Oops!". The Developers, Squad, have shown many times that they can't handle the project and are trying to squeeze all the money they can with the least amount of effort and with controversial PR tactics. The general consensus at /kspg/ is that you should not buy the game, not because the game itself is unplayable, but because most of us agree that Squad does not deserve your money.

  13. >What about the console versions?
  14. The KSP console release is a poorly optimized port of an already poorly optimized PC simulation to consoles done by a company that was fired by EA. You can likely assume the nightmare that entails.
