  3. a "world island" with enough "known" carbon based fuels (coal, oil, gas) to last few hundred years at current usage and possessing technologies to convert from one to other (coal to oil, gas to liquids etc)

  5. thats before one looks at nuclear fission of uranium, plutonium and thorium and related reprocessing technologies which could make much better use of their energy content of fuels and waste could be recycled for more energy

  7. and of course without even looking at renewables which catch some of the energy from that giant fusion reactor above our heads called the Sun which aint going anywhere for next few billion years

  9. While we could be in a peak oil situation we are very far from a peak energy scenario since our little "island world" spinning in its orbit around a giant nuclear reactor is quite literary full of energy, and we have the technologies to tap into most of it

  11. So once again sorry for being sceptical about doomsdaymongering
