- Today marks a significant step in a long journey. I can't say for sure when the journey will end, but for the first time in a long time, progress moves forwards instead of backwards.
- This is a positive step. I am very optimistic.

- I'm not sure if I've had as much fun playing any video game as I have playing Final Fantasy 14. In 8 months I have found new friends and been able to socialize with old friends more than I possibly could have imagined. Here's a quick update:
- I started out playing Dragoon (spear class) and ended up clearing the first half of the Savage difficulty raid for this patch. I mostly used the party finder playing with random players from NA. After I got back from Japan, I decided to try and continue on in the tier and clear the second half, which is much more difficult. So I progressed through most of the 3rd fight (out of 4) and one day in March I joined a group that was 7/8 of a static group that was close to clearing the fight. They had a slot open for a dragoon and after a few trial runs I decided to join them for the rest of the tier. We cleared the 3rd fight and then a few weeks later we cleared the 4th and final fight of the tier. It ended up being a really great fit for everyone. At some point we had a couple of people decide to take a break from raiding so we merged with another group and I feel like we ended up even better (both in skill and chemistry). If you've watched my stream in the last few months I hope that you have been even half as entertained with our antics as I am on a regular basis. Somehow I got talked into switching jobs from Dragoon to Ninja, which was a pretty jarring change. The 2 jobs play pretty differently and I was still not sure I was even that good of a Dragoon (despite being told that I was good). Thank god trog was learning ninja when I was because I was able to bounce ideas off of him and watch his stream as well to learn how to be a good ninja because all of this was in preparation for the new Ultimate difficulty raid which will be released tomorrow.
- I have no idea if we will clear at all, let alone any time soon, but if I know one thing its that we're gonna have a new fight to learn and that I wouldn't want to learn it with any other group. I really do think we have a solid chance at clearing it eventually as well, which would be really special to me because one of the reasons I started playing this game was because I was so interested in the Ultimate difficulty fight that was released in November. Anyways yeah I'll be streaming Ultimate prog a lot starting tomorrow.

- I also got all my crafters and gatherers to max level (except fishing but thats not important). So I'm working on getting caught up with the newest gear so I can be ready to make stuff for patch 4.4. Crafting is quite fun in ff14 and its a nice way to save/make money.
