  3. I can see you're a young dude, so I'll try to be helpful here.
  4.
  5. Why are you so upset? Why are you so militant about your superiority over people who care about social issues?
  6.
  7. You'll find this forum to be the most open and welcoming of any, with the ripest chance of actual nuanced dialogue, but you'll also find "SJW/Gamegate" sentiment is not tolerated by most. If you want to participate in this community, I recommend taking a long walk and considering why your perspectives are met with the response they have been. This misdirected anger is not a great thing to live with.
  8.
  9. If you do decide to stay and continue this path, everyone will just ignore you, so you'll just be yelling nonsense at nobody.

  21. Because they don't care about social issues. They care about getting brownie points and pats on the back from people who share their viewpoints. Same reason Black Lives Matter threw a shitfit about a thug getting shot, but when an actual innocent black man was gunned down by the police they stayed silent. They just want excuses to riot and loot in the same way SJWs want excuses to be offended and smug. SJWs- no, that gives them too much credit- socialist faux-intellectuals are some of the most despicable creatures to infest God's green Earth. I also find it ironic that you'd choose to claim people here care about social issues whilst harbouring Walky, AKA a massive racist who lead a smear campaign against Floro Dery on the Wiki because he couldn't handle a non-white working on his favourite cartoon. And that's before we mention that massive scam he was involved in. So don't even think about peddling that crap to me. I've seen "social justice" in action and it is a monster.

  31. So it's the most open and welcoming of any...providing you don't hold the wrong opinions? Nice. And what the flying hug does a movement dedicated to outing corruption in the games industry have to do with any of this? Muh harassment narrative by chance?

  79. I think you're very wrong about this. While there may be folks on the internet who are hypersensitive and do not back up their words with action, many people whom you would lump into that category are doing what they can do bring awareness to very real issues that plague our society.
  80.
  81. Taking a step back to address the bigger picture issues, the Black Lives Matter movement has made attempts to protest any and all black deaths at the hands of police. I'm not sure where you get your news, or how broad that news is, but I can point you to several instances of action against police brutality against people of color. I'm not sure what you're referring to regarding silence of an innocent man, but if your narrative is that BLM is somehow pro-violence, I would encourage you to seek out alternate viewpoints.
  82.
  83. And yes, there will always be people who choose to use peaceful protests as an excuse for further violence, but no BLM protest has ever been started with the intent for destruction of life or property. It exists solely to bring attention to the systemic racism that exists in our society, and to shine a light on the way that racism results in black people being targets for police brutality. I encourage you to seek out activists in your area and gain a deeper and more personal understanding of what those struggles are before you dismiss them.
  84.
  85. Indeed, your usage of "social justice warrior" diminishes the idea that there any problems at all, and indeed further marginalizes many people who are honestly trying to make this world a better place. What makes these people "the most despicable creatures"? Surely you cannot honestly believe that.
  86.
  87. RE: Walky, he is not a perfect person (nor is anybody) but I can assure you the understanding you have of whatever it is you're speaking about with regards to Floro Dery or a "scam" are unfounded. I'm pretty sure Walky knows non-white people work on a product that very much originated in Japan, at the very least.

  99. There are many kinds of opinions. Saying you don't like peanut butter when I do, that's a disagreement. Saying you like the Transformers films when I don't, that's a disagreement. You will find most adults will not take you to task for holding that kind of opinion.
  100.
  101.
  102.
  103. However, if your opinions are things like "white privilege doesn't exist", well, that's a much more serious claim.
  104.
  105. Re: Gamergate, I bring it up because it is a very specific brand of toxicity and rallying against progressive viewpoints that is singularly intertwined with the claims of "SJWs." I'll not get into a debate about the purpose of that harassment campaign here, but my other suggestions about elevating yourself above the anger and trying to gain a new perspective should apply there, too.

  115. Why do you feel that these people are deluded, and why do you think that being "soft" is a weakness? I know it can be hard to challenge one's perception of self, but it is perhaps worth your time to experiment with the idea that you may not be in the right on some things, and explore why you might be and challenge yourself to grow.

  125. You'll find that attitude will not serve you well in the future. It is easy to be angry and defensive, and to take some things personally — as a straight white dude, it took me a while to grow and understand what people meant by "white privilege". But nobody hates you because of those things, and nobody things they're better than you because of what you or they are. That said, if you identify as someone who is racist, sexist, etc., there is a fair chance people will dismiss you out of hand.

  137. Again, I'm not sure why you are so angry, or why you care so much about this forum.

  140.
  141. I know what it's like to be young and angry and on the defensive. I've been there, bud. But if you take any of my genuinely-intended-to-be-friendly advice at all, let it at least be this: chill, step away from the computer, and live your life without worrying about what some people on the internet think. You may very well become someone with viewpoints that others might find toxic. Maybe you won't. At the end of the day, do you and if you truly just believe this comes down to a you against them narrative...just step back and focus on living your life. All this hate and this negativity has a personal cost, and I can tell you it's not worth it.
