>It begins the same as every other day.

>Dress in your plain clothes and begin the hunt for your keys.
>Give up the search and declare them to be dead. Fuck those keys. Take the spare set.
>Hopefully today will end differently than every other day. Today you're going to ask Twilight out on a date. It's taken your beta ass years to work up the courage.

>As you walk to your job at the Library you think back to how you two met.
>Your attempt at creating a time machine out of a Kia Rio failed. It did manage to shift you into another dimension though.
>You probably shouldn't have used a vehicle made out of compressed compromise and cheapness but hey, Kia Rio time mach... interdimensional transportation device yo.
>You arrived at the edge of Ponyville backwards and on fire, tumbling out of the hole in dimensions.
>Luckily your body was thrown from the rolling wreak before the vehicle came to a rest and exploded in typical movie fashion.
>Thank that imaginary friend in the sky you didn't get killed. Just a bakers dozen broken bones, shattered teeth, and massive internal bleeding.
>A crowd of colorful equines with humanlike faces and a what looked like a mini-argonian stand over you, staring down at your twitching form.
>"Yo monkey guy, you alright?", the lizard thing ask. "Spike, of course it's not ok. Now help me get it to the hospital.
>You give the purple one a bloody, broken toothed smile and pass out.
>Your thoughts turn back to the present.
> Continuing to work, passing a few p0nies on the way. Most ignore you, a few say hi.  You spot a familiar face by the market area.
>Lyra. Lyra was you closest friend here.  You met her when she was working as a candy striper at the hospital during your rehabilitation.
>Healing magic here worked well enough but it takes time. Time Lyra had spent by your side as her magic slowly healed you.
>She trots up to with her usual big smile. "Hiya Anon! You heading off to work?"
"Yep, another fun filled day organising dusty old books. Whoopie. At least the view is good...." you mumble, staring off into space.
>"Uuuh, what's that Anon?"
"Huh? oh nothing. So, you know how I've kinda liked Twilight for a while now?"
>"Uh huh...., yeah?"
"I'm finally gonna ask if she'd like to go on a date with me. Great right?!"
>"Heh heh, yeah. Of course, hope that works out for ya! So um, lunch at the cafe today?"
"Have I ever missed one of our get togethers yet? You turn to leave when a minty green hoof taps you on the back.
>"You forgetting something big guy?", she ask while holding one foreleg up towards you.
>You slap the extended hoof with a resounding smack.
"Hi five!"
>A smile on her face, she runs off back to the market for her morning smoothie. "Good luck Anon!"
>Your attitude considerably more chipper you finish the walk to work.
>Opening the library door you see Spike dancing around with a duster singing to himself.
>"...et on the floor, everypony do the dragons roar. RRRWAARR, Na na nan naa nnaaaaaaaaaaa!", with a quick spin he turns and moonwalks into you hard, knocking himself to the floor.
"Pfft, nice moves little bro.", your face sporting a huge shit-eating grin.
>His cheecks turn scarlet. "Y-you, you weren't supposed to see that." You reach down and offer a hand, pulling him to his feet.
"Don't worry about it dude, your secret's safe with me. Safe that is...."
>"Oh no, what?"
"You teach me how you moonwalk like boss." You smile, holding your fist towards him in standard brofist form.
>"Deal." Fistbump.
"So Spike, you seen Twi around? Got an important little something I wanna ask her today."
>"What, you makin' your move on her or something? Pfft, as if."
>You give him a deadpan stare. "Wait, are you?" You nod. "Whoa, well good luck then.... Anyways, no she's not here. She went somewhere this morning with Rainbow."
"Huh, ok. Well I guess I'll just get started around here." You settle into the normal boring workday routine.
>Noon finally rolls around. As you're about to leave for the cafe the doors to the housebrary burst open allowing a very excited Rainbow and Twilight inside.
>"Hi Anon! Sorry for dumping all the mornings work on you but I've got big news!", she stammers out excitedly.
"Heh, yeah me too.", you mumble. Goddamnit, don't screw this up you beta fuck. "I, uh wanted to ask you something Twi. Would you um,"
>"Oh oh!, can I go first?! This is really big!" You motion for her to continue.
>"I came out to my parents today and they're ok with it!"
"...............huh?"
>"Duh, I'm gay Anon, and it's ooookay!"
>"Squee!, and to make it even better my parents were happy I'd found a special somep0ny too!" Isn't it great?!"
"Yeah that's, uh awesome Twi. Um good for you... So who's the lucky lady?" you say with false enthusiasm though the lump in your throat.
>"Yo. Right here tough stuff.", Rainbow says with a wink.
"Well, congrats, I'm gonna just... go and get my lunch break. I'll see you, um, two when I get back."
>"Take the rest of the day off Anon! I'm closing up early. You go and enjoy the rest of the day!" You turn to leave. "Oh wait. Wasn't there something you wanted to ask me Anon?"
"Hmm? Oh don't worry about it. You two have fun. I'm gonna, just go."
>"Ok bye!" the pair say in unison. They rub noses and move in for a kiss as you close the door behind you.
>You start walking towards the cafe. Welp, I guess that's that then. Good for them. I'm just happy they're happ
>OHGODWHOTHEFUCKAMIKIDDING the lump in your throat finally choking out a sob from you as the tears start.
>You continue your way to the Cafe to meet Lyra still as the feels start to subside. Your little cry done but eyes still red and puffy.
>An ever happy Lyra spots you and waves you over. She immediately pick up on you've been crying as you sit down.
>"What's wrong big fella?", she ask as she get up and moves her chair next to yours, laying a foreleg over your shoulders as you slump forward onto the table.
>You tell her the entire story. Your tiny crush from the first day when Twilight got you to the hospital, the crush turning into something much much stronger over the years.
>Ending the story with this morning's events your sides hitching as more sobs come unbidden.
>"There there Anon let it out." She rubs your back as you weep. The other patrons looking on the scene uncomfortably.
>An uptight looking p0ny with a monicle mutters somthing like "Anon please go." Lyra shoots him a withering glare.
>After a bit you sit up and dry your eyes. Feeling a lot better now you turn towards her and embrace her in a hug.
"Thanks Lyra, you're the best friend my dumbass self could have ever hoped to have."
>She hugs you tighter at the word "friend".
>"Yeah, friend...", a small smile creeping across her face as she nuzzles into your shoulder.
